Great video - thank you :) I opened a 212 investment account. Created own pie £500 with fractional shares (US most popular shares) - all good. Later topped it up with a further £500. They now show separately in the same investment account as 'Portfolio' (in blue) and 'Free Funds' (in green). Do you know how I move the 'Free funds' into the Portfolio please? TIA

Hai Jubair, I have a doubt regarding the self assessment, If i invest in the portfolio in Trading 212. Do I have to do the self assessment at the end of the financial year.
well your advice works for me Jubair keep up the good work have a great weekend
Not advice 😅, but thanks Dean! You too
I just need to get on with it and open a ISA.

your name sounds like you are a Muslim, if so, you should be ashamed of dealing in and promoting compound interest...
Silly question but aren’t savings and investments different things? I understand where compound interest applies to savings but I don’t see it applies to investments I.e. stocks and shares. Or am I missing something?
Technically stocks don't receive compound interest, but they can benefit from compounding value. So essentially the return on the principal amount can be considered the interest. If a stock grows by 5% each year and it's not withdrawn, then it will behave similarly to a bank account that pays the same amount (minus fees). I hope this helps
@@Dr.JubairsFinance thanks for answering my question. I thought I was missing something, but you have confirmed my understanding of the term, and and that, in my view, CI doesn’t really apply to shares.
I'm currently almost at 1 year mark, 39 more to go.
You can do it!
Your T212 ISA appears to be all in cash and committed to a trade. Out of interest (pun intended), what is that? You're not trying to time the market are you ;)
It's actually all invested now. Nice pun. I am human at the end of the day, I get excited with new market highs, I try my best to stay on course. One of the reasons why I made this channel!
Misleading thumbnail.
Start with £10k, deposit £500 per month for 30-40 years, 1 million is definitely not out of the question. This was the point of the video. I'm sorry that you were mislead by it.
clickbait thumbnail
You don't think with regular contributions and a good time span, you can't make an initial investment of £10k into £1m?
They are the only SIPP provider that lets you trade in individual stocks at low price. I have a SIPP from old pensions in Freetrade, ISA in T212 and another SIPP with Vanguard to move money above £85k from Freetrade
Definitely a benefit, I really liked FreeTrade actually. Also I think Trading 212 are late to the SIPP game
Active management. Very high fees. Avoid.
He’s doing good
I can’t for the life of me figure out how you just take profits. When I go to sell, it just sells my shares not my profit? Can someone explain to me what I’m missing
There's no such thing as "profits". When you buy a share and it increases in value, you can sell that share for higher. You can't scrape away an imaginary number from the shares you have.
Hi Dr. Just a quick question: if you want to take out your profit example from Tesla, do you sell the whole stock and rebuy minus the profit amount? Cause T212 doesn’t have a separate pot for profit. Any suggestions? Ty
I don't recommend trying to do this. First of all, your question implies that you're not sure about it, which makes me nervous. Let's say you brought 100 shares for £100 and the current price increased to £150, if you sell £50 worth, then you will have £100 left but fewer shares. There no guarantee that the share price won't decrease again, so it's pretty risky to do this. You can't always guarantee "profits", the stock market is pretty volatile.
@@Dr.JubairsFinance ok thanks. Just in one of your previous videos you said you prefer to take profit not to hold for long term and i wonder how you do it. And those stocks won’t go up all the time i think, at some point they will go down or stop. Or maybe the market will crash one day😕
@@acmramon When I said take profit, what I meant was: to sell all my shares and realise a profit. I think there is confusion on social media with all of these "trading gurus". Sorry to add to the confusion! Maybe I shouldn't have used this term.
@@Dr.JubairsFinance ok, thank you. Im not selling anything. Only worry for me is if the market will crash one day😒 like a ,,guru,,😅said on yt because of the AI
@@acmramon Every market that is high now, has always crashed before.

Doesn’t it get complicated having ISA’s on different platforms? How would they know? Would I need to do the self assessment and declare it?
ISAs are exempt from Tax, so no need to include in self assessments
@@Dr.JubairsFinance but if I have 3 platforms and 20k in each of them then I’ll be taxed and have to declare it.
That's not true, all ISAs are tax free, are you talking about a general investment account?
@@Dr.JubairsFinance what I mean is altogether I will have 60k as my ISA’s are spread on 3 different platforms. As I have a 20k tax free allowance per tax year, then isn’t my 40k extra taxable?
Its a 20k tax free deposit, not the maximum you can have! Your ISA can grow to an unlimited amount. I hope that helps.
Do Robinhood app work in Nigeria
Orange how can I invest to make passive income
this might be a stupid question but i'm a complete beginner and was wondering... if the return is only in pennies what's the point of continuously investing? will the money we put in really grow to be worth it (give back more and more) or is it better to just stick to an ISA? i want to save up for a wedding and have a >5 year time
First of all, it's pretty risky to only plan to invest for 5 years, within that time, the stock market could be down and require more time to get back to normal. Also, the return on the stock market is a percentage of what you initially have, so for me it's not pennies, it's tens of thousands, even per year. So as long as you are planning to be consistent, it's really really worth it, in my opinion. When you begin, it's pretty tough, but you will realise how powerful it really is.
@@Dr.JubairsFinancethank you for replying, i want to stick to it long term. Can i ask..when it says 0.20p return or something like that that doesn't mean 20p return? it equates to more? or does it only equate to more when the companies do better and their stock value grows? + i think i need to research and learn the compounding effect maybe to clear my confusion?

Hi bro how we can put our money for premium bonds? How we can take our money if we need and how long does it take?

@@Dr.JubairsFinance thank u very much
1:30 The S&P 500 is not a UK based ETF, it is a USA based ETF 😂. This is concerning cause if you don't even know that, do you even have a clue what the underlying assest in the S&P 500 are?
You clearly didn't listen to the entire sentence, I said UK based ETFs denominated in pounds, and the video is about S&P 500 funds. I stated over 3 times what the S&P 500 invests in.
Big help - thank you!
You're very welcome!
I've now won £400 on £11k saved since September 2023. I'm pleased with my results and consider myself lucky.
That's pretty lucky!
i discovered the hard way what leverage 3x long is
Oh yeah, leverage, tempting, but I won't touch
Are you buying VUSA as well? Recently I made my first investment by buying 30 shares but I think I'm regretting it. Since I'm going in the long run (at least 15 years) maybe it would have been better to go with the accumulative version. At first I liked the idea of receiving directly the dividends in my portfolio. In my country (Greece) ucits aren't taxable and I think we have a minimal fee of 5% regarding the dividends which I don't mind, it's just the total amount in the long run won't reflect my real gains If don't manually reinvest them back to the etf. Is there a way to switch to VUAA on Trading 212 without having to sell the stocks and rebuy?
Unfortunately you can't just switch over, but if you're investing for the long term, I can almost assure you that you will not worry about 30 shares, as you'll have so many more of the one you want in the future.
I don’t know what you mean when you say interest on shares. As money on shares, there is no interest on your money unless you lend your shares out. Am i missing something
I mean it has appreciation on shares, interest is therefore the growth on the value of the shares you hold, hope that makes sense?
@@Dr.JubairsFinance ok thanks for clarifying. I only started buying last month so I thought I missed something. You actually said compound interest. Which if it’s just appreciation then there is no compounding(as far as I can see). Unless you factor in dividends which I guess if you choose acc then it’s sort of compounding. Cool anyway I just subscribed to your channel
I've been trying to build my stocks isa and was wondering if I should invest in this for that reason.
You should invest only if you feel like it's for you. I'm just here to give some information! Good luck
I have a portfolio of £547K, currently just hold 3 stocks, MSFT, ASML and V. It's more important to own the right companies, avoid the losers as they hurt your returns.
Nice one!
hello Jubair somehow i missed this post youtube changed my settings well so following your guide im £ 300 up this year june july 2 wins on a £800 purchased in march so once again thanks for your fantastic advice im now looking forward august already have passed on your channel many thanks have a great week
That's fantastic luck Dean!
Another great video, that was very helpful and informative. Thank you. The likes of VWRL seems very high at the moment, would it be best to wait for a dip before buying?
If you follow my TikTok, I show how it's so foolish to try and time the market. Who's to say that the VWRL will ever drop enough for you to get back into it, by then you could have missed out on a lot of gain.
good to see videos aimed at all levels of investors,
Thank you! I started this channel aiming at beginners and sometimes I get too ahead of myself haha.
Great video. Best of luck for the future.
Thank you Muntaser
My Mum had around 3000 pounds in premium bonds, and won another 100 pounds this month, my Dad has around 2000 pounds and won nothing. When I was born one of the neighbours bought me a 5 pound premium bonds (when you could buy just a £1 bond, back in the 80s, not won anything on this , but the £5 premium bond is stopping there , just in case I get a win.
Maybe you'll get a win very soon! It only takes one big win to make the wait worthwhile
Love your videos and channel and thank you for the time and effort you put into these. I have just maxxed out my stocks ISA with Trading 212 and all is currently as free funds until i decide on the index fund to trade. I noticed that i have to tick a box (opt in) for my cash to accrue the 5.2% interest, does this mean whilst its unticked my cash is generating nothing? Also regarding the index fund, if i have the ISA maxxed is there anything stopping me investing 100% of my free funds into the index fund and leaving 0 free funds, ie are there penalties for dipping below the £20k as the prices drop etc meaning negative balance? Thank you again
Hi Darren, thank you for your kind words. You need to opt into the 5.2% rate on uninvested cash in order to get the higher rate as you should be aware that this rate is based on your cash being put into qualifying money market funds (QMMFs), there is a slight risk in these, although pretty safe overall. There is nothing stopping you from using your ISA, exactly how you want to, you can drop below 20k in cash at anytime and be fully invested.
@@Dr.JubairsFinance thank you for your prompt response and all that you continue to teach us, it's very much appreciated
New to learning on 212. I have the cash isa maxed out is it best to take the interest out monthly and invest in to something else?
It's completely up to you! I wouldn't personally take anything out, just keep reinvesting. But obviously this isn't financial advice.
I thought you might say that. I just though the interest I make monthly in that account would Be better invested in S&P 500 or something similar.
stock and shares gave me a much better return.
Yes of course, I only use this as an emergency fund!
THIS IS FINANCIAL ADVICE!
Absolutely not
I had £5k sat for a while without winning and was considering a fixed term ISA instead. Then, out of nowhere, started winning frequently and have decided to keep it there, with a small scheduled payment each month. Today I had 3 prizes! Did you have any luck today?
Amazing! I won £100, so was pretty happy about that
Did you just start investing as 41k invested and a negative yield of £500 is not assuring when you are recomending stocks, I have been investing for 2 years in etfs, index and some bluechip stocks and I'm 41% up so what's the deal, I tend not to listen to someone who has a negative balance when a low volatility etf should conservatively give you 10% anual yield
I'm definitely not forcing anyone to listen to me, it's your life at the end of the day. Not recommending any stocks for anyone. And no, I did not start with 41k, every profit has been reinvested. There will always be fluctuations in the market in the short term.
could you do a similar video but with halal ISAs? the interest eared is just haraam money and we would need to donate it to charity.
It’s about time they raised the amount you can put into premium bonds.
Only if they also increase the amount of prizes, otherwise everyone is worse off
@@Dr.JubairsFinance The number of prizes are reflected in the number of bonds held.
Awesome Vid Juibair! I’ve been rather unlucky so far but hopefully that will changes
Thanks Cam! It only takes one big win to have your luck change
