      I am a a man been born a boy and always been ok with that, and I am to say it is not only normal but very healthy. People place too mych negative emotions into own genitals that then result in shame and then resutl in perverssions and it goes to the psyche. You seam a good mom who does not shame own boys nor places fear on them. I know how much time it takes to heal those fear wounds and negative thougts feeling connotations, growing under shame is dying out away from life

    Hi Jamie! I'm Sophie from Chile and in the last couple of months I have been finding myself very curious about all the trans and transition things. I'm not trans but for me, all of the trans community is such an amazing and strong people that I really enjoy and like watch videos about it or read about it. So in my very low knowledge in the subject I just find so much content about the male to female transition y just a few about the female to male transition, for that reason I started watching a lot of the male to female transition and just a few weeks ago I was like... I need to see the other side of the story and i find your channel. Jamie I'm so happy about your transition, I find that you are such a thankful person and actually very positive. I also see your relationship with your girlfriend and I find myself smiling at your countless I love you, you two are so cute! Anyway I just really feel the need to told you that thanks to your videos and anothers trans youtubers I'm now just so open and practically in love with your community, I respect you and I support you and I'm just very happy that one step at the time you are getting the life you deserve. So much love to you and your loved ones all the way form Chile!

    • @bryntendo
      @bryntendo 6 лет назад +37

      Hey kids! Hahaha. I'm 28 and I just had top surgery 3 months ago, and hit 1.5yrs on T about a week ago. Trust me, I know what the feeling is like when you just have to wait and wait and everyone else around you (well, that's what it seems like) is getting T and surgery and name changes and posting photos of their beards and facial changes and blahblahblah. It sucks. It totally sucks man, I'll give you that. But remember - You're so young and you already know that you're trans, you have all these resources and role models, you live in a society where it's infinitely more accepted and understood to be trans than it was, say, even 5 years ago but WAY more than like 10 or 20 years ago. So all of this is going to be so much easier and more attainable for you, *_and_* you're coming out young, so you'll get to live the vast majority of your life and your entire young adulthood as the right gender and in a body that actually feels like home. Waiting sucks, but honestly that time is gonna feel like nothing eventually and you absolutely *_will_* get there. I promise. So, take the time to just get to know yourself and really sort out what you want, your priorities, getting information, maybe even getting on some wait lists for certain things, talk to a child gender identity counselor, get all that shit documented - This'll make it 1000x easier to move forward with actual medical transition when you're old enough, and if you've been on a wait list that's, eg, 18 months, you don't wanna get on that list when you're old enough to get the thing that wait is for, nah, you're already waiting anyway so have them overlap, know what I mean? Then by the time you're 16/18/however old you need to be for whatever, you could have a month's wait rather than a year and a half.
      But most importantly, don't compare yourself to other people - Compare yourself to yourself over time, and watch your own progress and be happy about it, coz trying to compare yourself to people at totally different life stages let alone transition stages is just gonna make you feel like shit. Anyway, I just wanted to jump in and say hey, I get it, I waited 26 years 😂 It's frustrating when you're still trying to get the ball rolling or you just have to wait before you can even do that, but once things actually do start happening it's like woah holy shit all this stuff is happening, and happening *_fast_* dude!! So don't be in a rush, just take it all as part of the journey you're on, try not to let it get you down, because eventually, it's going to have been a huge advantage for you and you'll be so happy about it. Any of you on puberty blockers? God I wish those were around when I was a teen, haha. Time flies man, it really does, so just keep on going, do your thing, live your life, and all the other stuff will happen before you know it. All the best!

    • @abbihead5313
      @abbihead5313 6 лет назад +8

      Okay here's my background story or whatever you'd like to call it. When I was 4, I started figuring out what gender was, and I was like, well I feel like im a boy but I must be a girl because my family says so. Time went by and I hit 7 years old, I fooled around online (I was a smart child) found the term transgender, then it hit me. I am a boy afterall, and im just told I'm a girl, okay I can fix that later down the road. 7 years old, I chose my name, and I havent changed it since, so here's me, Skylar Jordan. Here I am now, 2 days from my 13th birthday, I have my hair cut short now, and I have gender neutral clothing. Sadly, I am not on blockers, estrogen blockers wouldn't do anything but stop menstrual cycles for me. Puberty hit me LONG ago. I don't have a binder either (unsupportive parents, yay) which, binders are uncomfortable anyway but I have a huge chest, a 38DD, so I'm always read as female. It's hard to wait, I see all these other transgender men starting their testosterone, getting their surgeries, and name change, and I'm just here, no binder, packer, or even one supportive person in my life.

      Unpopular opinion alert but... please consider these surgeries long and hard! It is. Such a a huge dramatic change for the body.. and research has shown that people can get highly depressed after going through with all of the surgeries.
      I’m just a strong advocate for mental health. I think it’s soooo important to handle gender identities with our mental state being the first priority on the list! I’ve heard a lot about people realizing they wished they had just accepted themselves without surgery. Because changing your gender through surgery isn’t as easily accomplished as it’s made out to be... there’s going to be maintenance on that for. The. Rest. Of. Your. Life. Hormones that will become less effective over time(usually after about ten years). Etc. and at the end of it these are just aesthetic and you are aware of that. Subconsciously or in the forefront of your mind. And none of those things really matter anyways! It’s just acceptance that this is who you are. It’s not perfect, but no human being is.
      And please just try to understand, this is my way of trying to support the trans community. I know it might not seem that way because people think surgery is the solution here. But it is not! When dealing in mental health, physical changes are never the answer! You can always decide later that you want bottom surgery, but once you go through with it there will be no going back. And bottom surgery does not compare to your original functioning body! It may not be the body that matches your mind, but it is still healthy, and will have the best chance of protecting you!
      I don’t want to keep going on as I think I’m rambling a bit.. it’s early for me. I just strongly encourage you take all the time you can to contemplate this! And my honest opinion is that hormones themselves can do wonders for a person! With no irreversible changes.

      @@heatherbutler7635 Feeling depressed is a bodily reaction to surgery, not regret or anything. It happens with a lot of surgeries. You can be more than 100% happy with the result and never ever regret it, but feel highly depressed right after the surgery because of the surgery and not because of what changed and not because it was the wrong decision for you.

    I have had 4 surgeries in the last 6 years... I can absolutely relate to how awful recovering from surgeries is . I also had to have a second surgery due to complication. It was a breast reduction (which us pretty much the same procedure as top surgery but I just keep a good portion of the breast) and eye surgery and an emergency appendectomy. all of which suuuucked. I am not a fan. haha. so I'm so happy you've " healed beautifully " . I was so suprised that my body can just heal like that too.

    I can't lie, watching you talk about your junk made me smile, a whole lot. I'm not a father, I don't know if I ever will be, but I felt a sense of how happy a dad might feel knowing that his son is happy and satisfied with "himself". Society places a lot of unreasonable expectations on what the ideal man's "business" ought to be. But here I am, a single 28 year old man, having dad feelings! I'm so glad you like what you've got! "Becoming a man" happens in many different ways, obviously; but, I'm especially happy to witness how happy you are, it's very, very inspiring.

      Kate B you have to go out and do research in order to be educated on something. By watching these videos and others like it that is part of research!
      Now for next time a huge subject comes up you can remember this! Especially with something that can be so controversial it is SOOO important to look into it on your own. From all points of view. Yes I mean negative ones too! And those can be harder to swallow. The only way to know, really know, is to understand the view people have. Why they think what they think and what they have to back it up.
      Congratulations on doing research 🎉🎊🍾 I hope you were able to find answers you didn’t even know you were looking for!

    I'm glad for you.
    Has anyone noticed there's way more hate on MTF trans channels vs FTM ones?
    IS that a thing, or just my sample bias?

    • @sherwood999
      @sherwood999 4 года назад +9

      I would dare to make a hypothesis that because some culture pushes seem to say being female is bad, or worse. A male supremacist type of left over. And it makes sence to see the mtf be attacked more... not that I'm saying its good. Any and all transphobia is terrible. But this is just a hypothesis

    • @thatonemoonboy
      @thatonemoonboy 4 года назад +6

      I don't know, while this as I hope we both know is not even a tiny bit true, maybe they think of MTF women as perverts or something. I've seen that happen, so maybe it's more common than I have seen.

    • @darkgachaspring3407

      I think that people maybe accept more easy that a girl became a man than a man become a girl because in our society people wants a man to bé masculine , dont cry and all those bullshits , in short people wants the boy to dont have any link with a "girl behavior"
      So thé fact that a man become a girl maybe mind more than a girl becoming a boy
      I mean that's the reason why i think there's more hate on MTF than FTM
      If i should make an example : people will dont Say a thing about a girl wearing a pant but will make all a drama about a boy wearing a dress , you see the thing ?

    I commented already this morning on the first video I found of yours this morning but I failed to say this that I was also thinking. I was thinking as I listened to your voice and watched you, If I just happened to meet you on the street I would never have guessed that you had once been a female. . You look fabulous and I am so happy that you are feeling better. I am so happy that you are happy.

Didn't even realise you were trans but your open and honest approach to it all must be doing so much good for people who probably really need it. So I just wanted to share back some positivity with you 😊.

    Glad it is all going smoothly now! After my boyfriend had an accident last fall, he had to have reconstructive facial surgery. The numbness was by far the last thing to go away. It was a little scary because the surgeon had said the numbness was caused by swelling and it was still numb after it seemed like all of the swelling was gone. But it's all good now. Very different surgery, but that's my anecdote if it helps comfort anybody.

    wow, you are awesome mate. I am born a boy man with passion in recovering trauma from childhood of effects of parents or societal conditioning, working with shame in bodies is something that is part of my training. I am to tell you that it is absolutely freaking healthy to be obsessed with own junk...it is not when it has been shamed and made forbidden then it turns to perverssion, but I know when i started removing acestral guilt over my sexual feelings, ancestral shame of own sexual energy and my own penis that I love now, removing all the religious conditioning and shaming...recovering basically it all and seeing the healthy developement of children and observing when and hopw they get broken in this are has been an amazing journy for me, probably with many similiarities os of someone transgender uncovering own true self, in this case it has been uncovering me in my own body as a boy as a man from under the generationally passed trauma shaming bashing and guilt. My first bioenergetic teacher I look up to has came out with being a transgender woman in 2015 and that has been a turning point for me in my life. It was a shock and made me see so much of how i did not love myself as a boy even though I was born a boy. I seen so much shame and prejudice through the example of my teacher just by accepting the fact she was not a man but a transgender woman. That was a life changer for me. Long time I weressled with accepting it all but eventually I seen how me having any difficulty in accepting different sexual orientation and transgender had to do with me having not received loved that i needed as a boy when i was little and developing real self rejection and hatred. I then realized through my mentor who after two years of connection came out as trangender making me mourn the loss of the brother I thought I found and open to existance of a newbrilliant female, I realized that the journy of transgender man has vey similarities to a journy of coming out of trauma and abuse and self rejection and clinical depression or state of psychotic breakdown that doctors till this date say is not curable. IN last 3 years I changed as a man, the more i was opening to others breking through my prejudice seeing it was just fear and not being in my own body, not breathing poroperly having had reasons in my thought system as a virus of having to reject myself and remove myself in life, having been castrated this way. I am so very greatfull for transgender people the journey of self love that they show to the world and that you helped me to keep belief in my own self appreciate and love my own body and be a sex and fun loving man also someone who has gotten a new chance in life and new passion and potential carieere in field of working with the body in this revolutionary self loving core energetic qunatum like way of regaining connection with true self life of plesure and not driven by shame. All the best to you.

    Hearing that you didn't have urethral lengthening, but you still had to wear a catheter for so long, is making me lean even more towards not having bottom surgery. I will wait until I've been on T for awhile before coming to any firm conclusion though (I'm still pre-T ... I have my first appointment with an endocrinologist this coming June).
