Growing up in the 70,s, it wasn't a real party unless Earth Wind and Fire was in the mix.
I don't know who designed lead singer Maurice White's outfit but it's so perfect for him. Love it! I dare anyone to be in a bad mood after listening to this song. EW&F is always so uplifting.
Three and a half minutes of unbridled JOY! Never fails to lift you up.
This is the kind of music my mom listens to when she cleans house, she's been doing it ever sense I can remember and I'm 54yrs. old so a looong time. She still listens to these guys when cleaning house, she now dances more than cleans nowadays but the fact that at 75yrs old she still rocks out makes me hold out some hope I'll be doing the same at that age 😁😁😁😁😁.
Absolutely YES more Earth, Wind & Fire. They are one of THE best R&B groups of the 70s! I absolutely love this band!!!

No other song makes me as happy as this one does. And for that reason alone, it's my opinion this is the greatest song ever made. Plus that's my mom's b-day.❤❤

I was a bartender during most of the 70's in discos while living at the beach. Dancing behind the bar all night, making $, Beach all day long. Life was fine.
I played this for my 16yr old on her birthday, September 21, but she wasn't impressed. Oh well. I love it and Earth Wind & Fire!!!!!

They are still around, just saw them not too long ago at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, at least 3 of the original members are still performing, still sound the same just as good, the music was still fire 🔥…..

They are great. Saw them back in the day and they killed it. If you wanna slow it down some, you gotta listen to " Devotion". That is one of my favorites. Beautiful song.
Sweet! And the audio quality is there too. I bought the single for "September" when it was new. 7 inch, 45 rpm. The label was red if I remember correctly. I was in seventh or eighth grade. Heh. I don't remember when it happened but the song became a wedding song by the nineties. I saw them in concert in 1999, in perhaps a reconstituted form I suppose, but Maurice White and Philip Bailey. They were great and I had a great time. "September" was one of many iconic tunes Earth, Wind & Fire released in the seventies -- "Mighty Mighty", "Shining Star", "Reasons", "That's the Way of the World", "Fantasy", "Got to Get You into My Life"...

Myself and my friends were into Zeppelin, Sabbath, ACDC, Rush, etc. But, I never understood why they trashed Funk and R&B. I guess it was part of the anti-disco movement. (Also, our frontal lobes weren't fully developed, so rational thought was sporadic at best.) EW&F, Sly and the Family Stone, Parliament, Stevie Wonder just to name a few, were/are fantastic. Good music is good music.
This is only ONE of many big hits from EWF. Take a deep EWF dive. You'll do yourself a favor ❤
