The real villain in the whole show was Frank. It was literally like every move he made dropped bombs on Moesha: Dating/marrying her teacher, making her a prisoner in her own house, blaming her for everything, getting rid of her deceased mother’s things, hiding a child from everyone… he was a nightmare

He wasn’t living with his mother, he was living with his “aunt” (Frank’s sister), who he was made to believe was his mother. His real mother was alive and remarried with two more kids. I get your point though, it could’ve been reminiscent of Will’s character on the Fresh Prince.

I disagree Ray J is very talented. I actually like the plot change because it showed that everyone has a past that they're trying to run away from but eventually that past is gonna catch you and your just gonna have to deal with it.

Frank was often counterproductive when it came down to how he treated Mo. Moesha was no different than any other teenager who was coming of age. For the most part Moesha also tried her best to love and respect her dad. But no matter what she did to prove it, Frank always had to find something wrong anyway. Mo’s stepmother (Dee) was actually the direct opposite and was nothing but fair especially as the show progressed.

The new head writers. The original creators & head writers (Sara Finney & Vida Spears) left to go do The Parkers for Countess. Vida Spears created the character of Dorian in the S5 premiere to serve as the teenage foil for Frank since Moesha was 18 and in college and Myles was still too young in middle school to take the mantle. The new head writers (Edmonds, Hutchenson & Johnson) decided mid season to make the change from nephew to son... for no good reason.
I mean I wouldn't go as far as blaming it on countess leaving the show. I saw Kim leaving the show being really good for neicy, bc I feel like they didn't know what to do with her until season 4 especially after Kim left.the dorian part could've been way better, or at the very least, they could've given the role to miles, seeing that he is very unused in the show.

I was always on the fence with this show from season 2 on. Season 1 was fun. But by season 2 with Q, it just became drama after drama after drama. After this twist in season 5, I was done. And it's unfortunate because I have a family member who co-wrote 3 episodes in Season 6. I just never bothered to watch even as an act of support.

All this because Countess left the show. I want to know who in the world thought it was a good idea to make Frank a deadbeat and suddenly turn this show into a soap opera.
The new head writers. The original creators & head writers (Sara Finney & Vida Spears) left to go do The Parkers for Countess. Vida Spears created the character of Dorian in the S5 premiere to serve as the teenage foil for Frank since Moesha was 18 and in college and Myles was still too young in middle school to take the mantle. The new head writers (Edmonds, Hutchenson & Johnson) decided mid season to make the change from nephew to son... for no good reason.
I mean I wouldn't go as far as blaming it on countess leaving the show. I saw Kim leaving the show being really good for neicy, bc I feel like they didn't know what to do with her until season 4 especially after Kim left.the dorian part could've been way better, or at the very least, they could've given the role to miles, seeing that he is very unused in the show.
They ruined Frank's character, and they ruined the show. Before the whole "im not your uncle im your father" crap, it was a wholesome show about a middle-class black family. That's the main reason Sheryl Lee Ralph left the show.
Frank shouldn’t never cheated n the 1st place, that was good that Dorian was Mo’s brother on that show & n real life Ray J’s my 3rd favorite singer Brandy & Ray J both look alike.
He didn't cheat though. Frank and Moe's mom were legally separated at the time. After some time, they decided to get back together. I forgot why Dorian was given to his sister to raise.

I was always on the fence with this show from season 2 on. Season 1 was fun. But by season 2 with Q, it just became drama after drama after drama. After this twist in season 5, I was done. And it's unfortunate because I have a family member who co-wrote 3 episodes in Season 6. I just never bothered to watch even as an act of support.
