  • One of the toughest question for both Christians and non-Christians is around the area of suffering? If God is all knowing, all loving and all powerful, than why does he allow suffering?

    God saved my life multiple times. One day I was swimming in a pond. I was walking on the pond's floor when I tripped. I fell under the water. The water pressure was so strong that I couldn't get back up. It was forcing me down. I could not swim under the water's pressure. I thought about trying to crawl to the pond's shore but then I thought; what if I can't crawl? What if the water pressure would become so strong that I couldn't move a muscle? Also, I'd likely be so disoriented if I tried to crawl that I'd go deeper into the pond rather than to the shore.
    After thinking for about a full minute, I finally realized that my only hope was God. So, I cried out to Him. "Lord," I prayed in my head, "If it is Your will for me to die today then please let me drown. However, if You have a plan for me, please rescue me. Please, 'O Lord, I want to fulfil the plan You have for me. But Your will be done, Lord. You know best. I'll trust in You no matter what. Please, help me now, I beg, if it is Your will. You are my only Hope." After praying this prayer, a strong force pulled me out of the water. It felt like someone had lifted me out. Amazed, I looked around. No one was there but God. Praise be to God, for He is good.
    God has also delivered me from homosexuality and pornography. He has forgiven me for my sinfulness and He loves me. PRAISE BE TO HIM!
    Every day I'm getting stronger in Him. And though I stumble and fall, though I still sin, though I still have lustful thoughts, every day God is healing me and strengthening me more and more. Praise be to the Everlasting King!
    And,
    to all those whose hearts ache, and to those who struggle with sin and/or doubt that God has forgiven you even though you are His child, to those doubting God's Love and Faithfulness,
    I'm praying for you. Believe me, God still cares. He's still there. I've lost many loved ones, and God has comforted me. Earth is not perfect, but Heaven IS. And God can help you overcome sin. If you doubt His forgiveness, know that as long as you have asked Jesus into your heart and to be your personal Savior, and as long as you have repented from your sins and asked God for forgiveness, you are truly forgiven and any guilt you feel of your past is from the devil. Resist it, you are a loved child of the One True King.
    To those of you whose hearts ache, the Bible says;
    Psalm 34:18
    The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
    Revelation 21:4
    He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
    Proverbs 3:5-6
    5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
    6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
    Jeremiah 29:11
    "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"
    To all those who struggle with sin and/or doubt that God has forgiven you even though you are His child, the Bible says to you;
    1 Corinthians 6:9 - 6:11
    9 Don't you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, 10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people--none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. 11 Some of you were once like that. But you were CLEANSED; you were MADE HOLY; you were made RIGHT with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
    John 8:2 - 8:11
    2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” 11 “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
    John 3:16
    For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
    2 Corinthians 1:22-1:23
    22 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 23 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
    Isaiah 58:9
    Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
    The Bible is God's Holy Word, and it is God's love letter to us. It encourages and comforts us. What the Bible says is true because the Bible was written by God, not by man.
    May God bless you.

      Pauline. Hi. I read your comment. I'm sorry about your mother but I want you to know that God loves you and he cares for you. Did you know that the rapture is about to happen soon. Ministers found new prophesies concerning the rapture in these last days. I encourage you to watch Pastor Dana's videos about the visions and dreams he's had concerning persecution in America. God has promotesd this man super naturally through the media to warn the body of Christ about the things that are going to take place before the rapture comes. His obedience to God has shaken the entire body of Christ as his dreams have lined up with many others on youtube who have all shared similar rapture dreams all within the Last Year! Isn't that exciting. Bring yourself back to God and his presence now get in the word (right now lol) and be prepared to be caught up to see your mother again soon. I'll give you a link let me get it...ruclips.net/video/SAZGxTiX6bY/видео.html that's pastor Dana Coverstone who had these dreams In December and they all came true. He also had a dream concerning this November which will also come true, so you know Jesus is about to gather us all up. Watch the link. God loves you. Be blessed.

      Hi Anthony
      It would seem that way but maybe there is a connection between our behavior and sickness, disease, and natural disasters. If you consider the following passage, it seems to me to be worth considering.
      Leviticus 18:24,25 Do not make yourselves unclean by any of these things, for by all these the nations I am driving out before you have become unclean, and the land became unclean, so that I punished its iniquity, and THE LAND VOMITED OUT ITS INHABITANTS.
      Peace and good will to you and yours. :)

    Once upon a time, I was young, stupid, and gullible. I believed in God and Jesus Christ and that they truly cared about me as a person and mankind in general. I prayed, read the Bible, tell others about God, tried to do good, be giving toward others, show others respect only to be taken advantage of, thrown away like used toilet paper, and kicked in the teeth. If God loved me, he would've made a way out for me. He would've shown me a sign that he cared. Instead, I got zip. My husband and I are suffering from a multitude of health issues, plus homelessness and I've begged God to help. He has, instead, turned a blind eye and deaf ear. He has chosen to reject us instead of listen. Last night, I asked him for help on one of my health issues and that issue got worse as I prayed so I stopped praying because I felt I was a bother to a 'loving' God.
    Now that I'm older, I've become disillusioned, bitter, and depressed. I came to several conclusions: 1. God does not want us to bother him, and 2. God does not give a s-t about us, and 3, God does not exist.
    I'm not telling anyone here what they should/shouldn't believe. I'm expressing my personal observations over the years. Bottom line: we all have a right to believe what we want and to believe in whoever we want. The best advice I've read from a fellow youtuber is "if you want to believe in something, believe in yourself."

    I'm actually noticing a bunch of questions about this topic in the comments. I'm going to try to answer some of them with what I know. It's likely going to be flawed, because I can't answer everything. I'm only human. Feel free to reply to me with any corrections or extra questions, just make them respectful.
    "Why did God create us if he knew that we would end up as sinners anyway?"
    Hmm, that's something that's a bit difficult to answer. This one might turn out to be an incomplete answer, but here we go. Is it really God's fault for doing that? The world was free of sin and was pure to start out with in the beginning. We could have lived happy, carefree lives. God gave humans free will, so we had the choice to either obey or disobey his wishes. Disobeying would end up leaving us out in the cold and would turn this world into a place of sin and death. There were obviously 2 easy choices on the table, but we humans chose to disobey. I would say this, he knew that we were likely going to sin against him and bring suffering into the world, but he still wanted to give us lives and choices of our own.
    "Isn't it God's fault? Especially for the bad things that humans can't control, like sickness?"
    Okay, I do have an answer for that. No, it's not God's fault. He gave us free will and the clear decision to obey his commands and be with him in paradise forever, or not to and corrupt this world, turning it into a dark place full of sin and suffering. We clearly had the option, we just chose to be blind and chose the wrong option. And about that second part of the question, just that one sin in the sinless world caused that stuff to come in. Our sin made it so this world was no longer pure, not only corrupting our minds and hearts, but as well as natural disasters.
    A last part of this is, is God really all that bad to you? Our sin caused this world to become imperfect, forcing God to look down at his own creation, the very own thing that he wanted in his family. He placed us in paradise, but we destroyed it. Do you not think that he has suffered just as much as we have, and much more? He watched thousands upon thousands of his only children turn his back on him, only to follow temptations and sin. But he still forgave us. After all we did to wrong him, he still sacrificed Jesus so that we may have a second chance with him. Despite all the bad things that happen, there is still light in the darkness. There is still a paradise out there, a savior. His name is Jesus, and he's been calling you all your life. But it's your choice to answer it.

      Could God comprehend what its like to be a human, it is omniscient but still its a God. God doesn't have a gender and I don't even know if it has emotion, all this time people personify god but do we really know if his love is the same as our own. I hear some people say god is everything but if it is how would it know what its like to be a human and only a human. It can never be only human so would that really be omniscient if it can't understand what its like. If it can't understand whats its like why does it want us to follow its will.

  • @thisisreal1437
    @thisisreal1437 9 лет назад +10

    "This is one of the most difficult questions in all of theology. God is eternal, infinite, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. Why should human beings (not eternal, infinite, omniscient, omnipresent, or omnipotent) expect to be able to fully understand God’s ways? The book of Job deals with this issue. God had allowed Satan to do everything he wanted to Job except kill him. What was Job’s reaction? “Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him” (Job 13:15). “The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised” (Job 1:21). Job did not understand why God had allowed the things He did, but he knew God was good and therefore continued to trust in Him. Ultimately, that should be our reaction as well.
    Why do bad things happen to good people? The biblical answer is there are no “good” people. The Bible makes it abundantly clear that all of us are tainted by and infected with sin (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:8). Romans 3:10-18 could not be clearer about the non-existence of “good” people: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Every human being on this planet deserves to be thrown into hell at this very moment. Every second we spend alive is only by the grace and mercy of God. Even the most terrible misery we could experience on this planet is merciful compared to what we deserve, eternal hell in the lake of fire.
    A better question would be “Why does God allow good things to happen to bad people?” Romans 5:8 declares, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Despite the evil, wicked, sinful nature of the people of this world, God still loves us. He loved us enough to die to take the penalty for our sins (Romans 6:23). If we receive Jesus Christ as Savior (John 3:16; Romans 10:9), we will be forgiven and promised an eternal home in heaven (Romans 8:1). What we deserve is hell. What we are given is eternal life in heaven if we come to Christ in faith.
    Yes, sometimes bad things happen to people who seem undeserving of them. But God allows things to happen for His reasons, whether or not we understand them. Above all, however, we must remember that God is good, just, loving, and merciful. Often things happen to us that we simply cannot understand. However, instead of doubting God's goodness, our reaction should be to trust Him. ”Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6)."

    Sometimes I feel that God allows good people to suffer, but sometimes I think otherwise. Someone in my family passed over last year, after battling a number of diseases and health situations, She is selfless person, full of faith in God. I felt like God let and down, and didn't help her as much as he could of, because she didn't deserve to go through what she went through.
    But since I believe in God, I also believe in heaven and hell. She's in the spirit world/heaven now. A world just like this one, minus pain and sickness. She can never be sick again, she'll never feel pain again. She has been reunited with a brother who she missed since he passed over about 15 years ago, and a father who passed over before she had gotten to know him. And she deserves all of that...I miss her, and I hurt. But I see and feel signs of her presence on a regular basis, and I know that one day I will be reunited with her where she is. And when that happens? It will be for eternity.
    There are a lot of bad people in this world, being evil, and nothing bad happens to them. All of their family members are still here. But I know they're going to hell, where they will be sick and in pain for eternity, and will never see their family again.
    So it seems like there are two paths:
    1- Be a good person, live a hard life here for decades (or shorter), and then have a good existence in the spirit world/heaven for eternity.
    2- Be an evil person here, live an easy life here for decades, and then have a miserable existence in hell for eternity.
    I'll take path #1.

    4:43 not true. He let's bad things happen in order to give us a chance to call for him. It's the start of the great relationship that this video mentioned. Take it from me, the song "what scars are for" may as well be my anthem and "ask and you shall receive" is my life story. If you want to have peace call on him and wait. You'll have it. God bless everyone.
    Edit: looking back on this comment several years later (may 2020) I dont 100% agree with my past self. I dont think that God let's bad thing happen so that we can call on him. I think that we choose and then he knows that forcing what he wants on us isn't going to get us any closer to him. Religious Zealots who force their views on people demonstrate this. I'm not saying that God *never* prevents bad things from happening. Far from it actually. I know that I've been protected and I know that my God will keep me safe throughout whatever storm I fight through. I'm just saying that my God isnt the kind of person to take things lightly. Having the power to change things and then not doing so must have its reasons to me. I've been through more hellish times than I was when I first wrote this comment and I know what kind of person my God is. He doesn't just _let_ things happen for gits and shigggles he has a clear plan in mind. I want some people to know this because apparently this comment is still getting traction.

      Andrew Woodhead no, we make our own choices. He doesn't hurt us so that he can save us. He let's the things that can bring good under the right circumstances happen, and then tries to help them happen. He then prevents the 100% bad things happen so that we don't have to deal with them.

    There are Atheist because they do not let God in their hearts, mind and soul. I know there is God cause I believe in him. He puts me into bad situation but after a while I realize it was something for good. You know what? You can't have success without failure. ask every person you knew if they experienced failure and I am 100% sure they will answer "Yes" the same thing. God let bad things happen in order for us to learn and realize something FOR GOOD. People tend to blame the negativities on God but forget to praise him when you receive all the positives and successes.

    Why didn't god just make us perfect in the first place? Why subject us to all this misery? Is he a sadist? Is it a game? What purpose could forcing us to suffer here on earth serve an all loving, all knowing God? It always astounds me the lengths people will go to to make up excuses for those that hurt them. It's a very unhealthy relationship between us and God. Don't battered wives often make excuses for their violent husbands too?

    The problem with the Bible is that it doesn't always tell the truth.
    The Bible says that God will punish the wicked and evil, but reward the good.
    However, it seems God is doing the opposite, reward the wicked and punish the good.
    That type is behaviour is no wonder why fewer and fewer people want to go to Church anymore as they seem to lost God.
    In fact, when I went to "The Salvation Army" Church Service around November or December 2018, I remember that my former Pastor, Major Luanne Barrow, gave a Sermon about why Churches across Canada are losing regular worshippers and many young people just don't want to attend Church. Its due to a fact that bad things are happening to good people, which contradicts The Bible's teaching, resulting in people losing trust in Christianity. She also said that 33% of respondents in a survey about decline in Church attendance stated that they lost God.
    I started to question my faith recently when bad things happened to my spouse as she was forced to quit her job due to Bosses and Supervisors whom were abusive and harassing towards her. They even forced her to take pictures of the work she did. She was forced to quit her job as a result.
    According to The Bible teachings, the company should be punished for their actions, not a hard working employee like her.

    A short story
    “The Irony”
    A man took a walk through the woods.
    He came upon a small brook.
    When he attempted to cross it, he set his foot upon a wet rock.
    He slipped and hit his head, stumbled a bit and fell unconscious.
    A stranger soon came upon him.
    He saw the man was dying.
    The stranger heard the brook nearby and took a handful of water.
    He immediately baptized the dying man.
    Just then he died.
    By the Godly power of the Sacrament of Baptism
    his soul was cleansed and the man went straight away to Heaven.
    The irony is this;
    It was the water upon the slippery stone that brought about the man’s untimely death.
    However, it was the very same water that
    brought the man, through Holy Baptism, into eternal life.
    Now, we may wonder why some things in life come about
    but be assured God does all things for our own good.
    Thanks be to God.

      I would challenge you to read the Book of Job. Job was a good man of faith but God allowed Satan to test Job's faith. Yes, everybody sins and makes mistakes, which is why as faithful and loving Christians, we repent and ask God for forgiveness. Sometimes things happen for reasons other than having a "bad" relationship with God. It's the same reason non-believers can still become "successful" without having a relationship with God at all. As humans, we feel pain as we are made in the likeness of God (Genesis 1:27). God feels sorrow and compassion too. (Exodus 3:7, Psalms 78:40, Isaiah 53:3, Hebrews 4:15 & Mark 6:34). God doesn't want us to feel this pain and He wants us to hand it to Him. Sometimes, those hardships are what makes us closer to God.

    • @room2growrose623
      @room2growrose623 5 лет назад

      Yes the devil can do bad things, but he is not the cause of ALL bad things. Some bad things are the result of the fallenness of creation. Things like diseases and illness. The New Testament makes it clear that we will have trouble in this life. Some sects of Christianity believe that God is always punishing them for bad choices, but God makes it very clear that He “disciplines in love”, and that He only disciplines those whom He loves, as a parent who cares for their child enough to make them understand that a poor choice has consequences would. For a person in rebellion or walking apart from God it’s different, they are simply suffering the consequences of their poor choices. So everything isn’t God punishing, nor is it satan torturing.

    • @room2growrose623
      @room2growrose623 5 лет назад +1

      Rick Ranger diseases are unfortunately a result of the fallen creation. The Bible tells us in Romans 8:19-23 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
      19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God; 20 for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and will obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning in labor pains until now; 23 and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies.

    That's a half-truth at best. Sure we make bad choices but God always works around our bad choices anyway (for the good). Sin entered the world b/c of bad choices. That's a bit different than suffering. Sometimes we suffer from people's choices, and sometimes we suffer from our own attitudes and choices, but that is not the complete reason - or a good explanation- for suffering. Our world is messed up, yes, but God still sees it all... is in control of it all... and He cares the most of anyone you will ever meet. Just because people can do what they want does not mean that God does not care to protect you. You may be saying "well, He didn't protect me from what I'm going through now or what my friend is going through now." And there's a reason for that but it doesn't mean you've done something wrong and he's punishing you or someone else if that's what you're thinking. It's not because he doesn't love you or care for you. God allows suffering sometimes to turn us from something that is destructive in the long run when nothing else works - when he can't get a hold of you so to speak by calling - b/c we typically turn to him in the most desperate of situations. If I could say 1 thing to you, it would be: He loves you so much. God is telling you that today. And a lot of you won't believe it, but if he could say just one thing to you that you would hear, it would be, "I LOVE YOU, CHILD! Just come home!" suffering doesn't mean you've done something wrong; it's not always the case that He uses circumstances to get our attention or to drive us to our knees - actually, thats hardly ever the case; that's like last-resort sort of stuff. God doesn't prefer to hurt you first; He prefers to have you just listen. But because He wants you bad enough, sometimes He will take those things into play - bad things for your good (even eventual good). It's not that God put the suffering directly into your life, but perhaps He allowed it in such a case to get your attention b/c he wants you to know how much He loves you more than anything else. And if He can get your attention, He can speak to you, and tell you. Half the time suffering is in our lives to produce perseverance in Christ - not to destroy us. God doesn't want to hurt us... but he WILL use whatever he can to bring us closer to himself (which is bliss beyond that word) and make us more like Christ - of course for anyone who wants that. He would never let something happen to you that you couldn't bear and never force anything on you. He OFFERS perfect gifts and perfect, peaceful relationship(s) - with Him and with people - and perfect peace in itself and people to care for you and many other things - like His promise not to leave you or forsake you. Which essentially promises suffering as a joy - because suffering can bring us closer, and when you understand that He loves you... I bet you've heard that one before and you are probably tired of hearing it. But I know that if suffering will bring me closer to this Love I've experienced, then I'm going for it - that's how great this joy is! It's surprisingly true - even for me. If God loves you, then obviously He does not want bad things for you - but He wants you to excel in life and to have a close relationship with Him. We as humans are incapable of reconciling ourselves to our holy creator, and so because He loved us, God put his son on earth to live a perfect life, teach us what He is really like, and love us unconditionally - which taught us how to live like Him too. The last thing God in human form did was take our sins upon himself, sacrifice himself to death as a faultless offering for all time, and then rise from death. Jesus rising from death is significant b/c it means that He conquered death. Which means He conquered our sin. Once and for all and forever (Then he taught His disciples in his resurrected body for 40 days before ascending to heaven,) Which means that suffering can now be seen a tool to help us know Him more and trust Him more - because we are now free from sin -which of course is offensive if you don't know that He loves you. Of course you wouldn't want to trust or know anyone whom you think hates you. I think that's why so many people seem offended and so rejecting at the idea that God Almighty loves them. I understand that in full. I didn't always believe in Jesus and still struggle like everyone else on this earth. We are all human. Some people don't seem to realize that anymore - and I may not be taking to you! Maybe you're a nice person and I'm not discrediting you but I want to tell you that God didn't NEED us. He WANTED us. He made us to share in the party of love and perfect relationship that He already had inside of himself as the trinity. He made us and everything else as an OVERFLOW- not because He was bored. Therefore, the joy we have before us is nothing compared to the suffering we experience now. And if we quicken our minds and spirits to hear voice, we'll have peace and that joy now! Thank you if you have read this long comment. I'm not trying to preach too much but this video just disturbed me BIGTIME.... no wonder the comments r not too lovely! I get that completely!

    I've been a Christian all my life until two weeks ago I really hit a rough patch. My life is doing fine, but I easily get depressed over the terrible suffering of others. You're approach is that God allows suffering of billions throughout history to satisfy his need or simple curiosity if the human race would love him if given a choice. That sounds selfish. If he is omnipotent wouldn't he know the answer? He created us, he knows our nature.

      He does know our nature and that is to destroy things and blame others for it. In light of suffering God is there waiting to help you out but he can't force his help on you that would be oppressive. Jesus died so he can change our nature. So why do bad this still happen to us? Because there is still the devil. If you believe in God you have to also believe in the devil. Now God is all good. And just ask Him to help and He'll turn everything for your good. "Everything works TOGETHER for good for those that love God and are called according to His purpose" right. It says there everything works together. Now the single events might be devastating. Trust me I know. But when you trust God with it He will amaze you with what he can do with your problem.

    Allah let bad things happen to test our faith. He told us already in the Quran. If you feel what you belong is only a trust & they are temporary, the pain is not so deep. For example when someone you love pass away. He belongs to God. Sometimes we see bad things from our own perspective but other creatures look at it is a good luck. For example when you cancel a picnic bcoz it is raining. For the trees & plants it is good. What about in the animal perspective? Allah let us slaughter them for food & take their eggs & milk. They never complain as Allah let bad things happen to them. We had been reminded through our prophets (Islam or christian) that this life is a test. So don see what we hv as our belongings. We are to manage the trust given only. If u are rich, Allah will ask how you manage your wealth. Do you help the poors or give zakat? If you are given good health, when you die Allah will ask how you manage your good health. And so on...and so on...

    if you are threatened with hell, it's not a free choice. It's like someone holding a gun to your head saying, you can love me or I can shoot you. your choice.

    • @saronkeflu2803
      @saronkeflu2803 9 лет назад +11

      The problem is you are wrong. Think of it this way. There is a storm coming and you are swimming on a beach. Someone comes and says "if you stay here you're toast but come with me to that shelter there." Now he isn't threatening you with the storm so you can go with him. The storm will be there whether you go with the guy or not. In the same way God didn't threaten you with hell so "you can love him". Heaven and hell exist. And at the state you are its like you are still swimming when the storm comes. You won't be going to heaven. Now God is saying come to me, I'm your unshakable shelter. So you can choose to go or stay there. But unlike our storm scenario God took the hit from that storm for you. Now all he is asking is that you enjoy what he died to give you. That is total peace, joy and eternal life.

    • @ellyarrow
      @ellyarrow 9 лет назад +4

      Yeah, no. the abrahamic god is legislature, judiciary and executive. if he is the creator of the system, he is the creator of the 'storm'. he is responsible for sin, for the devil, etc - because he foresaw it all and could have prevented it all. Not that I believe that any of that is true, but you do. If god existed and were omniscient, omnipotent and omnibenevolent then the world would be a much nicer place. One of those three things he cannot be, if he exists. if you believe in hell and you believe god foresaw everything, planned everything and created everything, than he is responsible for hell. Sorry, there's no way to paraphrase that without you having to let go of one of the many attributes of your deity. so which one is it?

    • @saronkeflu2803
      @saronkeflu2803 9 лет назад +5

      He did create the "storm" but not for you! He is responsible for the creating angels but He isn't responsible for their rebellion. In the same was the devil was created because he rebelled because Adam disobeyed God so sin entered the world. And God is all knowing and all powerful. He created a perfect world but gave everyone free will. Because an angel rebelled he was kicked out of heaven and now you know of his as the devil. And because man rebelled sin came to the world so if you think about it God didn't create sin and the devil. But He foresaw everything why didn't he stop it? God created us "according to his image and likeness" (genesis 1) so if God is a free being with full free will, that's what we were created to be. Since God has free will he created us according to his likeness therefore we have free will. If we didn't or if he counteracted every mistake we made then you'd call him oppressive and a dictator.

    • @ellyarrow
      @ellyarrow 9 лет назад +1

      If your god were all-knowing, than he would have known the angels would rebel --> thus its his responsibility.
      Yeah, free will is so wonderful. And oh, the unconditional love that comes with a punishment if its not accepted. How loving to send people to eternal torture (even though when your deity created them he knew beforehand that they would fail to obey him).
      If your deity were real, than he'd be an oppressive dictator. "Obey me or be punished eternally" - it's your choice. The gun comparison still stands. Seriously - no being, that rules over this world can be omniscient, omnipotent AND omnibenevolent.

      Okay I don't think you understand what I been trying to say. He did know Angels would rebel and humans as well. He knew where sin led, if you are unholy you can't stand in front of a holy God and be okay. That's why Jesus came. Because God loves the world so much He gave His one and only son for you and me so even though he knew you'd rebel He still wanted to save us. Now the difference is that are you willing to accept that sacrifice. Because whether you care to knowledge it or not that love offer still stands. Jesus did die for you and now if you accept Him (and not a religion) God chooses to pardon all your sins because Jesus became sin and died so that you might be the righteousness of God. So He isn't an oppressive dictator but rather a loving God who wants to be a father to you. Trust me even I tried religion and it didn't work for me. But Jesus isn't a religion He is a person and He wants personal relationship with you. I mean you gotta ask your self "who am I that God thought I was worth dying for".

    Why are we here on earth?
    For me, we are here for a test. Yes, if we pass we will be living with God in Eternal Life, if not, then we'll go to 👇. So God lets bad things happen to us in order to see if we can pass the His test and to be with Him or not. Our life here on earth is temporary. Everyone has different time limits, it explains the differences in ages of human death. So it is important to be ready anytime whenever our time over has come.

    Maybe God should actually talk and give you the power to choose the right path instead of letting you fall on your face when things are too late. It's kind of questionable that he doesn't speak physically in thousands of years.
