I’m all for wearing natural hair; however, a lot of ppl who are questioning the wig really need to get educated on why ppl wear “protective styles” such as wigs, braids, extensions etc. 3 to 4c hair is very hard to maintain, not to mention, breaks off super easy, especially when you get more into the 4 region. We can’t just wet our hair, throw mousse in it and call it a day. To each it’s own tho.

Random Info for the curious lol
The stocking thing is called a swirl kous (swirl sock) in south Africa. Woman comb there hair in a circular motion around the head like a swirl, put on the cap and turn or swirl cap once while tucking all stray hairs under cap. It's usually worn to bed or used to make hair softer/more manageable/shiny. The older woman who wear curlers will put one on over the curlers to keep them in place. People with All hair types do this. Also, it lessens volume if you have thicker hair and dont fluff it up too much after removing cap. Many tend to swirl hair right after styling or ironing as it tends to keep the style in longer.
That is what the black women do here in America too!! We call it wrapping our hair, we also do it at night to keep our straightened hair maintained longer....shoot, we probably got the idea from the motherland!

@@hoddtoward2623 dude shut tf up. I have curly hair and straightening it, washing too often or using a blow dryer, putting it up in a pony makes anyone's hair break off, especially coil type curls. YES THEYRE HAIR IS BEAUTIFUL, but they want to be able to wear it natural sometimes too and they have to use wigs or other protective styles to do so.

Protective styling enables protection from heat damage, dryness, and other external factors(hence the name, protective styling). Black hair cannot be shampood every day as it strips away oil and moisture that is needed.
I don't wear wigs or plan to and don't see a lot of people put them on, so I love learning how people who do wear them apply them. You looked absolutely beautiful with and without the wig! Looked stunning either way 💙

We do...but we also love our protective styles...and that too is a protective style..she has in her 2 cornrows so that while the wig is on... her hair will be stretching and the wig will stop her hair from being exposed to sunlight.
I def gotta save this video. My hair is super long or it was but I cut it and put some braids in on the 26th and finished them on the 29th. Despite my hair being down my back somehow the middle got matted. I'm not a fan of holding on to damaged hair so I cut it pretty short and washed it, conditioned it, and then I used keratin conditioner on it and rinsed that...
My scalp feels amazing. I wish I knew off hand the name of the products I used but I'll probably upload it to my channel.
I'll be doing braids for a while till I grow it back out the length it was.
So when I do wear a wig again I'll use this method.

Good idea. However your edges are thinning from either the braids or glueing the wigs down. Be careful over time.
Real braids do not thin your edges. I have my Natural hair and it is braided all the time. I am 67 yrs.old and my hair is below my shoulders and very thick. I use Jamaican Black Castor Oil with Rosemary. Have always had long thick wavy hair. Ladies wear your own Natural beautiful hair.

It made me SO happy to see that she used a big afro-is wig!! I was going to be sad if she used a straight hair wig. Being is Southern California I don’t see a lot of natural-haired African Americans. I just love big curly and zigzag and wavy hair! I wish my hair was super curly to where I could have an Afro. My parents are Mexican and my dad and his mom had almost a legit Afro cuz they had tiny tight curls but I got big-curl hair. I love my hair but I just love “African” hair.

She is very pretty...i go to an ethnic pentecostal church comprised of whites, aas, and africans. Every now and then youll see the ladies come in wearing those amazing african prints. There was a woman who came to our church, and she always dressed sharp, and she always carried herself like a queen. Jean Mcdowell, shed have those prints on and she walked as if she owned the place. She passed away of lung cancer in 2018. Miss her dearly.
