Hats off to the HEART SISTERS ..Yes Ann could sing the phone book as one poster said . However that is Brian Wilson's Band behind them doing a terrific job . Two of it's members have passed on , Jeff Foskett and Nicky Wonder . And just last month Brian Wilson was diagnosed with dementia, two weeks after his wife Melinda passed away . Today is March 17. 2024 and this song still rocks .
If there were any doubts about it, this makes Heart the GO-TO band for any musician or band tributes. Any doubt, check out Heart's performance of Led Zeppelin's Kennedy Center Honors induction. Nuff said.
Agree! They’re awesome. It’s like, they’re so respectful of the original work. They just amplify it. Complex, beautifully orchestrated, all that. Hats off!
The first time I saw the LZ Kennedy Center Honors induction I thought "how stupid to have these two girls doing a tribute cover of a LZ mega hit". Then I watched the whole performance of "Stairway to Heaven" and by the end of it I was literally stunned at what I saw. My heart was pounding and my hands were shaking. 😊
My car's Texas license plates say ♡NMRCY. Obviously a Brian Wilson fan. And the Canadian Wildon sister's have never let us down with their craft and again succeeded to charm me with this one. Nicely done.
@@artdeco5464 by birth yes, moved to Canada and recorded Dreamboat Annie. I stand corrected. Thanks for righting my keel on this journey of life. Keep me honest, friend!
@@artdeco5464 …They are US born and citizens, but Ann is also a Canadian citizen. They got their start in Canada. Without Canada there would be no Heart. Heart was formed in Vancouver and recorded there. Dreamboat Annie was released in Canada in 1975 and not until 1976 in the US. They toured all over Canada and it was a Montreal radio station that gave them a lot of airplay that got their fabulous music out there. At some early love performances Ann said they were from Canada too. So, Canada and the US can share them. :)
Those Wilson sisters from heart are not related to beachboys Brian Wilson. ( Brian wilson daughters are in a band called Wilson Phillips not to be confused).
It's not often, I find a 'cover version' that beat's the sh*t outta such a classic original..... Loved Dreamboat Annie when it was released. Not heard much of their lated stuff. BUT............
@@j.j.upright4010 I never said Ann and Nancy weren’t American. You need a lesson in rudimentary English. Thank god you boomers won’t be around for much longer
You are on point. Backing up here: Wondermints Darien Sahanaja, Mikey D'Amico, Probyn Gregory and Nick Walusko. Channeling Brian's falsetto is former ( and present) Beach Boys touring member Jeffrey Foskett . Other members of Brian's wonderful band: Scott Bennett, Taylor Mills, Paul Von Mertens, and the " Tasty Brothers" rhythm section Bob Lizak and Jimmy Hines.
There was actually an entire orchestra - The Radio City Music Hall Orchestra - playing alongside the Brian Wilson band the night of this concert. The orchestra was not really shown on camera during the filming of this special, but they were there and were actually situated in an elevated position on stage but also kind of behind the stage, roughly in the vicinity of where the Boys Choir of Harlem are standing when they sing their vocal parts in this performance. I imagine that the backdrop behind the Boys Choir obscures the view of orchestra during this song, because that is roughly where they were located on stage. There was actually an audience recording of this concert special posted to (and then removed from) RUclips earlier this year, and throughout that audience recording the full orchestra can be seen there.
Yea he absolutely ruined it. It was sounding great, and the literal second he chimed in with his part, I was like what the living hell is this guy doing in this song? Had no business being there. Ann and Nancy of course on point as always, but I don't know what the fuck they heard in rehearsals that this guy even made it to the real performance.
Sounds like a comical version of the song when that low voice comes in. Nancy's ad lib vocals at the end didn't help. Pretty hard to cover a perfect song.

Wilson sisters singing a Wilson Brothers song
Ann Wilson could sing the phone book and make it sound good 🤘🏻😆🤘🏻
I just love them. Ann and Nance, sure know how to rock any song they choose.
Classy intro by the late, great Sir George Martin!

I watch that performance at least once a month. It's fantastic!

++INTRO BY GEORGE MARTIN.
SER G. MARTIN AS HIMSELF
I like this, this song is bad ass that's what you call Rock n Roll!!!
Seeing the BeachBoys do this and the Wilson Sisters do it . FABULOUS
Wilson sisters meet the Wilson brothers
Not present: Wilson sister Cindy and late brother Ricky from B52s.
I love The Beach Boys sound, from the first day to the present, 60 years later.
So much good rock music over the years and yet this just floats above the din
Seen the Beach Boys seen them when they played Bellevue Black Angus before they were famous ever. This is the Best rendition EVER
Big Beach boys fan since the beginning and this is amazing.
Yes...same here...1963 fo me...Ann was incredibly energized...she was feeling every note.
Legendary music
Ann Wilson is my spirit animal.
Holy shit, absolutely perfect
Awesome song n the fab jubilant Sykes what a fantastic dynamite 🧨 combination
Brian Wilson best songwriter of the 20th century. Over Berlin, Gershwin and those overrated wankers from Liverpool

ummm... the Wilson sisters are American...

Awe inspiring!
But they needed a real theremin.

They Honestly Killed It Brian
Ann and Nancy Wilson always do !!

A spine chilling rendition!

Every now and then, I really hate my poxy computer speaker's.... WOW, this deserve's to be heard LOUD.....
Incredible!
Fantastiche voci. Fantastic voices.

The Beatles better've thank God SMiLE didn't drop in early '67! IDK that Sgt Pepper would've been quite as 'signifigant,' had he completed the album.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ilove brain wilson on dvd
Love the female vocals!
Toys in the Static Thats Ann Wilson and her sister Nancy of Heart
Toys in the Static if I could even dare think of one complaint of Brian Wilson, it's that I WISH he had done more with strong female vocalists.
Their harmony! Other worldly.
I would prefer Carl singing, unfortunately .-....
Yeah, those two sound good on the verses.
:-)
Great tribute to their dad
LOL... They are not THAT "Wilson". No relation.
Brilliant

Where was the Canadian band??? This is the same band/ members that did the release of the SMILE LIVE video album, 2004, with Brian Wilson.
Miss you Brian
awesome
W T H???! AWESOME!!!!!
Jubee. What happened to your hair? It's been a loooooooooooooong time since seeing you at Johnny Mac's joint.
🙄
Be careful Steve, Will.Smith might slap you.
Hey, Eric Ricci, the Wilson sisters are not Canadian,,,,,they're from Washington, do your homework
Correct. However; the band is a Canadian band.
VERY GOOD!"
Great rendition. The baritone was a bit too low compared to the original, but still sounded great.
He had kind of a tough time hitting those clean.
He was absolutely terrible.
Are some of the musicians (obviously not Ann or Nancy Wilson) from Brian Wilson's backing band from the early 2000s? I see a couple of familiar faces.
Yes. The Wondermints were the backing band for the whole show.

Lol "I'm givin' up good vibrations"
THANKS GOD , NO BEACH BOYS. FORGOTTEN
I don't like the guys voice but Ann is great😊❤
It’s too bad the male vocalist couldn’t be bothered to learn the lyrics.
Don't like the way the black guy sang that low part. It almost sounded like he was making fun of it. His style didn't fit the song.
Same. Too exaggerated. Other than that, it rocks. 👍

That baritone sucks. Go sing some opera

That guy with the deep voice ruined the song.
IDK if we should be offended with that deep of a voice singing carls parts and then the calm bit is ok but the good vibrations bit HELL NAH
Biggest shit ever….a fucking carnage
Abysmal. Goes to show you some things are best left alone.
These damn kids slaughtered that song. The baritone needs to stick to rap not classic rock. Terrible rendition.!!! You know I'm right.
it was a show about the beach boys take a chill pill.
