You have to get a financial-advisor/broker to aid you diversify your portfolios to include commodities, inflation-indexed bonds and stocks of companies with solid cash flows, as opposed to growth stocks where valuations were based on future potential earnings.

I've been thinking about investing for a few years now, But wanted to focus on saving a deposit for a house. Got the deposit so now looking at investing and my brother sent me the trading 212 link. So thought I'd look more into 212. Loving this channel. I have just finished uni with a BA Hons in Economics and Bus. Management and have always wanted to use it to jump onto the stock market, but sadly my degree barely covered it. This channel is helping provide me with the knowledge of investment so I can couple them both for long-term success. Just an idea, but you could cover Hargreaves Lansdown and maybe do a comparison between Vanguard and HL. You mention that you've got an account sitting there with them, so it would be interesting to note why you moved to Vanguard and what trading with HL is like, in terms of fees, ease, options available to you, and layout. Keep up the good work ik this channel is going to explode one day
Hi Mate, I did a degree in business and had a similar experience of not knowing anything about investing when I came out. Yes i will defo cover HL at some point! but to answer your question I left HL due to how they handled and their involvement in the Neil Woodford scandal. I just didn't like how they approached the whole thing and felt their heavy promotion of his funds cost a lot of investors a lot of money.

Always happy to see a new video! Trading212 is good, but I refuse to use these new cheap brokers like Robinhood and T212. Something just makes me worry 😅 I personally use DEGIRO and HL.
hahah yes i used to share this concern, but honestly the FSCS thing is all the reassurance I need. I can honestly see the likes of 212 outpacing HL in terms of user numbers in the coming years if they dont evolve

Given theses limits have stood for some years now, how might you begin to lobby the FCSC's paltry £85k limit. Given ISA utilization for tax sheltering and, as such, is required to be a long-term deal. Surely it's time these limits were raised for such investment requirements?

Now, I have a Vanguard ISA, but after watching your vid I am not seeing a financial downside to having my ISA with Trading 212 and just purchasing Vanguard Index Funds through the T212 app. Wouldn't I be better off doing this, on the off chance that I also have some success with short term investing in individual stocks? Hi! Thanks so much for your kind words on the videos made up that you think they are improving! So if i am being honest in April I will probably be switching to 212 or freetrade as my main ISA provider for the points you have highlighted here. These platforms have come out of nowhere really and just completely changed the game. I want the ability to both invest in index funds and pounce on short term stuff inside of an ISA. But i also think it is wise to open a new ISA each year with a different provider so you can build different pots with different providers that all have their own 85k cover with the FSCS. I can see that by the time i retire i will have a far few pots like 5/6 all with different providers all with the 85k cover. Hope that helps and isn't too confusing! Thanks Damo

They make it by people using the CFD side of the business so they offer a free ISA so loads of people come across and then the small few who gamble on CFDs pay for everyone else. Like free drinks in a casino

Yes! i will defo look at this for you. A sneak peak, there is an argument that the majority of the increase in value in the stock market is actually from dividends being reinvested. So say up to 80% Growth is like trying to guess if house prices will rise, whereas dividends is like collecting the rent, bit more predictable. I will add this video to my list mate Damo
Hi Greta, That depends on how much you earn. You would need to earn more than £12,000 in capital gains (growth in the stock) before you had to pay tax, or more than £2,000 in dividend payments in a year. So unless you have some serious gains, you are probably not at that level yet?

Hi Mate! thanks so much for the comment. I personally use ACC where i can, this means dividends are reinvested for you automatically, but if it is just an INC fund i just reinvest them myself. It more the process of reinvesting dividends into more shares allowing you to increase your position and then get more dividends, rinse, repeat. it is that process that is important for long term growth.
I blew my account multiple times trying to trade alone, the losses I incurred made me believe trading was actually a dead end not until I made 7 times on my trading capital in 3 weeks and with the market making large moves and the support and mentoring I got from Mr. Michael, a renowned financial analyst and trader. He made me learn to read and understand the language of price action rather than relying on lagging indicators with vivid explanations on a learner-friendly platform. So my advice, fine a mentor and also, try incorporating the use of oscillator, Bollinger and pivot points into your strategy, also move to higher TFs (4h or 1D preferably) Thank me later. I highly recommend him, the brain behind my success. Pursuing trades with him has put me on the path of greatness. haha! nothing like the word ball ache to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside so Hl and Vanguard are better for the index fund style of investing. But if you want the ability to also buy REITs and shares in individual companies while still having the option of getting index funds. Then 212 or free trade are the way to go. Hope that helps mate! Hi Mate, I read the motley fool a lot for this sort of news. I tend not to watch too many youtubers on market news as they are often in a position where they need to release content so push everything as big news.
Greg one of our gang has informed me 212 are having issues with the referral codes. If you have not got your free share, follow the steps below! On t212 on the right hand tab, there's an option for "promo code". You just paste your referral code Gbassinv as the promo code and it works. According to the note I got from t212 you have to do it within 2 weeks of account opening, and it has been introduced as a temporary measure to solve issues of people's referral links not working. Only through mobile app
This hasn’t worked for me i on out opened my real account yesterday I had already had a practice account before hand but that shouldn’t affect it should it?

@@DamienTalksMoney Yes - I opened the account and funded it this morning. The box for the code only accepts uppercase letters. Not sure if that's the problem.
Honestly I used Vanguard after switching from HL as I was unsure about 212 and Freetrade is terms of choice of investments. They have bulked up their offering a lot this year, I will likely use one of them as my main ISA from April. I do think vanguard is better for the set it and forget it style of investing as the lack of app, stops you checking it all time,
Hi all - New starter here with Trading 212 and need a bit of advice as I cannot find relevant ETFs and Stocks even tho they are most popular in the world. So I have opened an ISA account today for tax purposes and I want to move my funds from Etoro to Trading212. However some of the most popular investment tools are not available. For instance I cannot find the biggest Vangurd fund VOO or real estate VNQ. Or best dividend etfs out there like SCHD, DGRO, HDV, SPDR etc Also clean energy like TAN, ICLN not there either What am I doing wrong? Thank you

@@stoicaalex90 No not at all VOO is an american stock listed on the american markets that tracks the S&P 500. VUSA does the exact same thing but it is listed on the UK markets. American funds work by different rules so different versions of the same thing are listed in the UK

Thank you so much! You can have 2 accoutns but only have 1 ISA that you pay into each year so one would need to be a General account which would then be subject to Capital gains tax and Dividends if over 12300 in gains and 2k in divs

I currently have an ISA Vanguard opened and I invest in it on a monthly basis, however, they don’t have any REITs ETF’s for the UK platform and I have recently opened a Trading 212 ISA account where I can buy REITs ETF’s and more. How does the 20k ISA allowance work if you have more than one ISA account opened? Can the 20k be an accumulation of the money you have paid into 2 ISA accounts in a financial year? When you invest in a stock the money has a limited time to be valid and you can lose your money after? How often do u have to make a deposit? I wonder if the money stays in the app or if you lose like gambling.
I can't see the option for ISA on my trading 212 app. Just invest and CFD. I played around with trading 212 a bit but now I have some disposable savings an ISA sounds fine. I prefer to manage myself rather than opening in a bank where they probably won't manage it with as much care as I would. How do I get the ISA option in trading 212? I need the tax free option and 20k limit is suitable for my investment.
So in the top left is a button you click and it should let you switch between the ISA, CFD and Invest account. If you cannot see this message customer support

A video idea could be how to create a diverse investment portfolio and what that might look like (REITs, ETFs... Etc ) I'd find that really helpful and maybe others would too.

Always happy to see a new video! Trading212 is good, but I refuse to use these new cheap brokers like Robinhood and T212. Something just makes me worry 😅 I personally use DEGIRO and HL.
hahah yes i used to share this concern, but honestly the FSCS thing is all the reassurance I need. I can honestly see the likes of 212 outpacing HL in terms of user numbers in the coming years if they dont evolve

Given theses limits have stood for some years now, how might you begin to lobby the FCSC's paltry £85k limit. Given ISA utilization for tax sheltering and, as such, is required to be a long-term deal. Surely it's time these limits were raised for such investment requirements?

Now, I have a Vanguard ISA, but after watching your vid I am not seeing a financial downside to having my ISA with Trading 212 and just purchasing Vanguard Index Funds through the T212 app. Wouldn't I be better off doing this, on the off chance that I also have some success with short term investing in individual stocks? Would love to know you thoughts on this, thanks!

Thanks so much for your kind words on the videos made up that you think they are improving! So if i am being honest in April I will probably be switching to 212 or freetrade as my main ISA provider for the points you have highlighted here. These platforms have come out of nowhere really and just completely changed the game.
I want the ability to both invest in index funds and pounce on short term stuff inside of an ISA. But i also think it is wise to open a new ISA each year with a different provider so you can build different pots with different providers that all have their own 85k cover with the FSCS. I can see that by the time i retire i will have a far few pots like 5/6 all with different providers all with the 85k cover.

They make it by people using the CFD side of the business so they offer a free ISA so loads of people come across and then the small few who gamble on CFDs pay for everyone else.

A sneak peak, there is an argument that the majority of the increase in value in the stock market is actually from dividends being reinvested. So say up to 80%
Growth is like trying to guess if house prices will rise, whereas dividends is like collecting the rent, bit more predictable. I will add this video to my list mate

That depends on how much you earn. You would need to earn more than £12,000 in capital gains (growth in the stock) before you had to pay tax, or more than £2,000 in dividend payments in a year.
So unless you have some serious gains, you are probably not at that level yet?

I personally use ACC where i can, this means dividends are reinvested for you automatically, but if it is just an INC fund i just reinvest them myself. It more the process of reinvesting dividends into more shares allowing you to increase your position and then get more dividends, rinse, repeat. it is that process that is important for long term growth.
I blew my account multiple times trying to trade alone, the losses I incurred made me believe trading was actually a dead end not until I made 7 times on my trading capital in 3 weeks and with the market making large moves and the support and mentoring I got from Mr. Michael, a renowned financial analyst and trader. He made me learn to read and understand the language of price action rather than relying on lagging indicators with vivid explanations on a learner-friendly platform. So my advice, fine a mentor and also, try incorporating the use of oscillator, Bollinger and pivot points into your strategy, also move to higher TFs (4h or 1D preferably) Thank me later. I highly recommend him, the brain behind my success. Pursuing trades with him has put me on the path of greatness. haha! nothing like the word ball ache to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside
so Hl and Vanguard are better for the index fund style of investing. But if you want the ability to also buy REITs and shares in individual companies while still having the option of getting index funds. Then 212 or free trade are the way to go.

Hi Mate, I read the motley fool a lot for this sort of news. I tend not to watch too many youtubers on market news as they are often in a position where they need to release content so push everything as big news.
Greg one of our gang has informed me 212 are having issues with the referral codes. If you have not got your free share, follow the steps below!
On t212 on the right hand tab, there's an option for "promo code". You just paste your referral code Gbassinv as the promo code and it works. According to the note I got from t212 you have to do it within 2 weeks of account opening, and it has been introduced as a temporary measure to solve issues of people's referral links not working. Only through mobile app
This hasn’t worked for me i on out opened my real account yesterday I had already had a practice account before hand but that shouldn’t affect it should it?

Honestly I used Vanguard after switching from HL as I was unsure about 212 and Freetrade is terms of choice of investments. They have bulked up their offering a lot this year, I will likely use one of them as my main ISA from April.
I do think vanguard is better for the set it and forget it style of investing as the lack of app, stops you checking it all time,
Hi all - New starter here with Trading 212 and need a bit of advice as I cannot find relevant ETFs and Stocks even tho they are most popular in the world.
So I have opened an ISA account today for tax purposes and I want to move my funds from Etoro to Trading212.
However some of the most popular investment tools are not available. For instance I cannot find the biggest Vangurd fund VOO or real estate VNQ. Or best dividend etfs out there like SCHD, DGRO, HDV, SPDR etc
Also clean energy like TAN, ICLN not there either

You are quoting American funds mate you just need to look for the U.K. versions . Voo in the U.K. is VUSA

@@stoicaalex90 No not at all VOO is an american stock listed on the american markets that tracks the S&P 500. VUSA does the exact same thing but it is listed on the UK markets. American funds work by different rules so different versions of the same thing are listed in the UK

If it has already risen 80% you are probably too late and it wont grow more.. Just because it has risen does not mean it will keep rising.

Thank you so much! You can have 2 accoutns but only have 1 ISA that you pay into each year so one would need to be a General account which would then be subject to Capital gains tax and Dividends if over 12300 in gains and 2k in divs

I currently have an ISA Vanguard opened and I invest in it on a monthly basis, however, they don’t have any REITs ETF’s for the UK platform and I have recently opened a Trading 212 ISA account where I can buy REITs ETF’s and more. How does the 20k ISA allowance work if you have more than one ISA account opened? Can the 20k be an accumulation of the money you have paid into 2 ISA accounts in a financial year? I don’t really understand how this works and it will me much appreciated if you can help me understand. I love your content and I can’t thank you enough for your videos. 🙏💕

I can't see the option for ISA on my trading 212 app. Just invest and CFD. I played around with trading 212 a bit but now I have some disposable savings an ISA sounds fine. I prefer to manage myself rather than opening in a bank where they probably won't manage it with as much care as I would. How do I get the ISA option in trading 212? I need the tax free option and 20k limit is suitable for my investment.
So in the top left is a button you click and it should let you switch between the ISA, CFD and Invest account. If you cannot see this message customer support
