Fr, you can’t tell me this is acting, this had to happen before, I don’t see an actor, I see a brave father doing whatever it takes to make sure his child is safe, even if means killing himself
@@PokeBoi_TJ yeah! He was so great I’m John Q he almost made me cry. But training day he was very sinister, almost the exact opposite here. I can’t definitely see why he won but yeah he should have won for this
I saw this movie when i was 12. I have never forgotten it and i never will. I also use the line, I'm not going to bury my son, my son is going to bury me. As a father now i can tell you i would do everything he did to save my kid.
I'll be honest I cried the first time I watch this. Then, I saw it again after I had my little girl and I absolutely broke down blubbering like a little baby. This whole movie really is all about what a dad is supposed to be. John was willing to give his life and his death for his child. That's what Daddy is supposed to do😢
It's very simple : this scene is just acting in the highest level, one of the greatest i saw in my life . Mr denzel Washington is one of the best actors of all time, and this scene is another example of that . The actor who played his son also did a great job in this movie . This movie is one of my favourites.
"You're too young for girls right now, but theres going to come a time, and when it does, you treat them like princesses, because thats what they are."
My dads in the hospital possibly amputating his leg due to diabetes complications .... not being able to be there for him during this covid pandemic breaks my soul. I can only imagine how John was feeling at this moment
“…When you say you’re gonna do something…you do it…”… definitely words I try to live by. His film catalog as an actor is one of the best. What really got me in this scene was under all what seemed to be irrational desperation was just love. He felt guilty about the effort that was not enough. They lived check to check, and because he didn’t have a degree or college education… he always felt like his family had less of a chance. And much credit to Kimberly Elise cause she’s phenomenal in her own right. But if they gone be doin all these memes about women sticking beside they man…her face shoulda been posted on every damn one. 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🖤🖤🖤🖤🥀
Parents dragged me to the theater as a kid to see this, now im 27 crying my heart out to this scene cuz it means so much more to me now. The love of a good parent is truly indescribable.
This shows how far a father would go to save his child n for me that shows a father n son's bond is unbreakable.....Denzel Washington is one of the greatest actor in the planet
the movie as a whole might not have been considered “great”... but Denzel’s performance in it was, exceedingly so. Could have and probably should have been nominated for an Oscar.
This scene brings tears to my eyes as a father. I know this thread is full of these gushing compliments, but my God, Denzel is just sensational. What an amazing actor. One of the best.
That saddest part about this scene is that he is telling his son to sell out to make money. He has to tell him this cause we let poor people die in this country when they get sick. It's pathetic
This is one of The Best Denzel Washington's moments it is so touching a Father And A Son moment I should have done that with my Father but sometimes things doesn't Quite turn out right but I can Relate to this movie it's just a Powerful moment between them
There are two things about this scene that stand out. 1. The love of a father for his son 2. There is something poignant to the image of a boy burying his father Fathers when you say you're gonna do something, do it. Men without children remember your word is your bond. Sons when that hour comes, when you have to say goodbye remember he loved you and he wanted the best for you. For the sons with fathers who didn't care or weren't there for them, be there for someone else. Some say we live in a time where there are no good men, they just don't know where to look. Be that man, be a good man because who else will be.
My son was 1 when this movie came out. I loved my son more than I loved myself. I was willing to lay my life down for him at any time cause that’s the love I have for him. I truly understood this movie as a father.
This is one of the best movie, great storyline, and amazing actor, DW...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I love this movie; I have watch a zillion times, and never get tired of it.
I watched this movie when my daughter was little. She had heart issues. This is the exact way I felt. I cried through most of the movie. Could not stop crying. Thankfully she didn't die. I think she was about 10 then. She died in 2019 of cancer. ❤❤ 😢😢😢😢😢
And money, you make money if you get a chance . Even if you gotta sell out every once in a while, you make as much money as you can. Don't be stupid like your father. Everything is so much easier with money, son.
this movie should've gotten nominated for oscar it was very emotional and powerful in way why denzel is one of the greatest of our generation.
I KNOW> ugh
Oscars suck its rigged biased
I always said that. I believe he was better in this than training day
It wasn't gonna get one based on the ratings it got
Critics hated the movie back then. It makes no sense because the audiences loved it.
Advice of a lifetime, Denzel will always be one of the greatest actors of all time.
Yes his acting is so good it brings you to tears

Very true

@@BadassMoFo. I commented this a year ago so I rlly don’t know if I did or didn’t but either way, why does it matter?
When you say you're going to do something, you do it.
And Dammit! and if you can't do it, don't even said it.
Let your yes be yes
This breaks my heart every time I see it. This man is the greatest actor alive.
That title belongs to Sylvester Stallone
@@GuitarGangsterArmi nah definitely Denzel
Dental Washington is a godly man, the world needs more people like him. He’s an actor sent by god
I’ll say it now and I’ll say it again. This is Denzel’s best acting performance ever. So much raw emotion it felt like it his son was actually dying

What a movie! Denzel is such an amazing actor, this scene always gets me.. 😢
You can tell Denzel put his own children in this scene when acting it. I wonder how many takes to get it right.
When you're father...zero takes.

This scene is so emotional because he’s trying to give advice that a father would give to his son throughout his life in just a matter of minutes..🥺
Absolutely heartbreaking
Nothing gets past you does it
"You're too young for girls right now, but theres going to come a time, and when it does, you treat them like princesses, because thats what they are."
Nowadays the social justice freaks would be like "how dare he assume who hes going to be attracted to!"

Yes they are..
Worst advice ever. Becareful of women son would have been better.
I used to believe that about the girls. Now I know better
One of the realist scenes .. Denzel always amazing in his performances ...

I hope your father is doing ok
Oh man ... your situation is really hard, I hope (in the name of God) your father be ok.

I remember watching this with my mom. The few times I cried with her. This is soo deep
This is one of my favorite scenes in movie history.
This deserves an Oscar Denzel is amazing in all the movies he plays in
Denzel realist
I have never seen a bad movie that denzel has stared in
One of the most under recognized performances of this generation
You know you're a father if this gets you in your feelings.
I am a kid but it definitely does

At the 1:35 to 2:30 min mark. As real as it gets 💯🙏👌 words to live by.
A father MUST speak to his son like this from a early age, your seed, he’s the heir to your throne! Tell your first born son everything flaws and all
You treat them like princesses
Because that's what they are
