I just downsized to a 300 sq ft studio so I can pay off my car sooner. Full coverage insurance on a financed car is outrageous. It’s a 10 year old used Ford for heavens sake. Thank you for sharing your journey and giving others a different perspective on how to financially survive in this crazy world
Sounds like a good move for you. You have a plan. I'm sure that you'll be fine. Change can be a bit uncomfortable for a time but it can also feel exciting for new endeavors in life. All the best to you!!!
Yup! I have a permit to live there, I have insurance, I lived in different parts of Lisbon. I was traveling back and forth living a dual life as well. But one thing is true - earning money. The wages are definitely smaller ( I was even offered a job there) but I had so much US expenses that I couldn’t afford to take that job.
Thank you for sharing this journey. Same here, I learning to be a minimalist ❤

Yea, my car insurance doubled before I sold my car. Downsizing is the best option forward, congrats for taking those steps

Can you tell me how much did you have to spend on property management company to rent.
Yea! To find tenants costed the same amount for one month of rent + there’s a 10 % fee per month
Why not just move to Portugal?
I will eventually live there full time but I have these jobs requirements of working a certain amount of time in the US
Do you know the regulations about moving to Portugal? It's not just a matter of taking a suitcase and a flight. RESEARCH ..YOU NEED A JOB..INSURANCE..
