- Ok...Another Nightwish reaction. You guys said do Romanticide so we are doing Romanticide. Wow!, These guys are awesome. It is super interesting trying to figure out the different singer in this band at different times. But the singer Floor....Holy Moly...She is sooo good. I cannot wait for more Nightwish.

Wacken is by far the biggest metal festival on this planet; 82000 fans were watching this venue back in 2013, nowadays it is holding +100000 metal heads. As the little town of Wacken is located in Northern Germany where lots cows are bred, the logo of the festival is a burning bull's skull.
🤘😎🤘 Cool reaction, guys. Such a great song. It was written by Nightwish's keyboardist, bandleader and co-founder, Tuomas and bassist & singer, Marko. It was written for their 2004 album, Once, and sung by original lead vocalist & co-founder, Tarja. Tuomas brought Marko into Nightwish in 2001. He left Nightwish in January 2021. Tuomas brought Floor into Nightwish, as a touring singer, in September 2012 and made her an official member of Nightwish in October of 2013.
Wacken is a place in Germany. The crowd here was 82000. Every year the best metal bands come to play here.

Wacken is a ranching town in Germany, thus the flaming bull's head. It's pronounces Vah-ken. It holds one of the biggest rock/metal festivals in the world. Please, more Nightwish from Wacken 2013!!!

What is Wacken? It is one of the worlds biggest metal-festivals!! More than 80' fans every year come to celebrate metal. 2024 is sold out in a few hours. Wacken is a small village in the very north of germany and very weather dependent. This year 2023 the festival is sunken in mud and the ashes urn of Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead) was finally buried in the ground of Wacken because Motörhead was one of the bands who played most on the Wacken-Festival.

🤣 Wacken is one of the many open Metal air festivals that take 4 days. There were 82.000 people there, including me :D Wacken is in Germany. Nightwish was headliner and Floor (the female singer) was a stand in at this time, because they had to fire the other singer (not reliable with tours) She had to learn the whole setlist in 48 hours, during her flight from Holland to Denver. Floor is phenominal. She sings beautiful opera aria;s, growls like a big fat dude, screams, sounds like an angel. She really can do it all. Thanks for your reaction!! Subscribed :)
to be clear she had been with them around 10 months to this point and became an official band member after this show.
@@peteacad1 Floor and Troy were asked in late June/Early July by Tuomas, Marko, Empuu, and Jukka to become fulltime members but wasn't announcers till this dropped in November 2013. Filmed August 3rd.
Wacken ( german Ws are like our Vs, Vacken ) is a German village that hosts this metal festival, Wacken Open Air, each year since 1989.

And the emblem on the top of the stage is a cows, head or bulls head with flame that’s because they are basically in cow pastures. It’s kind of like the Sturgis of South Dakota. What once was farmland , Quiet - has now become a monster metal festival.
wacken is both a place and a festival. the almost a 1000 years old village wacken is some 3000 people strong, and thats rounded up already, while the 30+ years old festival wacken usually has around 80000 visitors every year sinking into the muddy earth at that village.

Wacken ? Well, Wacken. Wacken is THE German Metal Festival. It´s a very small town in the North of Germany. It´s some kind of Mekka to German, or let´s say European Metal Fans. Be there at least once in your lifetime, if you are a true Metal Fan.

Please do the whole Wacken show 2013. All the songs are amazing. Best performance ever. And when you listened to all of them, then imagine how much energy it must take to perform and sing this whole concert. And they are not like salt pillars on the podium. They PERFORM!!!!! Bloody hell!!!! This is in all aspects the absolute top in symfonic metal... Or stage performance in general....
What i love about this song being about spoiling a romantic moment, is the duo between Floor and Marko 6:38 almost like having an argument that couples do lol. At that moment too the music is tense and heavy and its a great story telling song. Marko does a good job introducing the song.

I had stopped listening to new music when disco appeared. Oldies and classic rock was the only music I listened to for 40 years. Found Nightwish and they rekindled my love of music. And now....The Warning, a trio of sisters from Mexico, have appeared out of their basement with a new sound, new music, and lyrics that hit you in the "feels" AND they are doing it with Rock&Roll. There is a revival going on and if you like old school R&R with a twist of Lime, you should check them out. Like Nightwish, The Warning is best served LIVE. Try any of the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert songs. Disciple, Evolve, Dust to Dust, When I'm Alone.... any song will make you smile. You'll be glad you did.

May I correct you please? Wacken had at 31.Dec 2022 exactly 2025 inhabitants...........and never had more than around 2000........

Wacken is in Germany, north West of Hamburg, every year they have one of the biggest if not the biggest metal festival on earth. Its a small Village of 1.8k (yes the decimal point is Spot on) inhabitants, but that changes in the first week of August every year to about 90k. About 160 artists and bands Come to this place every year to make a 3 to 4 days metal festival on 8 stages

If you want to do the whole of the Wacken 2013 set, we will not complain! There isn't a dud song among them. This is one of my favourites, and often surprises reactors who don't know Marko sings too (you'd heard _I_ _Wish_ _I_ _Had_ _An_ _Angel,_ so you were ahead of the game). If you don't want to do the whole set, maybe _Storytime_ next?

Didnt see the other rx, but assuming the person mentioned was Amy Lee, who is excellent, and also not Floor on any level. Unfortunately in the States we just dont see the level of ability that they see in Europe in common culture, so it is not fully our fault but we could also make more effort

What a fun reaction from both of you from one old guy to a couple more. This entire Wacken Open Air Festival 2013 concert is fantastic from show opener until the closer. Considering this was the first time the European audience had seen our 6'1" (barefoot) Valkyrie goddess, Floor Jansen, as the lead singer of Nightwish, it had to have blown their doors off. By the way, before it gets taken down, you should watch the amazing Nightwish concert from their sunset show at Hellfest 2022 in France. This version is remastered and AI enhanced video and is killer.
