    I have, in the past, played with 785 and zx7 mk1 irons. All great irons. Now with 223 pro and using similar modus 105S shafts , couldn't be more happier. More distance, more height and definitely better dispersion.

    The new titleist stuff is really good. I love the ZX7 too but it’s a little low in spin for me. I also like to squeeze it a bit and need the height and spin. I went T100 all the way through and love them so far.

    I have had ZX785/ 585 combo for 3 years now. I am really happy with those and have tried the ZX7:s many times. I just can't get used to that thicker topline. Would like to change every 3 years but so far nothing better than the ZX785:s. Actually I should have bought full set of 785:s. I had to bend my 5, 6 and 7 irons one degree weaker, otherwise the 7-iron flies 15m more than the 8. It still flies about 13m longer because more pop in the ZX585.
    I really need to try the T150, it looks very very nice. Not a fan of the Taylormade hollow body. If Taylormade, it would have to be the P7MC.
    Thnks for the video 👍

      No problem. The T150 will give you the neater top line you want with the performance too. Worth testing Mizuno MP243 as well

      @@Precision_Golf for sure. Wesley Bryan with the driver setup at the hosel for example. Mo Norman with the head a foot back from the ball. Golf is wild. We try to teach technical perfection when we should be teaching “golf”. Hit the ball somewhere near the target, however you can, find it, hit it again until it’s in the hole”.

    Great video Simon. I play the ZX7's (OG) - is playing a higher spinning ball the easiest way to increase spin and therefore flight? I've noticed a change in ball flight (lower peak) and lower spin (yet to verify with a launch monitor). Cheers from Australia

      That’s certainly a quick way to add 300 - 500 rpm spin. Adding a little loft will also help too

    All good heads. I had a fitting last year, T150 won easily. P770 was second, Srixon didn’t work for me. 3rd was Ping I230. Its why a fitting is a good idea, we all swing differently

    I’m using the Mizuno 223 pros. Love these when hit right. Have had them for a yr. I’m thinking these are a little too much for me. Miss hits you pay. Thinking of trying something different this winter. I’m hitting 7 iron 170-175, I’m 55 yrs old. Want something little more forgiving.
    Thinking of Paradym, Srixon … not sure which one, or something from Titleist.
    Any suggestions?
    Thx for the video.

    • @Precision_Golf

      Thanks Dave. The T150 is a good option, ZX5 will be more forgiving but lower spin so could be harder to control, MP225 (or the MP245 although have not tested these yet) would potentially work well without getting the face too hot or spin too low.

    Maybe you changed it and I didn't pick up on it but isn't the 770 a little weaker lofted.

    Interesting… I saw another vid where the t150 was almost a club further … and as I play p790’s I wanted to see that comparison.
    I sometimes think maybe I should play a “players iron” (6hcp) but it’s hard to give them up when 160m is an 8 iron and if it’s a back pin I can slightly chunk it and it’ll still carry to the green.
    Thinking now I’ll just got to a demo day and try them myself
    Great video

      The thing to be careful with is if the tester is not normalising loft (or at least taking it into account in their review) as this can misrepresent the products. As long as you have a balance of distances in the bottom of the bag that is the key, whether your 8i is 160m or 140m but at your distance it is more important to have good options and even gaps all the way down to your shorter club as the danger is that you have big gaps and little versatility from 120m and in. Sometimes giving up a little distance can help you score better but the P790 are a good club too!

      @@paulbutler5052 so with your distance reigning iron yardages back a little would help cover the shorter distances without having to play huge gaps

    In fittings, which irons seem to be the most forgiving on off center hits/ keeps ball speeds up across the face?
    Which irons seem to have the best front to back dispersion?
    Thanks!!

      There are a good few heads here as depending on the player and their delivery it can vary greatly. I find a more compact head helps consistency of ball speed and spin but other players find a deeper CG head with lots of tungsten in the sole works best. As a very broad generalisation T200, ZX5, G430 (all the usual suspects really) would give most consistency for someone whose strike pattern is less tight

    Hi! I am looking for a shaft with a high bend profile and a lower balance point.
    I have an aggressive, quick transition and an early release and a little flippy.
    Please tell me one shaft I could try from each the following manufacturers with a high bend profile and lower balance point from Dynamic Gold, Nippon Modus and KBS.
    Thank you again!!
    I appreciate your advice and I love your channel !!
    Thanks, Joe

    • @Precision_Golf
      @Precision_Golf  Год назад

      Thanks Joe - try Modus 125, KBS C-Taper. Dynamic golf is a little tougher as DG X100 is high bend profile but not too too heavy where Dg 120X faster s low balance point but not as high bend profile

    Off topic but are your fitting shafts universal with every iron? Is that a custom adapter or are they generally all the same size? Thanks

    Could someone with a 75-80 mph 7 iron swing land in this range. I like a smaller club head, but I don’t have the swing speed I used to.

    • @justinstephenson9360
      @justinstephenson9360 Год назад

      If your ball striking is good enough then definitely - my 7i swing speed is 80 mph and I use irons similar to the ones tested (i210s) without any issues, just wouldn't bother with a 4i as I do not have the speed to get enough launch

    Why the t150 over the t100?

    • @Precision_Golf
      @Precision_Golf  8 месяцев назад +1

      The T150 has the channel behind the face for a slightly higher ball speed but the spin profile is more similar to the other heads - the T100 would play noticeably weaker due to higher spin rates

    ZX5 better than all three, just as easy to hit, just as far, way more spin, can easily stop a 180 yd 5 iron on any green. All great clubs though. Great video.

      The ZX5 is lower spin than these heads but it is always a case of the right head for one person is not the right head for the next person. Glad you enjoyed the video!

      What an idiotic comment. First off, the ZX5 isn't comparable to the ZX7 (or the the other 2), secondly the 3 heads compared here are much, much smaller.
