This is really not the content I expected to see from you, but I’m loving it 😂 Thank you for your service. I hope you get sponsored by something that provides a palette cleanser!
My guess is it is just Cheetos without the powdered cheese flavor. You can get the biodegradable packing peanuts, which are just extruded corn starch, that are exactly like unflavored Cheetos. So a company (could be the same one) got their hands on some used extruders used to make packing peanuts, switched the nozzle to a doughnut, and made cereal out of it.
Hahahaha love this. Confession… I did a paid promo spot for this cereal. When I was heavy into keto… loved the hell out of these with unsweetened almond milk. Just the fruity ones though. PB & chocolate are not great at all
A RUclipsr I believed to be trustworthy was sponsored by them and as such I figured I'd give it a try. I regret everything and find it very hard to trust any sponsored videos
@@KamarleyBlake I've been tempted a couple times to try them and have always held off and I'm glad I did. Thank you for your service as well as Gerald's!
Thank you for doing this-- seeing people that I trust to review heavily marketed products that probably don't live up to the hype. Definitely would continue to watch a series like this.
Ay Gerald, I love this way to much! First off, I love the fact that you are making content that YOU want to make regardless of genre or niche. I know you spoke about creating with this freedom in the past. Glad to see it! Secondly, I had plans to buy magic spoon. You just saved me time, money, and a new toothbrush lol. Thanks bro 💪🏿💪🏿
I purchased a variety pack of this cereal a few years ago because a RUclipsr suggested the product was fabulous. Magic Spoon was a sponsor of the video (a VERY popular Tesla channel with > 1M subscribers) and the RUclipsr raved about the cereal. I thought the cereal was disgusting chemical-flavored glue and threw it all out after trying it on 3-different occasions. I also unsubscribed from the RUclipsr that promoted the cereal and never watched another one, as I knew that they do not tell the truth.
I've tried several of these and I like a couple of them. I also stopped eating regular cereal years ago because the amount of sugar in them is absolutely insane, so I probably have a different frame of reference for these than many people. I've also shared them, and what I've found about these is two things: First, flavors tend to be very divisive, you generally either like them or hate them and which ones you like/hate vary from person to person. Second, the milk makes the cereal work, I really don't recommend these dry. I know you guys were trying to "play by the rules" but unless you're already used to that milk I don't think I'd recommend that. In my opinion, the Not Fruit Loops and the Maple Waffle (which you guys didn't have) are the best. I like Cinnamon Roll, but it has a slight after taste. The Frosted ones are absolutely repulsive to me. The Cocoa tastes more like cocoa powder that you'd use in baking than a chocolaty cereal. My girlfriend seems to like the Peanut Butter, but I tried to salvage the cocoa by mixing them and it was slightly better than either alone, but still generally bad. They also make cereal bars - stay away, or just eat the cardboard box they come with too and think of it like a free extra cereal bar. And you should be getting 4-5 servings out of these boxes, but you probably need to measure it out when you pour your cereal. A serving is one cup, and most people, especially in the US probably think a serving is about twice what it actually is. The price is steep compared to the sugary garbage in your cereal isle at the grocery store, but still, it comes in less than $2 per meal for a serving of this plus regular milk.
Totally agree about the dangers of eating substances that particle based (i.e. were crushed to a powder before being built into the crunchy ball things we call cereal) and the consequences of having their original state be resumed at time of eating...i.e. "it doesn't come out" and then can become the basis for tooth decay...even if it doesn't have much sugar in it, which would be even worse course.
Fruity is definitely the best one. I’m used to lots of protein powder recipes, so the sticky nature of that wetted ingredient is something I acclimated to along with the taste. It’s definitely a luxury item - for healthy eating, people are better off just having pasture raised eggs for breakfast. Whole foods are always better.
Man, thank you. This video had to be made. I fell for the RUclipsrs raving about it in their ads...got the variety pack as well and the aftertaste is just SO bad. None of them tasted good enough to cost as much as they do either.
YES. More of this. I'm sure I don't need to tell you this, there's too much data heavy camera and filmmaking content on YT so things that you are actually interested in outside of cameras and filmmaking is always gonna get my watch. Why learn about filmmaking just to make only stuff about filmmaking and nothing else. Cheers.
Awesome video. I've been watching you for a while and I really like when you make unexpected videos like this and the soap one. I can't wait till I have enough subscribers to where I can start branching out like this.
I think this is a really great idea for a RUclips series, but what I think would make it really super special as if you did an actual “Gerald undone” review, meaning you did a hard-core review on a casual product rather than a casual review on a casual product. So instead of doing the Rhett and link version of a cereal review, you would do a Doug DeMuro version since you are already like the Doug DeMuro of camera reviews. I think it would be funnier. but you do you and we’ll still love your stuff regardless!

Love the video. I've been wondering about this cereal since I first heard about it. I know almond milk uses a ton of water to grow the almonds and people have said almond milk is not environmentally friendly, but unsweetened soy milk is 🤮. Soy milk was the first "alternative" milk my wife and I used when we stopped drinking cow milk back in the 1990s. But we both thought it was gross. Then we switched to Rice Dream which I liked. Since then we've tried oat milk, almond milk, etc. Everyone has their own preference and it doesn't sound like this cereal is very good no matter what milk you use, but unsweetened soy milk is disgusting. Thank you for the content. Guess I'll be sticking with the Barbara's cereals.
2:07 From the cereal ads I remember often they depicted cereal bits splashing into a bowl of milk in slo-mo. I, of course, found this absolutely heretical.
I had to say no to this promo offer from them because I haven't eaten cereal since I was in 6th grade - I make sure that I only do promo videos of products that I actually have used and liked.
I'm surprised how much you hated it! I got two or three boxes for free from someone who's sponsored and I just ate them like a snack with no milk. It's definitely different from "real" cereal but as a low cal snack for bodybuilders I enjoyed it. That being said I would NEVER buy it because it's so expensive.
That was awesome! I’ve been curious about this for a while now since they sponsor so many things in the RUclips sphere and I’m not about to drop that kind of money on cereal.
I’m cautiously awaiting the Manscaped review…
