The amazing thing about their live performances is, I can watch the same performance 1000 times and the next time I'm STILL bouncing and head banging as hard as the first time I heard it! NEVER gets old!
I'm 63 listened to alot of different genre's of music I've heard many bands and many many songs that will live forever. But in my life i have never been so astonished , bewildered fn blown away as from symphonic metal.Bands such as nightwish, epica, within temptation, edenbridge, leah,leaves eyes, visions of Atlantis and so many more I'm discovering because of people like you.

Yep. Floor and Marko's vocal slide is one of the most EPIC things I have heard them do.
When I discovered Nightwish, it was through their "Decades" album, which was all songs by the original singers. And so not a lot of Floor. But I immediately wanted to hear what Floor's version of every song would sound like. That's kind of what's happening with this crowd. Here they are, listening to this relatively unknown singer singing all of these famous songs. Little did the know, coming in, about the giant upgrade they were witnessing. 🤘🤘

Floor had not been asked to join the band until after Wacken. Her tour with them began the year before in Seattle. Tuomas asked Floor to stand-in after Anette had become sick.
I liked the fact that you mentioned the audience. If you ever watch the whole concert you can see the changes in their appreciation of Floor. From, oh another singer, to OMG she's amazing!!
Lots of them had bought tickets expecting Annette,
this was the first time at Wacken with Nightwish for Floor.
Marko introduced her as the new voice just before "Dark Chest of Wonders".

Sometimes when you feel your energy is low and you'll need something to boost up your day. This is a very good song to get your feet going.

Romanticide is up near the top of the list in my opinion. Your lighting and sound are fine. Loved your reaction. The dynamics in this song reminds me of “Song of myself” in this same concert.

I call that ending cresecendo/decrescendo the "banshee glissando". It's flat-out AMAZING!
There are other versions and in one Marco introduces it. Paraphrasing he says: "I know it's Valentines day and you've been slaving in kitchen for 3 hours making a marvellous meal - coq au vin I think. But this is Germany and I'm going out to find some Currywurst! I love sausages! That's Romanticide".
@NickR Nope, it's this Wacken version he does the introduction which is only in the full concert video, not the official song video on its own: "So now it's time for the open letter, I might show a little bit of bad taste with this but I'll do it anyway; so this is how it goes, Dear; insert wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, or whatever. . . . . . . ."
@@572Btriode I assumed that, by "other versions," he meant just that other youtube posters have uploaded their own extracts of this same concert and that some of those others included the sausage joke. That's the way I read it anyway.

In my opinion Empuu's solo here is even better than the one on the album. He kills it.

Found a vid on YT the other day of Marko & Floor performing together on stage at a Delain concert from 2009. With their previous experience harmonising, no wonder they sound so good together in Nightwish.

From what I hear from other reaction channels the pausing really doesn't matter much in getting the video blocked or not. It is usually not the bands or labels who throw the strike on the video, exceptions not withstanding. Nuclear Blast is known for striking video's of artists signed on to them. Napalm records is very relaxed and often helps out reactors.
You may want to reach out to some of them and see where they stand.

Those little things make this concert so extra magical: four-handed guitar hero with inflatable purple guitar, the awe of that gorgeous woman, that you mentioned etc. Those moments are in every song.

And to quote TankTheTech: emppu uses his signature guitar the ESP EV-1 (EV= Emppu Vourinen). ;) sry had to be, when i hear nice guitar or purple guitar, i always have to think of Tank :D. Floor was only nervous till she walked through the curtain onto the stage.
Epic as always - the title literally means "killing of romance" as in pesticide, patricide, herbicide, fratricide, homicide or suicide.
The back-and-forth trading of lead vocals between Floor and Marco is epic, and Emppu's guitar solo is both fitting for the song (as it always is) and (less commonly) a chance for him to show off his virtuosity all over the fretboard with both hands.
You remarked on his guitar - he has been using the same one for years (still that same purple one, although he has an otherwise identical white one as backup) and is his own signature design, the EV-1, made for him by ESP guitars, and returned to their custom shop for a full overhaul after every tour. EV are, of course, his initials - Emppu Vuorinen.
If you want to see Floors crowd control try Amaranth from the same show.

If it wasn't for the intervention of death, Nightwish would have been the perfect band to open for Motörhead. A jam with both of the bands in the middle would have been truly cool!!
This is a damn good song.
But this performance in particular lifts it from "damn good" up to "totally awesome"!
I agree that at least part of this is because of the way the band members are all working together and clearly having a good time. I, too, by the way, love that glissando where Floor and Marco start low and just glide up, and up, and up, and Marco fades out and Floor keeps going and then comes about halfway back down again *on the same breath*! And both of them are like: Passagio? What passagio?

Impu has always been a fine guitarist, and mature in never overwhelming anything else in a given piece, but this is the cut where he was allowed to take no prisoners and slaughter anyone who didn't know just how truly great he is. The vocal slide Floor shared with Marco was something I've never heard anywhere else and was memorable. I look forward to your reactions, Sabina, and this one was excellent. I enjoy how you include text reactions during the video. Nice job! Cheers.
There are many great guitarists and you can be good in many ways, but to me emppu is just something very special. Overall I cannot imagine any other guitarist whose performances would bring me even close to the same enjoyment. It is actually difficult to describe it but on one hand guitars do not play the most essential role in Nightwish's music in general and still emppu is able to elevate the songs and at least to me (maybe biased as I'm a guitarist my self) the guitars are very very prominent and enjoyable in so many of their songs.

Not her first show, this was about 10 months after her first show with Nightwish, but most likely her biggest show since joining the band, and most of the fans in attendance had probably never seen her perform before. But yes, she did slay it for sure!

@@peterbell3199 I believe it was the biggest show ANY of them had done up to that point, as they were headlining, and this meant that they, unlike other bands at Wacken, had no competition from any of the other stages (I think it was 5 stages and a couple of smaller alternative venues on-site that year). And they were closing. Just as well because who could possibly have followed that performance?
@@phillee2814 Agreed it was an amazing show. I've seen over 50 hard rock/metal concerts in person, and hundreds more on video, and the Queensyche Operation Mindcrime concert supporting the Empire album is the only concert that comes close to the brilliance of the Nightwish Wacken 2013 show.
I actually like the lighting in this vid. Background not so much, but the light fill and spread really like.
Still haven't worked out if the tickets went on sale for Wacken 2013 was before Annette left. As Anette started the world tour this performance at the tail end of.

I've always wondered if part of the reason the band is smiling so much is they remember when they had to borrow two singers from their opening band just to put on a concert. Also if there was a time machine and everyone who wanted to be at this concert went there, the crowd would be more like 150K instead of 82K.

You still have a large amount of Nightwish songs to have a go at so can I suggest Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from Buenos Aires for a different side of Floor. You might like to broaden your horizons with Ayreon's The Day That the World Breaks Down with 11 repeat 11 of the best metal singers around. This is the first track of a prog rock Opera album.

Wonderful song, I only got to know Nightwish after Floor was in Beste Zangers (Dutch tv program where musicians celebrate each others music). Pity Marco decided to leave NIghtwish this year, i think in many songs combination of his voice and that of Floor creates magic.
The lighting actually looks good to me. Nice and mellow, but not dark. Haha, the SASS in this song, my gosh! Just when you think it can't get any cooler, there goes the roof! Marco loved that the didn't have to hold back with Floor the way he did with Anette. Can't wait till you get to Alpenglow, my personal favorite.

YES!! A thousand times yes! That is one performance that is practically compulsory for singer reactors. My favourite reaction is of course Elizabeth Zharoff on her channel, The Charismatic Voice but Sabina would do an epic job too.

Yeah, the pauses don't really do anything but make you feel like you're doing something. YT algorithms can and will recognize the audio from just 1-2 seconds of stream, even if you have 1 hour pauses between those 2 second clips. If they actually failed to recognize the audio you would be able to monetize the video freely, you know. No Content ID or anything.

Wacken in October? Not very likely ...
The Wacken Air Festival for 2021 has already officially been canceled. Nightwish does have some tour dates in November & December in Germany this year, but not Wacken. At this point in time, Wacken Open Air 2022 is scheduled for Aug 4-6, 2022.
