we have some persian restaurants here in germany and I usually always go there while I was at work or when I go shopping cuz the food is just so good. They do rice like no other, seriously. Tho I'm vegetarian so they usually give me eggplants in some sauce or some spinache quich. It's super delicious

The kyros from Greece and doner from Turkey look a like and I know they are not from Iran. Her saying " Thats right, we are influenced by them a lot" is not raight (at 4:17) . We may have som similar foods but she can't just go around and call it " a lot" , Iran has exsisted why to long for her to say that. It's a very lighthearted video, but I get why she wants the confirmation of the food being good and whether they liked it or not. Or as she said 'patriotic'. We've been put in the wrong spotlight with a bad rep for a long time. We'd like to represent our country and the beauty and charms of it when we get the chance to. And because of that we might have a very eager, passionate and a strong personality, not aggressive...
So I hope we can slowly fix the misconceptions and acquire the understanding that the government/ruler does not equal to the people. Just like how park geun hye did not represent all koreans.

  • @graciie77

I love how cultures blend as borders are only political and change. You can find similarities in culture and cuisine in neighbouring countries. She said "The food is influenced by Greece and Turkey" but i think it's a cultural blend and you can't really tell what came from where, escpecially in central Eurasia. To take in account the Ottoman colonization and slavery is also needed. No way to not get unfluenced. In the Balkan we have our own version of Kebab and we have Kyufte. Dyuner we also have but pretty different than the turkish Doner and the greek Gyros.
Our area-the Meddierenian, the Balkan, the Arab peninsula have interacted and been populated for a long long time. Some of the oldest in the world artifacts have been found here- the oldest processed gold in the world is in Bulgaria, the Balkan and oldest written laws are in the Arab peninsula(Babylone) and many ,many more great things. Love how we interacted but still kept uniqueness to our cultures.
Overall we're a nice blend here, mostly about the food.
    Love from Bulgaria

Some interesting facts about Iranian cuisine:
🍋 Iranian cuisine is a rice-based cuisine served with a lot of different stews that have a unique taste and look to them. Iranian cuisine is NOT similar/influenced by the cuisine of Turkey or Greece at all. It is very different.
🍋 The national dish of Iran is called Ghormeh Sabzi. It is a very delicious green stew.
🍋 Kabab (it's not "Kebab" in Persian) originated in Iran and Iranians have some of the savoriest Kabab dishes! The way Iranians prepare Kabab and the meat used for it (Iranians use lamb, not beef) is very different from other cultures' cuisines which have adopted this Iranian cooking method of grilling meat.
🍋 Iranian dishes are NOT spicy. They are sour in taste with a sweet component. Something you might even have taken away from the video. Iranians can handle eating extremely sour and acidic foods quite well. The sourer, the better we say! 😄🍋
🍋 The foods that originated on the Iranian plateau (Iran is a very mountainous country with a lot of unique nature) are pomegranates, lemons, rose peddles, saffron, pistachios, walnuts, spinach and barberries. These are naturally very acetous.
🍋 While Iranians absolutely adore bread and bake many traditional variations of it, bread is not a central component of Iranian cuisine. That is rice. The word "rice" in English comes from Persian.
    Thanks! ❤️
