- Danio margaritatus, also commonly called the Galaxy Rasbora, shook up the aquarium world when they were discovered in 2006.Meanwhile it is one of the most popular Nano Fish in the hobby. In this little video i will tall you about my experience keeping and breeding them.

I love my CPD, they're in a heavily planted 10 gallon much like yours and they NEVER hide. They're such a handsome fish and their behavior is so lively and appealing.
I have a very heavily planted 40b with CPDs, Emerald Rasboras, and Sparkling Gouramis. I also tap gently on the glass for feeding time and they all come swimming out from the plants to the front of the tank! 😊
I enjoyed seeing the shrimp fighting for the food with the fish.
Just starting to breed mine, love these little fish.
I remember when these beautiful fish first came in the hobby. They became popular so quickly! Thanks for the video, Chris! 🤘
I have a group of 9 adult dwarf emerald danios, CPDs' cousins also from Lake Inle. Care is similar, and I have them in a 20L. They hang out mostly on the bottom and are shy, but I recently added guppies to liven up the tank. Also, my 9 has turned into 20+ of various ages - love it! The oldest is about half grown and already coloring up nicely! Guppies will help ensure I don't get too many more.
Thanks. Now I want new fish. 😓 great video👍🏻
Awesome, nice to see you on RUclips, always amazed by the quality of your pictures!
New subscriber ~ So excited to find your channel! I really appreciate your style and quality of presentation. It is so relaxing to watch and learn about these little gems! Just set up my tank and getting it cycled. Trying the dark start method,
. Fish will be next - you are the best! Thank you for not screaming at people when you teach about these fish. 🥰
Love my cpds! They eat right out of my hands! Just set up a spare tank to try my hand at breeding them I want more!!! 😍 Great video and quality!!
Great video, subscribed! Cory from Aquarium Co-OP introduced me to your channel 👍🏻
Nice footage. Clearly healthy and happy.
A-Mazing Video quality. I watched your Danio Erythromicron Vid and Had to have them; I now have 16 Emerald Dwarf Rasbora. :) Please consider the Glowlight Danio (Danio Choprae) for your next species spotlight; Super colorful & fun little fish!
Awesome looking fish great content
They are such gorgeous little fish.
👍💓👍
Love CPDs! Mine have never been shy and will even eat directly from my hand. I think it's because I keep them with my juvenile Guppies, shrimp and Otos, who are afraid of nothing. If a baby fish feels safe, then they feel it too.
Thanks for mentioning the moss, I did not know this and will add some soon!
So many great tips! I’ll be trying your training trick with all my fish (besides my betta who already does it himself) starting tomorrow.
Love your beautiful footage, as always!
Cool video! I have 9 cpd’s in my 9 gallon flex and have had them for 5 months and that tapping on the glass before feeding works so well! I almost didn’t get them because I kept reading about how shy they are! My cardinal tetras in my other tank are way shyer haha thanks for all the info!
Beautiful footage and fish! Love the shrimp, too, that green one towards the end with a white stripe was a coloration I haven't seen before. I also have CPDs and I LOVE them. I have a 29 gallon tank that's heavily planted (flame and Christmas moss, sword plants, and a jungle of cambomba), with ember tetras, CPDs, and gold laser corys. Like yours, my nano fish are not shy (I think having a heavily planted tank really helps them feel braver). I have produced exactly 1 baby CPD out of it, lol. Only 1 but he's a feisty one. I call him Fry Guy and he thinks he's the biggest fish but he's actually the smallest, lol. Also live with Inca snails and a lot of neo shrimp like you show there. It's a great tank, so much fun to watch. Thanks for sharing your beautiful tank!
Hands down my favorite fish
Very nice video, I subbed and turned on notifications!
They are my top favourite ❤️❤️❤️I love this fish for cuteness.❤️
Fantastic content as always
CPD's are so cool!!!
Mini salmons! Great video as always
Great vid!
I have 6 CPDs and want to get at least 6 more. I love their pattern!
One of my favorite fish besides neon tetras and chili rasboras
Great video.
Nice video 👏🏻🔥
So nice fish.🎶🎵Pease post a video clip like this again, I'll wait.⚘
I have noticed that some strains of CPD have fully separate spots and others have connecting spots. I wonder if its due to a certain way of breeding...
I've always 'trained' my fish to respond to 3 taps on the glass b-4 feeding. It works. Just be consistent. It's like the Pavlov's dog experiment. Ring the bell and watch them drool.
Sweet dingwall bro
Thank you for the tips!
I just teach mine to come out when I am knocking on the glass and feed them. But they’re still shy, and go hiding when I make sudden move.
Thank you
I have only seen them colored up in pictures, even adults. What is the secret to color?
the food and second the hiding places...
my celestial pearl spawning tank is only 5 gallons, my fry tank is 5 gallons and my grow out tank is 5 gallons, and i get close to a hundred fish per month.
I love them so much I built a shrimp tank just for them heavy plants
1:41 does that shrimp have Scutariella Japonica? Look like the white spots on its head might be
nice bro! keep up..
Do u treat that tank lie a shrimp tank and focus heavily on the tds and adding minerals cause I use aged water for my tank and havnt had a lot of luck keeping shrimp cpds are fine
Hi Chris, thanks for the info! What sphere food are you feeding your CPDs in this video? They seem to love it!
Side note, if you change the title of this video the include "Celestial Pearl Danio", I'm sure you'll get more views!
hey chris! i see you also have some boraras in the footage, do they do well on this ph? been wanting to get some but my ph is 7.4
I love CPDs. I am having a hard time finding more of these in South Florida. I got 6 of them and need more.
Neighborhood fish farm has some tiny ones.
@@fishingaddicts4739 I was there about 2 Weeks ago and they were sold out. Definitely going this week. I need to get me some males! Thanks for the tip!
@@fishingaddicts4739 just wanted to say thanks again for the tip, I got 6 CPDs at the Neighborhood fish farm.
Hi Chris, can you give some details on the tank setup please? Plants seem to thrive - what equipment are you using? Lights, filtering, all other bits
What kind of moss is that? Christmas?
How many do you keep in a 10 gallon? I have a group of 6 in mine but would like to bump their numbers up. I keep them with cherry shrimp as well.
Will they survive on osmose ro water
Don't forget to Rock-n-Roll. ;)
Hello sir, could i ask you a question that how many of this fish fit on a 36p tank, thank you very much
Are these Enteromius jae swimming with the Danios
no,those are Boraras naevus
Do you have any problem with their relations with shrimps. Do they ever fight or kill the shrimps. I would be glad if you answer.
no,i have never seen them attacking the shrimp..even babies survive
Cory sent me
Cory is a great guy..;-) he always sends me people
Hi! what’s the food that was given to your cod around the 3 min mark?
buen video gracias .. en lo personal no me gusta ese pez tiene un nado muy nervioso me gusta un pez que tenga movimientos más lentos como betta o ramirezzi.
👍
🙏😎
Upload a new video soon
I bought 6 of them and in less than one week , all of them are dead already
This messing around with names is getting ridiculous. If this is a Danio, then let's call it a Danio. If it's a Rasbora, call it a Rasbora.
that is true and thats why i always use latin names..but most people dont. i would not even use common names if it was after me..
@@chrislukhaup Except you can't trust scientific names to stay the same either. Apart from what happened to the Rasbora genus, I've seen a number of genera dismantled and reassembled just among killifish (my specialist interest). Rivulus, Aphanius, Aplocheilichthys, Cynolebias... they've all been taken apart over the last 15 years or so. Often all it takes is one paper to be published without ratification from any central body and everything you thought you knew is wrong.
@@jameswarner5809 yes, in know...i described several species myself but in my view it is the only way to go.
Very nice and original informations!
Do u know if I can put them with rasbora espei?
should not be a problem
