I remember many holidays at Sandy Bay in Exmouth and there used to be a public park with a pitch and put in Exmouth itself. That's where I first played with my dad. I wonder if it's still there?
Love pitch n putt, great to get non playing family members out there. Great memories too, had my first hole in one on one in Filey. Well done you two 👍
Got the golfing bug after play this course while on holiday last year, lovely, well maintained pitch & putt. It’s nice for us high handicappers do get pars or even the occasional birdie on a scorecard 😂 This year I played at Hayle & Radnor thanks to this channel. Well done 👍
Hi there Rob and thank you for taking the time to comment. It’s lovely that my channel has in some small way inspired you to come and play the courses we all live around here. Please spread the word about the channel to your friends and family x ever subscriber helps us x
Isn't this where we all started as kids! Summer holiday, a bit of seaside pitch and putt with a 9 iron and a putter. Don't lose the ball as it cost you 10p!!!!
@@thehairygolfer hi there my friend. I will find out if it still exists. There is a full size course called Merlin Mawgan Porth and they are good friends of mine, so they may well know.
Well I think I am still not accurate or indeed positive enough with a chip around the greens and it’s still very much an experiment x but will Improve I am sure lol
Ha ha are you showing your age now my friend… lol. If this mist comes down round here it will remind me of the horror film The Fog and then that would be very scary pirates indeed lol
Played this course with my son a couple of years ago and had a fantastic time, they bill it as a pitch and putt but I've played 'Par 3' courses at quite fancy country clubs that Holywell bay would put to shame. The only thing that lets it down is the mats, the greens and general condition of the course was excellent. Great short game practice with a surprising variety and challenge. Plus we saw a snake, which was fantastic, and a great incentive to stay out of the rough 😁
I guess mats are a common thing on pitch and putts and to be honest I think we only saw one during filming. But it is, as you say, a great and super tough course as opposed to the usual Pitch and Putt concept.
Never take pitch and putt for granted they show how bad your close game is not every golfer as the skill with wedges to pull these shots off great video 😫
Thank you for your support my friend. I think I may play these kind of courses a lot more because as you say, they will certainly improve my short game.
Hi oggie just some some constructive criticism, it might help your game if you actually put the ball in the hole instead of taking it away every time give me range or not
I do understand my friend and you could well be correct x I tend to do it to speed up filming because every extra shot that isn’t necessarily needed just wastes time and can help build up delays x but yes it’s a good idea x

Sadly gone now , shame really
@@stevenhanney1997 oh no! It was 40 years ago though!
Great video boys, very tricky pitch and putt, you are making it look easy, I've played it many times, really looking forward to this one 😀
Thank you Mark, I was amazed how tricky some of the holes were. Seriously harder than many Par 3 courses in all honesty.
Great to see how you can have fun at the biggest and the grass roots golf facilities. I love how you manage to showcase all the variety in golf.
Thank you x we do try and show all the range that golf has to offer x
Loved this video Oggie. Great to see that golf doesn’t have to be expensive and can still be lots of fun for all the family.
My teenage son has gone away from proper golf, but still likes to have a round of pitch and putt with me, when the weather is nicer though 🤣😉
Played pitch and putt at Plymouth Central Park as my first experience as a kid, they are great fun and helps your short game
I want to go back to my roots and see if the Pitch and Putt that I used to play in Bristol is still open.
We have a cool 9 hole pitch and putt at my local course! Great way to hone short game skills, great vlog
I have to say that I enjoy playing these kind of courses as much as the big courses. To me it’s a different challenge with similar equipment.
Love pitch n putt, great to get non playing family members out there. Great memories too, had my first hole in one on one in Filey. Well done you two 👍
Brilliant news on the hole in one my friend x do you owe me a drink now lol
@@BIGOGGIEGOLF that one was 24 years ago , lol...but I'll get you a pint one day hopefully 🍻

Great to hear you have played some of the courses on the channel. Thanks for watching.
It looks like great fun even with the famous Cornwall weather. 🌫🌧
Wait for the rest of the videos this week, we have so much more weather yet lol all seasons in one day x
@@BIGOGGIEGOLF Looking forward to them.
Love that Play everywhere. Cheers Oggie
Thank you Paul x play everywhere as long as you have fun. That’s my motto.
@@BIGOGGIEGOLF It's not a bad moto to have.

Ha ha I think that’s our next plan. Play it as it should be played, with the clubs you borrow from the course x
@@BIGOGGIEGOLF I look forward to that! St Mawgan Porth by any chance? If it's still there.

@@BIGOGGIEGOLF It was right next to the crazy golf. If that's still there too. It wont be open this time of year.
I remember my first pitch and putt. Penwith Pitch and Putt, in Hayle. Great way to start playing golf and getting into the game
I rather enjoy Penwith P and P and it’s a totally different challenge to here.
Well Oggie your still putting when you should chip, but on the good side your putting is getting better 👍⛳️
Well I think I am still not accurate or indeed positive enough with a chip around the greens and it’s still very much an experiment x but will
Improve I am sure lol
I'm afraid when he gets used to the new putter he will be unbeatable on the greens. His putting was good before with the Scotty Cameron
Well done big o and badger what a lovely course the views remind me of the goonies film just needs the pirate ship sailing past those islands 🏝 😀

@@BIGOGGIEGOLF lol big o hope not that's one scary film lol 😆 🤣 😅
There is a pub called 'Smugglers Inn' about 2 miles away, so you're right about that....
I know i said this before John but you definitely hit that new putter better
I find it more steady in my hand my friend. Better for a more rhythmic swing of the putter
He will be a demon on the greens with it soon Julian.

I consider myself a high handicapper as well but I don’t go round telling everyone. After the first hole they can tell. 🥴👍🇨🇦👨🦳
