Then cried again when Ippo asked Kamogawa what it meant to be strong, because that "spiritual quest" is the core reason that made Ippo get into boxing.

Hajime no ippo is doing pretty good on YT actually. If you look at all the YT short edits of this show they sometimes reach millions of views and people are still making more edits
I like this part where Kamogawa privately asks Ippo if he found the strength he was looking for. It's one of the few moments you see Kamogawa speaking with Ippo in a humbling tone, because this is something very personal for Ippo and not something the coach ingrained on him, so he approaches the matter with proper respect. For me their mentor/trainer to student/fighter relationship is one of the many wholesome things of this manga/anime.
Ngl, Ippo vs Sendo will always be one of my absolute favorite anime fights of all time, this sent me on a whole other plane of hype the first time i saw this.🔥 Also really loved the whole philosophy going on with the question of "What it means to be strong?". Essentially the answer we got in the end is that becoming "strong" is never an end-goal but rather a never ending process of becoming better every step of the way.
Being strong is about overcoming, not about eliminating, that's what Sendo learned from Ippo and Sendo passed this on to Sawamura after he lost to Ippo.

(1:12:58 - 1:20:48) Arguably one of the most epic, emotionally intense and just fantastic scene of the entire japanimation. Everything to the very minute details is perfect, may it be the music (i've never loved the music until that scene), the sound effects, the build-up of the fight, the realization of Sendo when he said "i understand now... this fight between the both us is not going to come to an end until one of us falls dead" 1:16:16, the infamous "What does it mean to be strong?" 1:16:38 of Ippo who always gives me chills, the comments of Fuji-san, Takamura-san, Coach Kamogawa, Sendo's coach and everyone else on how absolutely outstanding, incredible and unbelievable the fight they are watching is, like if it was some kind of fight you see once in a lifetime, everyone's excitement to see such an amazing performance from these boxers fighting for their life in that ring (poor Sendo tho his ribs were done dirty) and HOLY FUCK the end of the scene 1:20:38 with the guitar riff and that final scene depicting the intense death match of these two whom would rather die than to give up, everything. Just, everything. Everything is perfect. If i can wish something, it is to never be bored or tired of this scene, because that made me feel something i've never felt before, especially at the "What does it mean to be strong, coach?" like goddamn just typing it gives me goosebumps i'm serious. But damn what i love this show man, Hajime No Ippo will forever have a special place in my heart... Forever.

(dont care how late i am to commenting on this video) Let me first say, i Love the sports of Boxing and MMA as a whole, not for the violence but because you get anime esk trial and tribulation arcs from each fighter before they make it to the bout... 9/10 youll have heard all about at least one of the fighters before hand and the moment they step into the ring or octagon you feel so invested in the fight its as if your there... Whether you watch a crushing defeat, a hard-fought win, and everything in-between... This show captures that so well its chilling... Ippo VS Sendo is exactly as its decribed.. a "Mix-up"... If these were real people and this was televised, everyone attending as well as watching would never know who would come out on top, every exchange, every jab, straight, hook, side step, feint, Smash, liver blow, Rib Shot, Uppercut... All of it... This show, this fight on its own gave such a realistic vibe to it and thats an achievement all on its own. This show actually can get you to root for Ippos opponent at times just because you get there backstory and why they box to begin with... This Fight on its own is Titanic... Its one of the few things i rewatch on my own and get the exact same feelings i got the first time i watched it. (For me thats hard because most things i watch once and dont get the enjoyment of rewatching unless someone else is a first time viewer) From beginning to end this bout between Ippo and Sendo is like the ultimate love letter to the sport of Boxing as a whole and its beautiful how its done...
