- THE SADDEST THING EVER!
these are two clips from the move... its when dumbledore dies, and i cut out th scene with harry and snape and went straight to the farewell.
i do not own the clips. They belong to Warner Bros
The darkest book in the series. What fascinates me about Harry Potter is how it progresses from childlike adventures to very real, adult intrigue.
If you would know Hunter x Hunter...
the series grew with the age of readers most of us were around 10 or younger when the first book came out. Ginny is also the only person who got through to Harry during this scene
exactly its begins as a childs story and as it progress it becomes real , life like , scary and dark like the dark times of history(if you think the whole series is about stoping a hitler-like magician and his followers)
True, they realise they not children no more and that there are real dangers in the world that wants to destroy them and that its time to step up and do whats right of they want to protect those they love and care about
Very well written and shown.
It took me ages to realise that Dumbledore, in saying "Severus...please...", wasn't even faking a plea to Snape to trick the Death Eaters; that he was genuinely pleading with Snape, not to spare his life, but to follow his wishes and kill him at his chosen moment. Amazing plotting!
BenBanjo87 oh god I hadn’t realized that till now it actually makes so much sense considering Snape didn’t want to follow this plan
Same as you
i knew it from the very first moment and then the tone when severus pronounces the killing curse ..it can brin out tears
It was cause of the potion that he took to get the fake horcrux
@@nicoleng6166 no, it was because of the curse on Marvolo Haunt's ring. It would have killed him in a little while, but he didn't want to die like that
When McGonagall aims her wands into the air: “Happiness can be found in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light”.

"Severus Please"... "Avada Kedavra"... The timing... Perfect, planned, punctual.
yeah I love the ambiguity of it, made the twist later so much more imapctful
Even snape had a Bit of sadness in his voice
because he want snape to be the one that done it
IKR!!! It seemed like he was asking Snape to save him, but he was asking him to kill him...! But it seemed so sad
221BBakerWaffles Lawler he wasn’t asking him to save him at all for in this moment Dumbledore was completely selfless... He was saying please kill him because as he said “it is the only way”
As it turns out, this wasn't the ultimate act of betrayal, but the ultimate act of loyalty/. RIP Severus Snape and RIP Albus Dumbledore.
Well all you need is this deathly hallows part 2 and the skill or inference to figure it out
Robert Kincaid It’s literally spelled out in the books and movies... where do you see people who don’t understand any of it?
I was fine until they started raising their wands. There’s something about that silent act of defiance, and in this case, respect, in the face of such a devastating event that just hurts. Especially Professor McGonagall. She’s trying SO HARD to keep it together and it shows.
She just lost her best friend and closest confidant. She had already lost so much and now she loses him. makes me so sad
The hunger games when they so the thing with their fingers
@@_junghoseok4588 tbh that's what I did I did the three finger salute
Wish Harry did the same thing, personally.
Yeah....I listened to the Half Blood Prince book on Audible a few nights ago and McGonagall’s reaction had me in another amount of tears
You can see the sadness in Draco's and Severus's eyes when Albus dies
jxshouto Aye, because Malfoy was never a truly evil person, and Snape respected Dumbledore too much.

He was amazing
1:22. I just realized that dumbledore wasn’t pleading for his life, he was begging for Severus to go through with their plans and kill him
You should read the book. It would've revealed the entire truth about Snape and how he's been on the good side the whole time.
Daniel Watson it’s revealed in the movies too
To save Draco from having to go down this dark path also...
@@danieldoo1821 but reading the books also tells you that Snape is NOT a good person. He didn't give two shits what happened to James or their infant son Harry. He only said to protect them when Dumbledore called him out on it. He also tortured Harry for six years in school because he looked like James. He caused lasting psychological damage to Neville for no reason. He was at heart a cruel, spiteful, childish asshole. People should not be fawning over him
@@secretblue0290
Good points there,
however I would like to state that Severus Snape does have a positive side.
Let's compare Snape to Merope Gaunt, Voldemort's biological mother.
Merope Gaunt tricked Tom Riddle Senior into drinking the love potion - The love potion is the reason why Tom Riddle Junior, whom we all know as Voldemort, cannot love, have friends, and he ended up being one of the most dangerous and violent wizards ever.
Merope Gaunt didn't care about the consequences of her actions, all shed cared was that " that handsome Riddle fellow " must love her, even if she has to force magic down his throat.
Meanwhile Snape never forced Lily to love him. Snape, like Merope Gaunt, could've used love potion ( Amortentia I believe it's called ) too, be he never did, he decided to only loathe James Potter. That's a rather good thing.
So heartbreaking when Harry feels Dumbledores chest to see if his heart is still beating..... Almost like just the idea of him dead was impossible
thats how i felt, like Dumbledore would soon get up and help harry with the horcruxes
James and Lily died
Dumbledore died
Sirius died
Snape died
Cedric died
Mad eye died
Hedwig died
Dobby died
And he lived.
Edit: Remus and Tonks and Fred died too, sorry to everyone in the comments I left these out, didn't think anyone would see this.
Also Fred, Tonks, Remus and many more. Ron puts it the best in the deathly hollows part one, they didn't die for Harry they died fighting for what was right
My GOD man don't do this to me ;-;
I don't believe it.So many deaths in such a great movie and books series.Harry Potter is like the one fictional character who was pulled through the worst torture.Probably even bigger than Spider-Man whose friend Harry Osborn died in Spider-Man 3 and Rocky Balboa who witnessed the deaths of his friends Mickey Goldmill and Apollo Creed.
Don't forget about Tonks and Lupin
Almost like it's Game of Thrones
“Do not pity the dead, Harry, pity the living, and above all those who live without love.” - Albus Dumbledore

Draco looked like he was going to cry
Hayley Tran-Ho
He was. Dumbledore was way more of a father to him than Lucius ever was.
I think he was crying because of guilt not because he genuinely cared for Dumbledore. He has little respect for him throughout the books- calling him an old fool, playing with his spoon during the feast etc...
Yep. Voldemort only gave him the job of killing Dumbledore to punish Lucius for failing to steal the prophecy about Harry and Voldemort from the Ministry of Magic. He wanted to slowly torture Lucius and Narcissa with the fear that Draco would fail and planned to kill all 3 of them if he did.
He was. He didnt want to kill Dumbledore
I poop too much
It's funny to think that the words Dumbledore ushers before he dies "Severus Please" could have been so misinterpreted by so many for so long. For years, I believed that he was saying "Please Severus" as in pleading for him not to kill him. It isn't until the final book/ film that you realise that Dumbledore was pleading the opposite. Very moving and fantastic acting all round.
Actually it had a double meaning: “please” as to sound convincing to the death eaters, but actually giving strength to snape to do what he had
@@GeorgeTwine Completely my idea!
Lira
iSos Gaming Why did snape have to kill him? Explain.
The visitor101 it’s hard to explain, but it comes down to the suspicions Voldemort held against Snape considering he knew he was pally with Dumbledore. If Snape killed Dumbledore, Voldemort would have no reason to think Snape was a double agent since if that were the case, he’d be killing his own friend. Of course, we, the audience, know that there’s a lot more to it than that, and that his death was planned all along
“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times. If only one remembers to turn on the light.” - Albus Dumbledore
I have read the alternative of this quote in the Russian book, so I am guessing did they copied or not

Don't kill me...but I pity Draco Malfoy here.
Draco is 16. What are most 16 year olds doing? Having fun, hanging out with friends, maybe starting a romance. Draco, may be the son of a bigoted pureblood family of Death Eaters, but is forced to choose between killing his Headmaster, who has taught him all he knows and is more of a father figure than Lucius was, for sure, or being killed by the Dark Lord himself. He's just a boy! A child! At that age, the Marauders were hanging Snape upside down by his ankle! No 16 year old should have to make choices like that. He's not weak by crying, he's scared stiff!
You said that really good 🙏

Phenomenal directing and acting. Notice that it took the combined power of the whole school, pupils and teachers a like, to get rid of the death mark. As well as this being a very sad scene, it emphasises the power of Voldemort.
There's several perspectives. It's quite an ambiguous scene. This is why Harry Potter is so good. From my perspective, it took the combined power of the whole school to get rid of the death mark, which in a way shows that it takes the combined power of the whole school to defeat him, like you said.
The Harry Potter books emphasizes how important and powerful love is. Unlike most books, it focuses not just romantic love but also the ones found in friendships and families. Voldemort's greatest weakness is his inability to love and understand it.

Today we Potterheads all raise our wands for Sir. Michael Gambon. One of the greatest actors to ever grace these beloved films, it was Sir. Michael Gambon who perfectly succeeded the Richard Harris mantle and kept breathing the same magic, enchantment, mystical splendor and wisdom we all know and love into Professor Albus Dumbledore, with a more mature and quirky twist, who played a wonderful part of our childhoods; we cherished and adored him. Millions of us grew up seeing you on the screen, and millions of us were entranced by your performance: you brought us majesty, wisdom, love, and *light* in the face of a tough world - you brought us comfort and joy in a vast and fascinating Wizarding World. You, Sir. Gambon, are OUR Albus Dumbledore. Sir, we salute you, and are incredibly grateful toward you, and in your remembrance, we raise our wands for you. May God bless you, and may he grant you rest in everlasting peace.
*"Happiness can be found in even the darkest of times, if only one would remember to turn on the light."*
"Now, Draco, quickly!" said the brutal-faced man angrily.
But Malfoy's hand was shaking so badly that he could barley aim.
"I'll do it;" snarled Fenrir, moving toward Dumbledore with his hands outstretched, his teeth bared.
"I said no!" shouted the brutal-face man; there was a flash of light and the werewolf was blasted out of the way; he hit the ramparts and staggered, looking furious. Harry's heart was hammering so hard it seemed impossible that nobody could hear him standing there, imprisoned by Dumbledore's spell --- if he could only move, he could aim a course from under the Cloak ---
"Draco, do it or stand aside so one of us ---" screeched the woman, but at that precise moment, the door to the ramparts burst open once more and there stood Snape, his wand clutched in his hand as his black eyes swept the scene, from Dumbledore slumped against the wall, to the four Death Eaters, including the enraged werewolf, and Malfoy.
"We've got a problem, Snape," said the lumpy Amycus, whose eyes and wand were fixed alike upon Dumbledore, "the boy doesn't seem able ---"
But somebody else had spoken Snape's name, quite softly.
"Severus . . ."
The sound frightened Harry beyond anything he had experienced all evening. For the first time, Dumbledore was pleading.
Snape said nothing, but walked forward and pushed Malfoy roughly out of the way. The three Death Eaters fell back without a word. Even the werewolf seemed cowed.
Snape gazed for a moment at Dumbledore, and there was revulsion and hatred etched in the harsh lines of his face.
"Severus . . . please . . ."
Snape raised his wand and pointed it directly at Dumbledore.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A jet of green light shot from the end of Snape's wand and hit Dumbledore squarely in the chest.Harry's scream of horror never left him; silent and unmoving, he was forced to watch as Dumbledore was blasted into the air. For a split second, he seemed to hang suspended beneath the shining skull, and then he fell slowly backward, like a great rag doll, over the battlements and out of sight.

@@groot8950 Ginny was only interested in him in the first few books because he was famous. Then she started dating other people and got over harry. It was harry who started to have a crush on ginny, he liked her whilst Ginny was dating dean. Also ginny was the only one to defend harry when hermonie was saying she was disappointed. Ginny was the one who tried to help harry talk to sirius. Ginny didn't like him just because he was famous, in fact she didn't like him for that at all.
@@lucygarland6243 But Ginny defending Harry when Hermione was disappointed is called blind trust. Hermione has always told Harry what he needs to hear, not what he wants to hear. Hermione and Ron called Harry on his BS while Ginny blindly told Harry that he was right. That's not good wife material at all.
Did Ginny really grow out of her fangirl phase? I don't think so. Have a look at this quote from Half-Blood Prince: "'“Well . . . I can’t say I’m surprised. I knew this would happen in the end. I knew you wouldn’t be happy unless you were hunting Voldemort. Maybe that’s why I like you so much.'”
Ginny seriously misunderstands Harry's motivations. She makes it sound as if Harry hunts Voldemort because it makes him happy. But even in the movies, which hold less detail, it's pretty clear that Harry has always been the reluctant hero. If he had it his way, he would be living a quiet life with no fame, but he will do the right thing, because Harry is not selfish. That's very different from the person Ginny thinks she's dating. And the last sentence is the most important ("Maybe that's why I like you so much.") This quote makes it clear that Ginny is just dating Harry because he's a hero and he's famous. That same fame that Harry has hated since the very beginning.

Once a year, I come back to this clip to check that I still have a heart.
When I saw this in the cinema, you could hear people around you crying. It was Hogwarts students/teachers coming together and raising their wands that got me sobbing even more, tremendous moment.
True
If you think about it, how the dark mark fades away with the light that everyone's wands produced together, is a bit like what Dumbledore said at Cedric's funeral about Lord Voldemort. "We're as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.". When he was talking about how, in the light of Lord Voldemort's return, they should all stick together and "Differences in habit or language are nothing at all our aims are identical and our hearts are open.". So it's a bit like they're putting Dumbledore's words into action.

It was literally right after he buried Aragog. To bury the two best friends he has ever had in a space of two days( it could even been hours) must have really taken a lot out of him. Also in the book at his funeral Hagrid's eyes were so puffy it was a wonder if he could see where he was going.

@@Psalm_23 Really, I thought he was... Well, I'm pretty sure he liked Grindelwald more than a friend when they were younger, so that means he's at least bisexual.
@@salutiesse bruh it's not what you think it's what you know. Was there any hint he was gay or either they both were in the movies or books? I didn't think so. Stop trying to make everything weird
@@Psalm_23 I am not implying it from what I have read n the books; I know there is no evidence to be found there. But, with the inception of 'Fantastic Beasts COG' , with descriptions of Gellert seeming to affect Albus and more importantly J.K. Rowling's own admittance of the fact, I think this can at least be considered valid.
I still cry even though I know Dumbledore wanted Snape to kill him. I can't help but still feel like he betrayed him, even though it was the plan.
You even notice as snape is saying the spell, his voice cracks a bit when he says cadabra. You can tell he doesn't want to do it, but feels he has to as Dumbledore told him to.
+John Macs kedavra**
*yeah kedavara
it actually shows how loyal he was to dumbledore, because he agreed to do it knowing full well his soul would be broken, all for Lily. damn I'm crying again.😭
***** actually his soul would still be ripped, dumbldore asked him to do it cuz his soul wasn't whole in the first place. Otherwise he would have just let Draco do it
I love how "Severus please" has a whole new meaning in light of Deathly Hallows. The brilliance with which Rowling ties together the strings of the storyline and keeps subtly foreshadowing never ceases to amaze me.
This can possibly be the most emotional scene I have ever seen along with the "always" scene.

RIP Alan Rickman.
/*
I wonder if Rowling herself cried when she killed Dumbledore.
She herself said in an interview with Daniel Radcliffe that she was in pieces when she killed off Dumbledore. But also she was the same killing off so many of the other characters.
DUMBLEDORE NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Snape should just shit on himself then eat it then fuck it up and feck his crappy shitty life oh shit it you fuckin crap face
That felt good
Sirius will always be the worst

Being here right after Michael Gambon’s was announced hits different. Raising my imaginary wand🕊️ rest in peace
This was, in my opinion, the 2nd saddest scene in the whole Harry Potter series behind Sirus's. That one hit me hard.
***** Exactly man :(
Rest in Peace, Yoda.
This was a lot more powerful in my opinion. It's an exceptionally good scene. It's sad but at the same time, displays how powerful Voldemort is.
Up True.
ikr 😭 i cried so much in hp 5. especially the death of sirius black. it just hit me so much. 😔
Really Loved Alan Rickman, he was one of the best actors ever, can't believe he passed away.

This hits differently after Sir Michael Gambon’s death…Rest in Peace to both Richard Harris and Michael Gambon, thank you for bringing such an amazing character to life.
Dumbledore’s last word was please.

The day the Order lost their leader, the single greatest loss they could have suffered in the Second Wizarding War and the day Harry Potter officially became a man and assumed his role as the rallying point for the forces of good
Harry became a man at 11. He was forced to grow up too fast. He's only 17 here but still carrying the weight of a 70 year old on his young shoulders. He's looked death in the eye every year, and managed to survive, but his childhood was lost forever.
Harry has been a grown up/man since 3 months from living with the Dursleys to facing death all the time,Harry never got a childhood.
Chana Lerner Dumbledore is 116 when he dies bro -_-
+facundo dondan Dumbledore died at age 115.
***** The Harry Potter wiki says 116, but it might be wrong, anyway one year isn't that much of a difference when you're over a 100 I guess.
The way Alan said 'Avada Kedavra', the raw emotion in his voice and the way it broke, you very rarely hear something THIS good.
R.I.P Professor Snape & Alan Rickman.
Imagine how all the staff felt seeing their leader/friend die after being with them all for so long. Like Slughorn would’ve been devastated because he just returned and then his friend dies, and McGonagall who had been by his side through all the movies as his deputy, and he’s gone from her. Then Snape, who trusted him and helped do what he needed to do over these years and then for him to die. The most powerful wizard in the world is dead, and what a legend he was.
I have to mention how cute that Harry and Ginny moment was though 😍😍😢
I think it's so adorable how Ginny is the only one to go to Harry. It shows their loving Bond and it's further exemplified by how they cry on each other's shoulders when they mourn Dumbledore.
Omg, I love it when Ginny hugs Harry. I think they are super cute. A lot of ppl hate them tho, escpically on screen, and I'm just like WHY??????
Sabrina Hutt Oddly that awkwardness made me love them even more.
3:03 Here's to all those who lost their lives at Pulse nightclub on Sunday morning…
*the part where they raised their wands for Dumbledore just breaks my heart😢*

Sorry for my English because I’m French
the actors in harry potter are amazing
The song is what made me feel the sadness .
This was a truly sad moment in Harry Potter. I'll never forget this.
"You must be the one to kill me Severus, that is the only way. Only then will the dark lord trust you completely". "Severus, please". Is not meant for mercy, but Dumbledore asking Severus to kill him.
I cried at his death the most, ok I’m lying I cried at dobby’s the most. But his the second
Exactly same 😥😭😭🎈
