I like that your main interest in the grande finale was the exact pronunciation of the sunflower samurai's name, instead of the culmination of the story.
I think people really have the wrong expectations with Samurai Champloo . People talk down about the story because it doesn't have a great story, or the lack of continuation in the story (like the zombie/baseball/marijuana field) episode, but I think Samurai Champloo is more about 3 lonely, different people ending up on a great journey together and develop a friendship. It's not about the story and intricate plot, it's about the journey. Plus, it has some of the greatest visuals and soundtracks in my opinion.
I agree, after watching the show again, I actually like all of those off episodes that has nothing to do with the plot. I think that’s a reflection of reality as a lot of unnecessary things get in the way of your journey but you deal with it and keep on moving. But despite all of those inconveniences, the experiences really do play a big part in developing the 3 main characters later on.
It's such a good anime and I liked the ending, it was bitter sweet. Cowboy Bebop was made by the same person as Champloo, some of the characters in each remind me of each other.
I wouldnt call it bitter sweet. Because non of the main characters died, and Fuu got visit the samurai who smells of sunflowers. Now there were specific episodes that ended pretty sad.
Bebop champloo and space dandy take place in the same “world” just at different times and it’s confirmed cannon ☺️. There are references to both bebop and champloo in dandy apparently. Watanabe sensei is a genius and in my opinion the greatest anime director of all time
the ending when all 3 of them went on their own different journey, you see Jin walked towards a temple because he went to the woman who he saved from the brothel mugen while walking you can clearly see between his legs there was a woman wearing stockings and footwraps and that is the exact ninja woman who fell in love with mugen fuu maybe is with her uncle and aunt and is enjoying her life edit: i forgot to mention that i think it is necessary if you could watch the ending of this episode again cause there was a bird of orange blueish colour sitting on a tree behind mugen which i believe symbolised"Death" cause when mugen was going to die this episode a bird was carrying him but then seemed to drop him i guess meaning that Death is always one step behind mugen
@@Kendipity. you should check out the symbolism and philosophy of bebop as well. That show is immensely deep and needs to be watched multiple times to even scratch the surface
Samurai champloo is compared to bebop because it’s from the same guy. He created/directed both series (his name is shinichiro watanabe) and champloo is almost like the spiritual successor to bebop. The guy who voices mugen also voices spike from bebop, the group dynamic is very similar to bebop as well. He also directed space dandy and it’s pretty much confirmed that bebop , champloo and space dandy take place in the same fictional universe just at different times in history. He also made the shows “kids on the slope “ and “carrol and Tuesday”. The man is the single greatest anime director of all time and a literal genius . We are actually overdue for a new anime from him but I guess things happen on his timeline lol
so far I watched this, cowboy bebop and kids on the slope (not on this channel). I need to get more acquainted with his work, but so far I loved the three I watched!!
R.I.P. nujabes

He says he isn't a lapdog because he doesn't need the job and they provide him with wealth and protection
Samurai champloo was a journey i loved every bit of it same as cowboy bebop
Same director/creator, the guy is amazing . Everything he does is anime first too, he never adapts from manga it’s all his own creations
