He uses a lot of grit in his Nightwish vocals, but he's got many facets to his voice... search Marko and Floor, Ave Maria for a different sound!
This song was prefaced in the concert with a spoken part about a pair who had an anniversary (in a relationship). The woman had spent three hours in the kitchen and the guy decides to go out for a sausage meal. The relationship is destroyed - hence the song title - Romanticide. It's a fun song.

There is a full DVD of the concert, but you can only play it on a European DVD player or a computer because it is region locked to Europe. DVD players on computers can change regions in the settings. I believe that the entire concert is available on RUclips, but you wouldn't be able to play it without constant editing without getting blocked. That is, you could watch it yourself up to each point to watch a song, but you'd do yourself a disservice to watch it all the way through before finishing your reactions. There were 15 songs on the set list. About half were songs redone by Floor that were originally done by the first singer Tarja (the "j" is pronounced like a "y" and technically the "r" is rolled). Tarja and Floor are friends. Last note: When I bought my tickets to WOA in 2012, they sold out two days later. At that time, Anette Olzon was the lead singer of Nightwish. Only a month or two later, Nightwish fired her, and asked Floor to finish the concert tour into 2013 - including Wacken. While I had seen Floor in After Forever years prior, I wasn't sure how the transition would go - you never know. Floor took the stage and made it her own from the first song. She wasn't technically a member of the band yet, but the band was definitely leaning that way. Troy (the guy who plays the pipes) also was added at the same time. OK. Maybe too long. Keep up the good work. NW fans love it!
I watch a lot of reactions but seldom comment on said reactions. I make an exception on this one because I really enjoy how thoughtful and thought-provoking your reactions are. I see that at times you have a bit of trouble finding the english language words to describe what you're seeing, but pretty much all of us in the Nightwish Army long ago ran out of superlatives to describe Nightwish band members, songs and performances. In a lot of songs Marko and Floor will play a role. In this song Floor is a woman pushed to the edge by a controlling man, who is played by Marko. You''ll find that Marko has a comparable range to Floor. Floor's range is D3-G6 and Marco's is E2-G#5, with more than three octaves each to work with the harmonies are flawless 😁

Key changes, time changes, singers playing back and forth with and off each other, having obvious fun and remaining professional - that's Nightwish. This line up of members was more like a family than a band. Love it.
When Marko joined Nightwish Tuomas said in an interview he now had two best singers in Finland in his band. And it was not that much of an exaggeration. Marko's never been a backing vocalist, he's the male lead.

Heavy Metal is actually mostly influenced by classical music. Especially the guitars are playing kinda classical strings. The pentatonics and harmonies heavey metal bands play are the same you would find in classical violines or cellos

A small Dutch pronounciation lesson: It is "Ja" as in the english word "yacht" (which comes from Dutch, by the way). So the pronounciation of Floor Jansen is Floor Yansen, not Djensen or Djansen.
Marko is incredible singer, he has been lead singer in metal bands since the early 80s! His techniques and range is absolutely incredible for a male vocalist, and he does this while absolutely slaying it on the bass! That is such a hard thing to do at that level And to top it all, he is singing with half paralyzed vocal cords due to failed throat surgery (he lost a huge part of his range) in the late 90s 😂... he wasn't even supposed to be able to talk normally anymore, let alone sing like a viking God 😂 ❤ 10:03 Yes, this is very accurate. Tuomas (the keyboardist, composer, writer/poet) also known as Metal-Mozart doesn't write songs, he writes poems and tells them as emotional stories via music ❤

Now I can see him performing with his soul because yes, playing the bass is super hard, second singing such a high metal notes is pretty difficult and even harder when you have had problems with his cords! @@CamiVocalist Initially the band was best known in Europe because they were from Finland. They expanded to U.S. (though they became massively better known in the U.S. once the RUclips reactors started airing clips). I knew of them/went to Wacken Open Air (WOA) because I traveled in Europe and had heard them back in early 2000 when their first singer was still in the band. I do think that culturally this isn't the type of music you would see in Columbia (like I doubt you would see American "Country" music). Probably most Europeans would be unfamiliar with U.S. "Country" music and maybe even unfamiliar with common music from Columbia (excuse my ignorance - I don't know what's common there - Never been there). Pop music seems to travel. Shakira, for example became well known in the U.S. and in Europe. Finland has a whole other culture. Metal music isn't just a thing, it's like pop music in most other cultures. It's the main music in Finland. While I have traveled to Korea and Japan, I couldn't give you much of a overall picture of their music. I know K-Pop (from Korea) is well received in the U.S., even though most Americans don't understand the words. I only know two bands from Japan, so that's not representative. I hope this helps in some small way.

Is it possible you are playing the band through some room speakers and then letting this mix into your mic? It has a bit of an echo or something like maybe it is bouncing off the wall of your room? As pointed out in other review, something is making the sound "off." We know because NW fans coming here have heard the reactions hundreds of times.

Marko is incredible singer, he has been lead singer in metal bands since the early 80s! His techniques and range is absolutely incredible for a male vocalist, and he does this while absolutely slaying it on the bass! That is such a hard thing to do at that level
And to top it all, he is singing with half paralyzed vocal cords due to failed throat surgery (he lost a huge part of his range) in the late 90s 😂... he wasn't even supposed to be able to talk normally anymore, let alone sing like a viking God 😂 ❤
10:03 Yes, this is very accurate. Tuomas (the keyboardist, composer, writer/poet) also known as Metal-Mozart doesn't write songs, he writes poems and tells them as emotional stories via music ❤
Wow, that makes me have a totally different approach to what I hear when Marko sings. Now I can see him performing with his soul because yes, playing the bass is super hard, second singing such a high metal notes is pretty difficult and even harder when you have had problems with his cords! Very nice and heartfelt reaction. We can see that you feel and enjoy this great music and that you also have the knowledge to recognize the sublety and finesse of the composition and the performance. In time you will no doubt also appreciate the beautiful and intricate lyrics. As you are from Colombia, I would suggest for you a Nightwish recording from Bogota during their Decades tour 2018. It will also give you a chance to hear a totally different side of Nightwish, and will also introduce to you the third singer in the band.

@@CamiVocalist Initially the band was best known in Europe because they were from Finland. They expanded to U.S. (though they became massively better known in the U.S. once the RUclips reactors started airing clips). I knew of them/went to Wacken Open Air (WOA) because I traveled in Europe and had heard them back in early 2000 when their first singer was still in the band. I do think that culturally this isn't the type of music you would see in Columbia (like I doubt you would see American "Country" music). Probably most Europeans would be unfamiliar with U.S. "Country" music and maybe even unfamiliar with common music from Columbia (excuse my ignorance - I don't know what's common there - Never been there). Pop music seems to travel. Shakira, for example became well known in the U.S. and in Europe. Finland has a whole other culture. Metal music isn't just a thing, it's like pop music in most other cultures. It's the main music in Finland. While I have traveled to Korea and Japan, I couldn't give you much of a overall picture of their music. I know K-Pop (from Korea) is well received in the U.S., even though most Americans don't understand the words. I only know two bands from Japan, so that's not representative. I hope this helps in some small way.

Is it possible you are playing the band through some room speakers and then letting this mix into your mic? It has a bit of an echo or something like maybe it is bouncing off the wall of your room? As pointed out in other review, something is making the sound "off." We know because NW fans coming here have heard the reactions hundreds of times.

No complaints here, but if you can I would try to improve the sound quality a little bit. Your speaking voice sounds fine, but the music sounds like you are in the bathroom. Could the problem be that you are not using headphones? Again, just an advice
