I've started at Perrenporth liskey hill caravan site, but didn't play any golf. Nice area, there's a cider farm not far away I had a lost afternoon there 😎 love the sounds of the skylarks. Great vid Oggie.
Hi there and thank you for commenting. I have to say that’s it’s a great location and yes I saw the caravans later in the round. I can’t wait to go back and try again x
Just found this old vid john, the way things are on world just now holiday away this year not on.so like i said before always wanted to visit cornwall ,so a week in cornwall lookin possible.esp we that bonnie lookin courses.👍
stay safe and keep patient my friend and times will change and life will move on... keep positive and Cornwall will still be here for you to enjoy in the future x
Just stopped on your comment"We didn't realise there were going to be bunkers"!!! Greenside on a golf hole!! haha, Brilliant!! Love the pure vlogs of fun, this is what hobby golf looks like , 2 blokes having fun, hitting good and bad, just enjoying the walk, and understanding that how you actually play is secondary , Cornwall, like anywhere else is a beautiful place, the landscape , scenery, stunning!regards from your golfmate Fraser in Wiltshire!
Ha ha I know I say some random things when I am filming... I think I meant we didn’t know there would be a bunker in that actual place lol. Thank you for your lovely comments my friend and for your continuing support x
Thank you Jackie, if only my golf was worthy of the videos, there are six in all, part two on Saturday. But it’s a fabulous course but I had no idea where I was playing at times. BUT can’t wait to try again on and off camera x
That’s the main problem Jeff, and something that will keep cropping up in this series of videos. So often I thought I did ok and then climbed over a hill to see I was in serious mess. I have been told that you really need to play here a number of times before you start to work it out properly x
Been playing Perranporth for a week every couple of years on holidays. My favourite course bar none. Whatever happened to the concrete building on hole 12 or 13? You could see that from miles away.
There used to be a water tower to the right of the 12th but it's not been there in the last 6 or 7 years since I've been a member. The hole's cornish name, 'dowragh', translates to 'water tower'.
Same here my friend. I never seem to trust my own game when I can’t see where I am about to play. I end up just hitting a little shot in the hope I get to a point where I can see where I am going.
Honestly Dave the course of fabulous but super tricky. It’s a links course but on a cliff face lol. I have never seen a course with so many blind shots on it.
So Oggie u have a pocketful of balls but its Neal is losing all of his, remember sharing is caring so give him some if he runs out 😁nice looking track and great views
I’m staying in Perranporth right now and I’m kicking myself for not bringing my clubs, having seen the course today. This video has confirmed my mistake! I’ll be back 🏌️♀️
Yes they are Oliver. I wear lots of different sunglasses for all occasions but these are a couple of years old now and have lens to help see grass properly so they say ha ha. But I could do with a new pair now x
I think you are right Steve. It’s not the length it’s the complexity. You will see in other videos that from time to time I thought I hit a good shot and kind of assumed that the way would be clear on the other side of hill, only to find more thick rough in places I could never have realised lol
BOTH NEAL AND I LOVED PLAYING PERRANPORTH BUT BOY WHAT A CHALLENGE IT WAS... BUT WE WILL BE BACK AND HOPEFULLY WE WILL KNOW MORE ABOUT WHERE TO PLAY NEXT TIME LOL. PARTS TWO AND THREE COVERING THE FULL FRONT NINE WILL BE POSTED LATER THIS WEEK. IF YOU ARE LINKED WITH ANY COURSES IN THE WEST COUNTRY WHO MIGHT LIKE US TO COME AND FILM, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
That’s the old handicap scoring system my friend, but you can have up to a 54 now I believe. My club got involved in the new system a couple of years ago.
Wow happy days not been a member of a club for about 5 years and only play friendly golf 3or 4 times a year now and my friends who play only let me have 28 shots , will have to get a few more now I feel I’m about a 36 . Thanks for putting me right
Another stunner. Heavenly but with lots of trouble. Good match.
Oh o seriously tough course if you have never played it before x so many blind shots to contend with.
Thanks Oggie. Looks just the ticket. I’ll look to book a round when I’m down.
It’s a great course x takes some working out so bring plenty of balls x but a real challenge x

Oh yes the cider farm is Healeys which is where they make Rattlers Cyder x

Course looks awesome..!! Would love a drive down and play on that sometime.
Wonderful course. Worth playing in their golf week 28-30 August. Amazing views of the surf. You’ve made an awesome video! 🏌️♀️🏌🏻♂️🏖
Thank you Jackie, if only my golf was worthy of the videos, there are six in all, part two on Saturday. But it’s a fabulous course but I had no idea where I was playing at times. BUT can’t wait to try again on and off camera x
Perrenporth holds special memories for me and the beach is beautiful plus the butchers at the end of town used to make amazing pasties xx
mmm pasties... now thats a whole new video that is x
Im going on holiday to Newquay next week. Taking my clubs so im going to give this course a go.
Let me know how you get on and if you play there tell them you came because you saw the videos ok. its such a challenge
Looks hard that John you cant see where the ball has gone after hitting your shot , looking forward to part two .

@@BIGOGGIEGOLF yes a course where you have to plot your way around . Looks like you were hitting it well .
Love Perranporth, the course looks beautiful x
its a stunning course, we really must go take a look at the town and the beach next time we are near x

ooo i will try and find out for you. It's such a tricky course isn't it, especially, if like us, you had not played there before lol

Brilliant beautiful looking course but wouldn't suit me hate blind shots lol 😂😂😂👍👊

I need to get down to Cornwall looks fantastic
Yes you do my friend x
Blimey that looks like you’re playing golf at the top of the highlands! 🤣
Honestly Dave the course of fabulous but super tricky. It’s a links course but on a cliff face lol. I have never seen a course with so many blind shots on it.
BIG OGGIE GOLF The views look stunning again. I don’t mind the odd blind hole, but I couldn’t do that many in one round!
So Oggie u have a pocketful of balls but its Neal is losing all of his, remember sharing is caring so give him some if he runs out 😁nice looking track and great views
Ha ha yes but he is a great player as you will see in later videos... lol
@@BIGOGGIEGOLF thanks John. but great? lucky I like to think 🍀 😄
I’m staying in Perranporth right now and I’m kicking myself for not bringing my clubs, having seen the course today. This video has confirmed my mistake! I’ll be back 🏌️♀️
Oh it’s a serious course especially if you have never played it before. Takes a few times to make real sense of it.
Would love to play here but a little far away
one day my friend... you never know x thank you for commenting x
Nice sunglasses , are they Oakleys John?
Yes they are Oliver. I wear lots of different sunglasses for all occasions but these are a couple of years old now and have lens to help see grass properly so they say ha ha. But I could do with a new pair now x
Fair old drive from Leeds haha.
Well my friend I have driven past Leeds from down here just to play golf so you never know x
Well I do like to travel matey so hopefully one day 😀
Probably the most difficult golf course in Cornwall.
I think you are right Steve. It’s not the length it’s the complexity. You will see in other videos that from time to time I thought I hit a good shot and kind of assumed that the way would be clear on the other side of hill, only to find more thick rough in places I could never have realised lol

Bowood is (in my opinion ) the best parkland course in Cornwall . Well worth a visit.
It is a great course and really enjoyed it. Who knows where me and John will end up next. Won't have the first tee on camera jitters quite so much 😂
David Powell hi David, I would love to go film at Bowood. I will get in touch with them x
Handicap of 30 ??? Thought the highest a man could have was 28
