Really great video! Can I move one of my investments into a pie I have already made?
Thank you Jessica! Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible to move a current investment into a pie.
Great video. I have only just started on trading 212 app and on some of my individual investments the companies do pay a dividend. My question is when they do pay does the money get sent to my free funds and then it is down to me to re-invest or keep? Is there not an option on the app for it to auto invest back in to the company?
Yes, when dividends are paid, they will put into your free funds and then it's up to you to reinvest. However, you can create a pie and enable autoinvest, but there will be a specific threshold to surpass, before the spare cash is automatically reinvested
I'm getting so frustrated trying to sort the recurring payments, should be simple but it seems they haven't updated their details etc... i can't see any account details to set up my standing orders
I have several questions as a complete beginner and cant seem to find a simple answer on reddit...
So with percentages, does it matter how much target weight i put on certain companies in the pie? E.g. a big company such as nvidia could have 25%, and Beyond Meat a smaller company so maybe 10%? Is this relevant or could i put any percentage on the companies as long as it adds to 100%.
If the actual weight of a company is over or under the target that ive set does this mean I have to rearrange the weights?
Or is it the case that it doesnt matter as long as the company percentages add to 100?
Also what is the recommended number of companies in a pie. I currently have 7 in one pie and 6 in another.
Nice video Jubair. I have a technical question. On my end screens when I choose recommended video option it actually shows most recent video to users and and when I chose most recent video option it actually shows recommended video instead.
Have you ever encountered this issue on your end screens?
Thanks Professor. I never had that issue actually, my guess is that it is working correctly, but when you watch with your own RUclips account, the end screens might act differently. Are you using a different account to check? I would suggest going "incognito" and checking if the end screens function as you intend them to. You can go incognito mode via the RUclips app or via desktop chrome.
@@Dr.JubairsFinance thanks I’ll give that a try
Did that seem to work?
Great content! - I have a question though.. I created an investment for an EFT (Vangaurd S & P 500) it shows up under my investments tab.. how can i move this into a pie?
I believe that you have to create a pie first and add the ETF, I don't think there is a way of transferring it to a pie now, but I could be wrong.
Thanks@@Dr.JubairsFinance
What are the fees charged for the owning the pie? And do you have any videos about the Wisedomtree model pies?
There are no extra fees for the pies, just what is baked into each fund. No wisdomtree pie unfortunately.
If you choose to reinvest dividends, are they held together with other non used funds or seperated/dedicated and will be used when possible?
If you're investing in a pie, they should be held as cash within the pie, you can do what you like with this cash.
Can you take profit from "one slice" of the pie? say Microsoft is up can you take the profit form just Microsoft and leave the rest of the pie as is? or can you only sell the whole pie? thanks
You can go into the company and sell however many shares you want, yes. But it will change the balance of the entire pie. There is also an auto balancing feature for when some companies perform much better/worse than others.
When I set standing order from my bank what account number I have to fill
It's all there in the app, which account number to send to!
Hi would you recommend dividends or index funds or both
I can't recommend anything as that would sound like financial advice, but either could be a great way to start your investing journey, you could always mix and match
I don’t like how the reinvested dividends go into all stocks/ETFs in the pie as opposed to wholly into the stock/ETF that paid the dividend
Usually you can get ETFs that automatically reinvest dividends. That might solve your problem.
@@Dr.JubairsFinance I wanted to invest in individual stocks through the pie and have the dividends reinvested into the stock that paid it but it’s not possible. E.G. if I have 20 stocks in a pie included non-dividend stocks like Tesla then the dividend reinvested will effectively go into the pie % split (including buying a fraction of Tesla)
The answer is to not use a pie but then I have to click buy 20 times as opposed to once.
do i need to pay once for tax?
Tax is paid every year unfortunately
How to sell a piece of your pie (stock)?
Go into the Pie. There is a heading called "holdings", under this menu, you can select the individual company as the pie slices, and you can sell as you normally would.
@@Dr.JubairsFinance thank you. I have tried to sell but I can’t. There isn’t this option there. Only available option is rebalance.
Works for me. I think the customer service will help you if you ask
T212 desktop has no pie library
Oh really? Need to look into that, there's a beta version off the desktop, might have it
The Pie function is glytchy as fook. Trade 212 staff go blank on you when it doesn't execute your order 😡
That is a shame. However, it is seriously worth mentioning that an order will only execute if there is a recipient wiling to buy that same order you are selling, otherwise nothing will happen. Just because you put in a limit order at a specific price, and it hits that, doesn't mean that there was anyone willing to sell at a specific time, I hope this helps.
@@Dr.JubairsFinance I can still buy the instrument individually but not in the Pie
Individual holdings have much higher chance of executing. When you have multiple holdings in a pie and want a specific price, it just adds to the complication. That being said, I don't really invest in pies anyway.
