What I love about this scene is that they both truly were heartbroken by the storyline of frank. And both are such good actors they were able to channel all that into the performance. Black excellent actors.
This scene is very interesting looking at it as an adult. Him feeling like he’s entitled to have these conversations with his family after he messed up and not really respecting their time to process really shows what most males expect in relationships. This show came out when I was a teenager and I’m mid 30s now.

This storyline was so sad. It eventually got a bit better when Dorian called him dad after meeting his birth mother, but he was a good guy and did the best could. They didn’t need to add this twist to the show!
They could've did a fresh prince of Belair type of thing and just made Dorian the comedy relief to somewhat replace Kim's punch lines...his drama worked my nerves and I can't watch 5 - 6 at all...to me moesha is seasons 1 - 3. Even season 4 got a bit shacky as far as having and interesting storyline...you can feel countess and brandy tension.

I think the producers imo wanted to base this storyline off of stereotype in the black community. Our father's have to have secrets in the marriage, family etc including the child outside of marriage. The problem with this is bc Frank was a successful business owner and his wife was a principal was too clean for the black household. All in all it was just a plot to tear down the black family. Im not taking up for Frank but the character development went downhill once this storyline played out
