Brilliant, many thanks!
Any news about the t-shirts? I want one!
first video of you for me
How much fucking shirts do you have
Put "That" on a t-shirt... Actually laughed out loud... Best visual gag I think I've ever seen... Thanks! Still smiling even now as I type this.
Glad you enjoy it 😊
Well you have got one of the most liked comments so if you want "that" t shirt email me on damientalksmoney @ gmail.com
@@DamienTalksMoney I'm glad I took your encouragement and the "free share" and signed up with Trading 212. No problems there HOWEVER... The free share appears on my account but the price shows as part of my ISA allowance. I understand why, but given the absolute limit of £20K, accidentally going over the allowance is possible and could cause problems. Perhaps flag this issue? Assuming I have not misunderstood things.
"I made a lot of money investing into Apple, that's because I had some in-cider knowledge..." 🍎😂
Haha that’s the joke I was gonna pop on here 👍🏼
My wife favourite band comes from an 18th Century novelist. She loves a Dickens Cider.
You got yourself a T shirt! pop me an email on damientalksmoney @ gmail.com and i will get you one in the post.
Will do @@DamienTalksMoney
My mate told me to put my cash under the mattress. But I found no interest in that
Great content! as the world crisis progresses the smartest thing people do lately is building a strong investment that isn’t controlled by the government. Like digital currencies.
Building wealth involves good habits and risks like putting money into solid investments like digital currencies, having a good financial manager is what people tend to shy away from, and it keeps hunting them in the near future after many losses, be disciplined and get certified advisor pray that anyone reading this will be successful!!!
Absolutely! Building a strong investment that isn’t controlled by the government is a smart move in todays unpredictable economy. digital assets offer a unique opportunity for financial independence.
Thank so much for the advice been seeking means of being successful in the digital market,do you recommend any professional ?

The British public can’t be blamed for not investing, because as you mentioned Damien, there’s been zero financial education from the Education system. It’s not seen as for us ordinary people. Thankfully we have you and a few others on YT to do that. Thanks for your insight and hard work you do. 🙌🏻👌🏻
Thank you so much for your videos and for sharing your knowledge in such an accessible way. I've only recently begun watching you and a couple of other (British) YTs on the subject of personal finances & investing but I've learned so much. And like soooo many Brits, I was actually a bit scared when it came to moving some of my 'squirrelled away' money from what I thought were 'safe' accounts into a T212 ISA. But am I ever glad I have! Of course like you say, things will go up and down over time so no-one's getting rich overnight. But £700 invested has already grown more in a few weeks than £2,000 in a bank cash ISA has in a year! So c'mon Brits, watch Damien's vids & get with the program!
I'm rubbish at puns but I did enjoy the T-shirts 😆
Excellent video that really gave me the confidence to try investing. I did a bit of reading, and articles kept suggesting Bonds as a relatively safe investment.
I've 200 copies of Goldeneye on DVD due to arrive on Monday. So excited!
You got yourself a T shirt! pop me an email on damientalksmoney @ gmail.com and i will get you one in the post.
T-shirts were on point today 👌🏼
Thank you for detailing that long-term means at least a decade. I pulled a lot of my money out of my stocks and shares ISA in 2022/23 because it was a very volatile year. My returns were in the negative month on month, I was depositing £500 pcm. I did end up needing the money I drew down (Masters degree), but I kept a grand in there. This video has given me the confidence to increase my monthly deposits from the minimum, to at least £100. I can stomach that and the possible volatility at that amount. I'm glad I stayed in the game in 2024, and now I'm aware that ten years plus is what I need to keep in mind.
Your point in regulators is bang on!
Another well produced video Damien. Thank you.
Here is my thought of the day for you:
An economist, an accountant and a lawyer decided to gamble…. And that’s how stock markets came into existence!
Great advice as always!
Theres so many good ones but the only t shirt friendly one I can think of is:
Debit in the streets, Credit in the sheets
Honestly…been watching your recent videos all day - love your stuff, brilliant! Put that on a t-shirt…haha!
Enjoyed this video so much! The T shirts were the icing on the cake 👌
Thank you for ACTUALLY telling me how to invest. I’m 19 years old and literally need investing and finances spoon feeding until I become more comfortable
You are starting at a young age. If you start and stay consistent you are going to do amazing.
Very funny and very helpful. This is exactly what I needed. Thank you very much x
Great video, this answered a lot of questions I've always had about investing and in particular what trading platforms do. Bit of a cash crunch for me this month but I know where all my spare £ in June is going.
Awesome video thanks for sharing. Love the t-shirts 😂
Great vid Damien, I'm on t212 too and have set up a lisa for me and jisa's for my kids with HL thanks to your content. I was thinking about investing in some mining stocks because they've recently hit rock bottom, I'm so sorry 😅
Nice one Damien. I'm giving invest engine a go this year with regular deposits 🎉
I'd love a shirt. Why did the investor open a bakery? Because he wanted to make some dough!
You got yourself a T shirt! pop me an email on damientalksmoney @ gmail.com and i will get you one in the post.
@@DamienTalksMoney Thanks Damien, I've just sent you an email.
Hey Damien - I have been following you for over a year now. Just started to invest some money and created my first pie ! Thank you … Francesca 😊
Yes! Amazing well done for taking the plunge. Stay consistent and don’t panic if the ride gets bumpy
I’ve been watching your videos for sometime now, after loosing a bit of money in ISAs in 2008 I’ve stuck with cash savings until today. Thanks for the walkthrough guide, I’ve now started my investment journey!
Love the t-shirts😂, “isa joke” is my favourite 👍👋🇬🇧
Nice one Damien, been watching every video of yours for a while on top on your podcast. You have helped me motivate a few of my mates to get on the investing train too. I have a pie on trading 212 30% VUAG AND 70% VWRP. ( I know im over exposing myself 🤣) BUT! Your videos keep me motivated to keep it up. Keep up the hard work
What a guy, thanks for your advice 👍
I have a 5 figure portfolio on T212, but I still clicked on Damien's how to start investing video. Appreciate the time and money effort that went in to those t-shirts!
In other news did you hear about that marijuana stock? Buy high, sell higher!
marijuana stock you say, think I need to know more for research.
I can relate... My dad is just the same and the more he ages the more stubborn he gets. I really wish he could invest, even when he sees how good it's been for me, he still doesn't budge!
I have a 5 figure portfolio too... £00001 👀😂
You got yourself a T shirt! pop me an email on damientalksmoney @ gmail.com and i will get you one in the post.
I wish they taught investing at school level. There is so much advantage to doing this!
My biggest regret is that I started so late.
They don’t teach in schools because if people started to learn the power of investing early. They could probably retire in their 50s. That would be bad for employers. The system is designed to keep society working into old age.
Nice video mate! New subscribers here!
Came for the t shirts stayed for the excellent video. Totally agree. We need financial literacy in high schools.
just wanted to say i have recently come across this channel after looking into saving and investing my self, while i have done for a few years i have only started taking it more seriously recently. This channel is by far my favourite (ignoring the uk bias i have) but also because damien makes stuff actually make sense. i feel like sometimes when doing my own research i'm just ramming my head into a brick wall trying to learn all these new terms etc. But this channel does a good job of answering questions while clearing up any confusing terminology. I also agree the education around finance in this country is terrible.
Thank you Damien, I've been meaning to do this for some time now, and finally just started thanks to your video!
Amazing! Well done for getting started. Stay consistent through thick and thin and it will transform your life
Great video, in fact I actually sent it to my wife to watch, she usually thinks any sort of investment is far too risky!
Time in the market beats timing the market. Might be the most valuable lesson I’ve learned so far. It doesn’t need to be very complicated but you do need to be consistent.
Awesome! 🔥
I’ve just started investing at the grand old age of 37, coming from a working class family, they were very much in favour of ‘squirrelling’ money away for a rainy day so I’ve gone on my own journey to educate myself about investing, thanks for providing such great information. Although, don’t come for Keanu, national treasure right there! 🤣
Brilliant and straight to the point. No need for investing to be complicated! Great video, Damien 👍
Thank you for the video. Investing always seems scary but this makes a lot of sense
I appreciate your review I’m available for inquiries and counseling on my helpline.
Loving the T-Shirts, nice touch!
Awesome video Damien, I have just started investing because of watching your videos @42 wish I had started a lot earlier, but as you said in your earlier video now probably is the time I have a little more spare money. Loved this vid too made me LOL more than once, cheers for all the interesting and informative info you put out there.
Nice video, nicer t shirts.
I think I'm the worst of all sinners, i had cash sitting in my Trading 212 ISA no invested in anything at all. This was a nice prompt to make it do something, thanks !
This was an amazingly helpful video. Thank you Damien for your efforts. I'm the typical guy you're describing...I have the money in savings but dont know what to do with it.
it's almost like they don't want to educate us from the get go, big up for your content Damien!
Thanks to you and a guy at work i have started investing a few weeks ago so far so good thank you!
Amazing! Keep at it even when it is a bumpy ride
I lost over $80k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Charlotte Miller.
The very first time we tried, we invested $1000 and after a week, we received $7500. That really helped us a lot to pay up our bills.
She is my family's personal broker and also a personal broker in many families I'm United States, she's a licensed broker and a FINRA AGENT in United states
I just withdrew my profits a week ago, To be honest it was an amazing feeling when the profits hits my wallet I wish I could reinvest but, too much bills
I'm new at this, please how can I reach her?
Really you people know her? I was even thinking that I'm the only one she has helped walk through the fears and falls of trading
Hi Chris, great video as usual. I am looking to buy an ethernet one so i can make my home assistant resilient with a 2 node proxmox, a usb device makes failover a bit too manual. My Pi based setup recently failed as the ssd stopped working, coukdnt even turn a light on for a few days, wife not very impressed 😂 Luckily Amazon deliver fast and i proved you can restore an arm based backup to an x86 n95 proxmox HA container 👍
My assistant Nic (Oh yeah you met her!) came to work the other day and said "Have you seen Damo's T-Shirt vid?" You've become a water cooler moment
🤣🤣 well at least I am known for something
Hmmm, maybe I should invest?
Everyone else: isa gettin outta here
"Apple is feeling confident, it knows it is the apple of everyone’s eye" Loving the T-Shirts, very funny
Great video, keep it coming 👍
A lot of this still goes back to financial education needed for everyone/should be taught in school from 1st year/7th grade (ish?) onwards. Knowing how pensions work, not being scared of investing etc. are more important than squaring up with a hippopotamus on the other side of the quadrangle...
Can you recommend any ‘ethical/sustainable’ global index funds ?
Great video Damo, I think anyone watching this should listen to your podcast with Tom Morgan as I think it will dovetail nicely with this video. Particularly where you both spoke about how most people just need a global index fund and then might need a financial planner in the future when they near retirement. The bit in the podcast about his client and the church piano was lovely. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much mate! I Love that you enjoyed the podcast and that story about the piano is epic. Who knew they cost so much!
The put "THAT" on a t-shirt was such a well delivered joke 🤣
I used to have interest in woman’s knicker stocks … but they kept going up and down too much.
Nice Vid, love the t-shirts!
I just slap spare cash into my stocks and shares ISA... Vanguard US500 fund and HSBC All world fund split 50/50 10% average return
Hi Damien, I always struggle to get my head around why should I invest into anything else other than my pension. Particularly when paying 40% tax and having the ability to use salary sacrifice and select a fund via my provider. Keen to know your thoughts around this if possible?
Thanks for the content once again👍
Nice gains! You been exercising on your stock options?
Sending this to my sister!! Thank you sir!
Exactly the reaction I wanted! Your sister should thank you. Legend of a brother
I even called her to push it.. 😅 she said she hasn’t got anything to invest I said it’s the knowledge you should have for when you do..! 😂😊
If you would like a t shirt send me an email on damientalksmoney @ gmail.com you can send it to your sister haha
@@DamienTalksMoney I sent you an email! I so excited!

Hi Damien, glad to see your channel is doing well!
Could you do a video on transferring isas, investments, pensions etc?
"I'm a fan of the newer pound coins, which is odd given I hate all change."
(Great vid, better T-Shirts!)
Am i the only one that sees how his shirt changes 😂
Great vid. Life changing. 👍🏻
How do we invest ethically? The Baillie Gifford at Hay Festival situation highlights a growing focus on ethical investing. How can we ensure we’re investing in the ‘right’ things?
Hey Damien , very good video . I can do better editing in your videos which can help you to get more engagement in your videos . Pls lmk what do you think ?
I put £1 in with your code and got around £12 in Nike :)
Nice!! That’s a great return
I put £1 in with your code and got £23 in H&M. Great intro to the platform. Thanks Damien ❤

If yourea Brit but living abroad for a while can you still open an account? What kind of residency requirements are there?
Just want to say, you do not need £200k to speak to a Financial Adviser - I think this is a bit of a generalisation from some of the massive corporate advice firms like Vanguard.
If you feel that you will benefit from financial advice regarding investments, insurance, pensions, Inheritance Tax liabilities, etc. then I absolutely encourage you to speak to a regulated independant advice firm - It could be the difference between a hard graft for life and a managable retirement! It is always worth checking for reviews beforehand though.

Do you have video on how to save ?
I started investing last year aged 51. I listened to my dad for years. "Investing is like putting all your money on a horse. Don't do it."
Now I realise he had no clue about index funds and the like.
I've since tried to convince him to invest but he refuses, saying, "I like my money where I can see it - in the bank."
Great video again! I’d love a t-shirt but I probably won’t get one. It’s accrual world!
Straight Outta Compound.
Love the T-shirt changes
Please explain leverage share 3x Nvidia, also explain all charges of withdrawal.
Damien - This is brilliant. I've been trying to help someone get into investing. This is perfect. I've mentioned you to them before, but this series is perfect for them.
This is such a well scripted video too.

Please can you guide me into this Tesla stock investment?
Please can you drop her details here, I'll like to reach out to her for a start_up.
Please I'd love to connect her for a start up, how?
Monday
I have started to invest, only a small amount, I think I put £20 in. I purchased some IBM which is up 4% from when I brought the stock. I also get dividend payments as well. Which I think is a good idea for someone.

Buy the dip, load up your SIPP!
Hey Damien, I am looking to buy my first home using the governments '30% off first time houses scheme if you buy locally'. A couple questions: is this a good scheme? What do you think the interest rate would be by January 2025? I know the second question is very difficult to predict but any insight would be super appreciated!
All the best and love your videos!
I'm confused about the "free share worth up to £100", how do I claim/use it? It says I already claimed it when I typed in your code so guess I got it on sign up but I only have the option to purchase using my deposited money.
cant see the tshirt purchase link?
Ive always been way too anxious to start with anything like this. But starting small with this ISA doesnt seem so scary. And ive just put £1 and bought a share for the hell of it to see how stuff works. Baby steps.
Quick edit to this: still no £100 free share. I had a look at the promo campaigns and I don't get the £100 when using your code. YOU do for inviting us to use the app from what I can see. I hope I'm wrong, I really do
firstly its not a guaranteed 100 pound share. it clearly says 1-100 pound share, and it can take up to three days/
I spread 5k across ETFS and 3k for day trading which I have seen immense growth from my decision cause one gives me passive income while the other is for long-term 🙃🙃
How can I invest in whatever company makes your t-shirts?
Why invest in ETFs rather than tracker funds (such as L&G US index)?
hi so im under 40 and want save for retirement would stocks and shares lifetime isa be my best option as i would not pay tax when taking out at retirement but get 25% of the government and its achievable for most people to max out or am i missing a trick
The issue with dividends is that they trigger capital gains … I would rather cumulative which is an automated way of doing what you are doing manually - without the fun but gives bsck your time and save you tax 🙃
Wrong on a few counts. Dividends don’t trigger capital gains tax. They trigger dividend tax which for basic rate payers is anything over £500 is taxed at just under 9%. Capital gains tax is paid on the profits from selling investments and both of these taxes are completely avoided inside an ISA.
Even outside an ISA the type of ETF you are talking about (ACC) you still have to pay the same taxes on your investments, it’s just harder to calculate.

Been trying to save as much as i can in my 212isa for over a year now, not much in it but as im on Universal Credit as an income i cant save all that much. Any saving's over £6000 gets you a reduction and over i think £15k your claim is closed. This could have something to do with why people dont save or invest also.
When I opened a Trading 2-1-2 account, I was asked to complete a Form W-8BEN E. Is this part of the process?
Mmm not sure the British Steel pensioners would agree with the statement the regulator does a good job of protecting people and the innumerable other scandals etc.
If you were investing £10,000 in ETF's and Index funds, which would you choose? This goes out to everyone. And do they all payout dividends every 3 months? Is that standard across the board??

What do you do if you are a "traditional saver" and you already put some money into a cash ISA (in the current tax year)?
You can still open a stocks and shares ISA. The important thing is that you can add £20k maximum in a tax year across these. for example you could put 15k into a stocks and shares ISA and 5k into cash ISA. As long as you don’t add more than 20k in a tax year then you are fine.
