  • Front Rider's Perspective on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, USA.
    Length: 2780'
    Inversions: 0
    Speed: 36 mph
    Elements: Lift Hill, Lift Hill, Lift Hill
    Dash in and out of desert caverns and rumble through a haunted mine aboard a speeding train.
    Amid rugged bedrock and desert cactus, venture inside a nearly 200-foot mountain to the Big Thunder Mining Company, established in the early days of America’s Gold Rush. Traipse down into an abandoned mine shaft and discover a mysterious 5-car locomotive waiting to take you on a journey inside an abandoned shaft.
    Hang Onto Your Hats!
    As you begin your journey into the darkness of the tunnel, the train’s wheels chug back and forth across a rickety track. Swoop around turns and dip and drop into canyons and caves, darting through the ghost town of Tumbleweed.
    Peel under a booming waterfall, past rock formations, and dodge a rumbling boulder from an inexplicable landslide. Along your adventure, glimpse the remnants of a flash flood and behold a bevy of local critters-including bats, opossum and a goat-before hastily making your way back to the safety of the railroad station.

    Since Disney is shut down and the world is kinda stuck at home, this would a great time for Disney to do some overhauling on some rides that have been problematic (like BTM).

    • @nadrewod999

      Disney doesn't have the money to keep their park employees paid, let alone pay for maintenance. They were already cutting corners to keep costs down WHEN THEY WERE MAKING A PROFIT, they don't have the funds to fix much more now that all of their parks are running a net loss.

      Usually that's true, but I got stuck on spaceship earth a few months back, and the castmembers were nothing but practical. I personally appreciated that alot, they told us straight up that the ride was old and there are tons of sensors that randomly go off and stop the ride. I will say though that we were stuck for over an hour and it took about 30 minutes to evacuate as we were near the top and their was a handicapped person below us.

    • @videolover2014
      @videolover2014 3 года назад +1

      The reason why no recording is even said is due to Copyright Infringement.
      I mean, I'd do some On-Ride Videos for the On-Ride Experience & stuff for Example, but if they can't allow Camcorders on the Rides due to Copyright Infringement, then I'd rather respect it, as I surely don't want my RUclips Account to get terminated for part of it & having all my Videos saying for Example "This video is no longer available because the RUclips account associated with this video has been terminated." or "The RUclips account associated with this video has been terminated due to multiple third-party notifications of copyright infringement.".
      Heck, some Videos I currently have on my Channel (Even though some of them are unlisted or private...) can't be re-uploaded & if my RUclips Channel got terminated or if I decide to close my RUclips Channel, then those Videos that can't be re-uploaded will be automatically permanently gone, which will make me very sad, as to let you know that losing things happens to be my biggest fear & it has been since I accidentally erased all of the Computer Data, while I was on the Desktop Computer trying to fix the Webcam, as that was a huge fail for me back then, which took place back on Friday, 8/20/2010.

    • @UrSammich
      @UrSammich 4 года назад +4

      @@joebates3272 Exactly what everyone else is saying. While it is cool to see the "behind the magic" of what makes the ride work, at the same time they still have to keep the illusion going. Also thinking about it now, by showing the behind the scene areas, this could lead to people jumping off the ride and exploring parts and areas they aren't supposed to, something that has happened in the past with numerous situations.
      I personally have only seen the backside of Disney once and that was with Disneyland going behind Toon Town to the studio recording area on the property. Those that are apart of their band or chorus in school got a chance to go on a field trip to the park as well as experience the educational benefits of what it's like recording and making music for the company. So what I ended up seeing was certain buildings, but mostly storage buildings as I recall a animatronic who was bare with nothing on it, a broken down tea cup off to the side and that was mostly it. One of the parents found a piece of paper from the fireworks laying on the floor. Not sure what he did with it, but we learned they probably operated the fireworks from the back area. Again, that's all I remember and pretty sure I didn't see much else. The only thing unique is how they can hide the other buildings/show buildings without having the magic destroyed.

      On September 5, 2003, a 22-year-old man died after suffering severe blunt force trauma and extensive internal bleeding in a derailment of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster that also injured ten other riders.[40] The cause of the accident was determined to be improper maintenance.[41] Investigation reports and discovery by the victim's attorney confirmed the fatal injuries occurred when the first passenger car collided with the underside of the locomotive. The derailment was the result of a mechanical failure which occurred due to omissions during a maintenance procedure. Fasteners on the left side upstop/guide wheel on the floating axle of the locomotive were not tightened and safetied in accordance with specifications. As the train entered a tunnel, the axle came loose and jammed against a brake section, causing the locomotive to become airborne and hit the ceiling of the tunnel. The locomotive then fell on top of the first passenger car, crushing the victim.[42] Some people blamed the new cost-conscious maintenance culture brought in by Paul Pressler and consultants McKinsey & Company in 1997, which included Reliability-centered maintenance.[43]

      It could have been that someone hyperventilated because they got scared or someone who is claustrophobic. They need to ask that in case someone needs help. Or maybe an elderly or ill person who may have an heart attack or something. It all could have happened.

      They didn't tell us what the issue was, but it was down the rest of the night. It did open the next day though. I agree though, some more transparency on the issue and how long it will take would be helpful.

    • @Imagicings
      @Imagicings 4 года назад +3

      @@sharpproductions typically, when a coaster breaks down that late in the day, parks will shut down the ride. It will get too dark to work on any issues and isn't worth bringing in exterior lighting. Many times the issue can be quickly fixed - as with the ride being open the next day. It likely would've required a full walk of the track and perhaps a change out of sensors placed along the track to fix the breakdown. A slightly more serious issue would be with one of the trains having a malfunction. Since it is Disney though, if a larger problem was to blame, they could have very well spent the entire evening - after park closing - to fix the ride and have it ready the following morning. Transparency can be a bit tricky for the GP. Give too much information and they don't trust the safety of the rides. Give too little and they seem like they are hiding things. Parks can never really satisfy and so they give generalized statements concerning most issues.

    The train stopping on a coaster is the coaster working as it should. It does not mean it's broken down.

      Ty McClelland well it did break down though. And yes you are correct. Block sections. When I was on Expedition Everest, the train before us didn’t complete its block in time so we waited for about a minute in the projected yeti room.

      Something happened to cause the train in front of them to stop, so something did break down to cause their train to stop as a safety precaution. A click-baity title would be "WE ALMOST DIED ON BIG THUNDER MOUNTAIN!" or "OUR TRAIN ALMOST WENT OFF THE RAILS?!!!! *EMOTIONAL*" So not only are you wrong about what happened in the video, you are also incorrect about your definition of clickbait.
