    I've never thought about connecting my iOS/iPad devices to ethernet. I'm sure that will be beneficial for gaming! cheers!

      Alright, Tone. In my bedroom, which is also my RUclips studio :) I can't pick up the wifi signal from my router in the living room that well. However, I do have a switch/hub in my bedroom that connects to the router in the living room via ethernet. So all the stuff I use in my RUclips Studio/bedroom :) is usually connected via ethernet. Cheers, Dave.

    Interesting little adapter. I’ve long wondered why a large case manufacturer hasn’t produced iPad cases with Ethernet adapters built in.

      Yes, you’re right. Given that you can get cases with batteries in them, it is surprising that no one has done more added features/hardware to the cases. Cheers, Dave.

    Cool little adapter. I've seen iPad setups that connect to thunderbolt hubs, but not a direct accessory.
    Wonder how much of an edge it gives you in online games 😁

      Alright, Kevin. I use USB C hubs on my iPads. There’s defo lower latency for me when gaming using the wired connection, my home wireless isn’t strong in my RUclips Studio (bedroom) 😂 But I do have a switch that connects to my router via Ethernet for my computers, which I use for my iPads. Cheers, Dave.

      Hi. That sounds like there may be a problem with the ethernet adapter or it's not compatible with your iPhone. If you switch off WiFi and mobile data on your iPhone, so it has no way of connecting to the internet, then plug in the adapter, does it connect to the internet. If so, that may suggest that things are working but the iPhone isn't showing the connection. Cheers, Dave.

    I saw a same product for android devices an the lag were arround 15%-20% less than WiFi... I just watched your video with your M2 and.. CoDM keep it -+50ms (of course! it isn't ththe only fact to take a opinion) but what do you think?

    • @DavidHarry
      @DavidHarry  Год назад

      That lag in the CoD video is the internet latency, not the Wi-Fi latency, there are two types of latency/lag when we talk about these things.

      No no, the thing is ms ping, I played games over Wi-fi on PlayStation 5 and it hung on the servers, although speedtest gave out 120 mbps, connected an old 15 years Lan cable to PlayStation 5 and gave out 50mbps, but it became much better than over wifi 80 mbps

    10/100 mbps in 2022/2023 is honestly pathetic. These new smart phones can take full advantage of 1gbps lan. Nearly every single router or switch has 1gbps ports and even if your internet isn't that fast a lot of different speeds offered at affordable prices are above 100mbps

      Hi Antoni. It’s a limitation of the Lightning interface. The sooner Apple go to USB C on iPhone, the better. Lightning is basically USB2, which was already old 10 years ago. Cheers, Dave.
