Breville just don't stop. I'd love to be in the design team room and the test lab watching how they figure out if its good bad or ugly. Thanks for showing this Caitlin.
Your videos literally make my day. It makes me feel so refreshed and loved and free from all the nonsense on the internet . Keep making these and stay happy always ❤
It’s actually priced very well. I paid almost 600 for just my coffee grinder and over 1800 for my espresso machine. Considering this is an all in one package I’d say that’s a steal if you wanna get in the hobby
Upgrade is a strong word. It takes all the puck prep out of your hands. Probably works fine, but i rather be able to bust up clumps and make sure the water flows evenly through all the grounds.
I may have just found your channel just now but i want to tell you that you should never stop doing these videos and dont listen to the hate comments you are loved ❤
For milk drinks it is okay. For pure espresso, don’t even bother. It is very unreliable and frustrating due to the lack of distribution of the coffee puck. You cannot get the same taste twice with the built in tamper as it tamps completely without distribution, which is why it causes bad channeling.
@@sushisea not with the built in grinder. It is a closed space, if you pull out the portafilter after grinding, half of the coffee will fall down. You would need to use the manual dosing mode with a dosing cup or use a dosing funnel. The automated dosing does not work like that obviously and the manual dosing amount setting is very inconsistent. Breville solved an non existing issue with this machine. There are cheap tampers out there that take out the guesswork, you just have to press down a bit.
We just replaced our Francis Francis with this exact machine. It’s great. The only problem we have is that the coffee beans we love, Graffeo, are kind if oily, so we often have to play around with the beans in the grinder to achieve the smiley face green bar.
I decided on the Bambino Plus since I am a beginner. I didn’t want to spend that much money on an expensive espresso machine and not use it. I have to consistently use it for the next few years and if so then I’ll upgrade to a high quality maker.
Me friend has the express and I want it so bad omfg. I have a little cheapie one that gets the job done- but a nice one like this seems like an absolute dream
I just have a humble v60 at home and good beans, I love it and think it makes really satisfying coffee, but I see so many of these machines and think ooooooh that looks nice, but do you really need this for standard black coffee? 🙏
I'm really in 2 minds about getting this or the regular express. Want to learn also and not be too automatic but concerned that the pressure of the express not being 9 being an issue with quality over the impress
I get a small black coffe with a shot of espresso at Starbucks. That alone can be $6.30. So do the math. Now say you have a partner that also loves coffee. Trust me. It may sound crazy but this is just the upfront cost. The long term is where the play is at. Do the math.
I have this coffee machine- is there any chance you can tell me what grind setting you have yours on? I’m struggling to reach optimal espresso range :(
I struggle to get that golden brown extraction whenever I pull a shot, I just can’t seem to find the right grind size to get that colour. I always get black drips or a thin black stream of espresso..
Black drips might indicate the grind size is too small, or that you've overpressured and collapsed the puck. As for colour, that can be affected by age of the beans as stale beans won't produce much crema.
go to global.jd.com and search for philips 2200 series. It's not the greatest espresso machine(who said you need one?) but supper easy to use and hassle free, best of all it's only $200.
I hate the beginning part. To get in the door you gotta pay a 900$ entrance fee 😂. Doing research I understand a little. This has the tamper, grinder, and steamer. If you wanna stop going to starbucks but not be confused by all the different gadgets you need to make espresso then this machine would be perfect
You forgot to mention 2 negative points about the design, especially placing it in the kitchen under kitchen cupboards like many of us and you have; filling the hopper with beans, and refilling the water
I have this exact machine and yeah it's not a machine that lends itself well to being put away in a cupboard. It really needs to be out and setup all the time otherwise what's the point of the hopper and water tank? But once it is setup it automatically remembers how much to grind every time and the self-tamping makes pulling an espresso shot as easy as using a Nespresso pod. You might have to reteach it when you change the bean type or grind size but it figures it out itself. If you buy from certain retailers Brevilles beanz subscription service will give you 12 bags of beans for free delivered as a subscription. I haven't had to buy any since I bought it.
Shame on you!!! You know this and all super automatic machines (because it does not distribute at all) the only thing do perfect it's channeling coffee... bitter and hard to dial if not impossible!!!... you know all this. You are kind of pro !!!

Just bought this for wifey for Mother's day. Awesome to see you doing a review of it Caitlin.
Loved your attitude on YMH too. #HateFromAustralia
You are so lucky Caitlin that’s a really cool espresso maker! Really expensive too!! ☕️❤ ❤☕️
Maybe should invest in a treadmill too🤷♂️

You always make such great videos 🤘👍☕💜
Thank you Tom segura
Pretty happy with my Barista Express, but that built in tamper looks pretty awesome!
Great review thank you
Thanks for watching!

I think you can take it out to do so before putting it back in for tamping

Make sure to use a good water filter with that. They are prone to mineral build up
That looks sick
Awesome... i wish i had one!

I saw that in New Zealand. Wasn't even too expensive either. So it actually works. Their R&D team are off the charts.

These comments are not it. I love that you have your own coffee shop 💜
Was literally researching these online the other day and you just described it as exactly what I need. Got my sub anytime, dope vid!
Is it tamping and measuring after multiple times in between adding coffee? Or just sensing the level?
This is the expresso machine i want when i get a house big enough.
Espresso not eXpresso
Hi which coffee are you using?
Breville lowers the barrier to entry for consumers to get into espresso which is why it’s so great
Yooo can you maybe write a blog with all the devices you own and gadgets you recommend to people who want to get started making good espressos?
perfect

This time the built in grinder is actually a good product since it’s actually a Baratza Grinder.

No, about $800 -$900

Careful with these two in one machines. If one of those breaks you are boned and if you are out of the one years warranty you are double boned.

Reducing the wasted grounds from the express because of how it piles up and having to pull the portafilter out, nice.
