My problem with the sims 4 is the lack of story progression. In the sims 3, sims in the town would have children, get married, break up, turn into vampires, get robbed, etc. all on their own. In the sims 4, if you play with the same sim for a long time, Everyone in the town just dies. It makes the game incredibly boring.

Legit wish TS4 sims would
a. Sit down and eat without moving chairs/standing up every 3 seconds
b. Be able to be on a lot without having the unavoidable urge to talk to every single sim there
c. Complete simple tasks (showering, eating, etc) without it taking 2 in-game hours
d. *Have actual personality*

I HATE the “monster under the bed” thing because it happens EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT. And then the kid has to wake up EVERY. SINGLE. FAMILY MEMBER. So now I’ve got four Sims that are up at 3:30 am and half rested and none of them are even doing anything about the monster. Literally the worst thing in the game.
and you MAKE them do SOMETHING, and they just STAND THERE. it’s SO annoying & that’s why i don’t play ts4 anymore. sims 3 forever srsly

I need drama in the sims. You can cheat on your husband in front of them and all they do is get mad and then what???? I need jealousy! GREED! VIOLENCE! I want my sims to be on some degrassi level drama without mods and for these things to be autonomous. I want the chaos to occur naturally. It’s boring having to do every step of the drama just for your sims to back track. You make your sim beat somebody up and they start kekeing like they homies the second you blink.
I have slice of life. Not sure if that was part of this but my sims got cheated on. I made him watch to intervene and break up. And he deadass got so angry he died from anger. I feel like there is no fun drama. It’s either boring or way over the top like that. Same with Tiny Living. Yay a new death. Great literally more deadly than any other thing in the game. Ahhmm. yeah no. That’s not fun thanks tho

I feel like another thing that should be put in a “generations” pack is the ability to make a will so you can pass down your assets to your children.
Or give everything to something else because your relationship is bad! Or maybe if the sims doesn't have any children, just give everything to the person nobody was expecting and creating family feuds over it...It would be...messy, but interesting, great idea!

The sims gave us a “hot tub” pack that was LITERALLY JUST HOT TUBS AND SWIMSUITS FOR $10 and THEN they gave us base game hot tubs WTFFFFF
I don't have that pack so I won't be complaining lmao
To be fair the free hot tub came out years later (I still think it was a dick move, but it's not as bad as if they added base game hot tub right after the pack)
I actually wanted that pack just for the hot tub so I'm glad they just gave us one and I didn't have to waste 10 dollars

It came with Get to Work alongside the baking skill if I'm not mistaken and now I'm just feeling like I wasted 80 bucks (back then an EP costed 80 bucks over here, nowadays is 160)

I saw a James Turner video where he interviews someone from the sims team and she was totally against the laundry pack and said she thought no one would want it. Tells you a lot about how out of touch they are.
Laundry day was a great idea but they should have added being able to go and do your laundry at a laundry mat and doing laundry for money and way more stuff
@@Czena stuff packs are very very limited budget wise thouse remember this is still a company that aims for profit above all like very other company. the only things that brought us builds are dine out or spa day for example which are GAME PACKS not STUFF PACKS , stuff packs only add more stuff and 1-2 things of gameplay aka the laundry making

I was so mad that laundry pack won but I bought it so I could have more stuff to do and I honestly enjoy it a lot more cos it's literally something that should of been in the game.

If a sim gets cheated on. By their partner in sims 3 they will not want to interact with them for the next 2 or 5 days I think and the relationship goes wayyyy down

Ea is known for being a cash grab company, they did it with each sports game to the point that players rant online about it. I bought one and ranted for my boyfriend lol. Anything that touches console gets milked. Ea won’t stop unless we stop buying the extras and youtubers (game changers) keep kissing their ass as well. Except this one. Given the history, the game can be better but ea only wants the cheapest and quickest way to make money. At least mods and cc are alive and well.

I bought fitness stuff just to get a couple more black hairstyles 😩. It came with 2 loc hairstyles. Never again though. I promised myself I’d never pay to get hairstyles they should already have for black sims. CC only now! (Thank goodness for the cc creators).

I miss when memories were a thing and every first kiss or heart break would be saved in the sims history. Or the little cut scenes in TS2 for first kisses, proposals, and weddings. I miss my sims being able to cuddle in bed. sigh
It shouldn't be a dating pack...it should be a relationships pack, like of all kind because this are just lackluster at the moment...
it shouldn’t have to be a pack in the first place. it should just be in the damn game. i’ve been playing sims for 11 years now. i regret ever spending money on any packs in sims 4.. i’ve given chances.. we shouldn’t have to buy packs for things that should’ve been in the game. why pay money for plotline that was in sims 2,3? i’m comfortable with my sims 2 and sims 3, theres plot, there’s detail, there’s interactive experiences. idk.

We didnt get toddlers untill 2 years after the game released. A KEY LIFE STATE THAT WAS INCLUDED IN A GAME THAT CAME OUT 16 YEARS AGO(Sims 2)! Ridiculous, Ea is lazy.
It's because the Sims 4 was meant to be an online game, hince why teens were the same sims as young adults because it was added in after. The a ton of leaks on it, but they pack peddled after Sim City 2014's always online gameplay was hated. Sadly it's rumored they wanna go back to this in the Sims 5

Get Famous would’ve worked so well as an expansion pack if they’d actually EXPANDED on it and made it a whole performing arts expansion! Imagine the singing skill being used in Get Famous instead of City Living, and being able to do something other than karaoke with it! Imagine community theatre, dance club, glee club, school band, choir, talent shows! Imagine teens being able to start garage bands and rising to fame that way! Imagine your sims being asked to perform at events as they gain recognition! It could’ve been so good and added a lot of gameplay, especially with kids and teens who so desperately need it!

I was disappointed in the story too like planting the bugs on sims was the only way to figure out the lore but you needed to use 10+ bugs to get a small portion of the story from one sim. I absolutely adore the world though, especially the trailer park.
i like strangerville but yeah they could’ve done so much more. there really isn’t anything dynamic and there are no consequences AT ALL like you can just waltz into the secret base at anytime and the military is not a threat whatsoever

The problem of sims is how structured it is, previous games were MESSY and had fun with it, now the occult has this tier system and emotions??? And the traits give no personality??? This is a LIFE simulator, I feel like I’m controlling ants when I should feel like I’m playing with sims.

I think it’s important to note that the sims has always been a life simulator but not always a realistic one, when they started pushing themselves off as “realistic” that’s when things went trash, REALISTIC? The fairies, werewolves, mermaids, vampires, witches, genies, ghosts, plantsims and mummies would like to talk sis. Supernatural is fun (for me) but the sims 4 does such a bad job with them that we’d wish there wasn’t any.
I agree with everything except the occults. I think the tier system for vamps and celebrities is such a major upgrade. It's so interesting to play around with, and it makes each sim more unique. Even the quirks are great fun. Besides, the acknowledgement of a vamp sim's creater in the relationship tab is a nice plus for me. And it gives celebrity status more weight and meaning.
I only which we had gotten more supernatural sims and it was easier to cheat your way up the tiers for storyline purposes.
@@tosinakin2508 yeah there are some really good features to the tier system, I just wish part of it was more randomized and not so much us deciding, I loved back how in the old games depending on how a sim was raised their traits would be randomly selected. If the vampires worked in a way that whenever we chose a power and we got a randomized flaw instead of choosing one ourselves I think that would be great, it's nice how the powers are separated and not just one skill like the Sims 3, but I'd use it more if I wasn't completely in control of my vampire's ability

Its really the little things for me:
Sims used to be able to relax in bed and watch tv
Kids and teens could do hw together. (That might be part of one of them game packs now but I ain't paying for it)
Sims use to cuddle in bed together.
Babies use to need a changing table and could get baths in the sink. Now they're just objects.
Black sims still ashy. I shouldn't have to download mods for skintones 🙄

Honestly the split up with Late Night features is insane. It added Vampires, Apartments, Celebrities, Clubs, Hot Tubs, Butlers for 40$. The sims 4 split this into 6 different packs. Vampires (20$), City Living (40$), Get Famous (40$), Get Together (40$), Perfect Patio (10$), Vintage Glamour Stuff (10$) which altogether costs 160$ full price. Thats crazy

I have spent well over $300 on this stupid game! I am sick of these game and stuff packs. They’re embarrassing. Time and time again, us Sims 4 players give them our coin and they give us the bare minimum. All we ask for is more content (as in a variety of CAS items and Build & Buy Mode items) and gameplay. I shouldn’t have to rely on mods and custom content made by people WHO DO NOT EVEN GET PAID FOR THEIR HARD WORK, in order to enjoy the game.

With the right CC (make-up, custom sliders, hair, clothes, skins etc.) Sims 3 sims were gorgeous. I never made an ugly sim in CAS and they passed their genetics on to my born-in-games. Win-Win!

I love hearing a non simmer youtuber talk about the sims, it's so refreshing to hear someone actually yell about the sims angrily like most of the fanbase actually feels. I understand that the simmers are like, on the simscamp payroll so they have to be nice or risk being ejected and having to actually buy the packs like the rest of us, so I'm not mad at them. They gotta make their money like everyone else. But god is it nice to hear someone just YELL about the sims and say all the things we're feeling.
I've been playing the sims 3 again lately because the sims 4 is so boring. GIRL is it ugly JESUS is it ugly there's no saving how ugly it is, you're right about that. But I've found that the gameplay is worth it. Stop buying sims 4 and go back to sims 3, I'm deadass. Do you remember sims 3 world adventures? You got THREE new worlds with that one, three new open worlds EACH with their own 10-level skill you can learn (snake charming, winemaking and martial arts) TWENTY SIX tombs to crawl through puzzle platforming style, plus special hidden items you can buy from vendors and lifetime rewards you can cash in, in order to make your stay in these worlds so long you might as well be living there, like 18-20 days at a time. You can BUY vacation homes so you don't have to stay at the base camp, so your sim can have multiple whole ass houses (you can't even buy a second home in sims 4 you can only buy retail lots and "pretend" they're a vacation home if you want to) and the QUEST system for world adventures is buckwild. Sometimes they'll take you to multiple worlds just to complete them, the gameplay is so, so deep I've been drowning in it for weeks.
I just bought 'into the future' for the first time for sims 3, too, and THAT is crazy. You can travel to the future, play with all kinds of new future technology, but not only that there's a mystery to solve in the world, AND you can meet your sims descendants if you've had kids, AND you can affect the past to create three splitting timelines in the future-- standard, utopian, and dystopian, all of which come with completely different aesthetics. There's also the bot building skill which the sims 4 version is a PALE imitation of. In sims 3, bot building is a whole ass CAS!!! You can build your robot using different pieces from the feet up, you can mix and match their body parts and completely customize them. Shut up. SHUT up. And that's just TWO expansion packs, don't even get me started on University, generations, supernatural, I could go on and on. (give me my fucking werewolves sims 4 im coming for your children)

I’ve noticed with the sims 4 it’s like they’re catering to kids. Lately since I’ve been inside doing nothing I decided to go back in time and play sims 2 and sims 3. I noticed that things were more risky fun you know and now it’s like uh oh kids are playing let’s clean it up. Playing those games again make me not even want to play sims 5 if they make it. I’ll only play it if they go back to how they used to be, stop being so money hungry, and give us better skins. 3. The Roommate system (I- we had to wait til DISCOVER UNIVERSITY for it)
4. Every Moschino stuff pack item (most build mode, the clothes are tacky trash)
5. Improved dating/culture (they did a half-done version in the neighborhoods and the festivals, specifically the Romance one)
6. Literally so much more
Don't forget that Get Together should have been combined with City Living. How tf can you make a city based expansion without adding clubing, pubs etc.

Main things I miss from the other Sims:
- Open world gameplay
- Design and build your own world
- Actually good packs that adds something to the gameplay
- Sims 2 Celebrations, throwing a party or wedding in S4 is a fucking nightmare. I don't fully remember how much better this was but I remember actually enjoying the celebrations gameplay and having multiple wedding dresses

I have to say it is so refreshing to see somebody on here actually have some real opinions about ts4 instead of just kissing up to EA.
On the topic of Realm of Magic and Vampires, I actually love playing with magical elements in my game. But it was done very, very poorly in ts4. ROM might have the least substance of any pack which is sad because I love witches. They should've just released one properly done expansion pack with multiple occults and a good world like ts3 Supernatural was.

i made these storylines for my sims family and i’m having a lot of fun with it.
now, my game would be so much more fun and better looking if i had CC and mods installed but...
i play on console 😔
and i don’t go beyond reach to make my game 110% realistic. my family is boring. they have this routine they follow and they stay inside their house. and they never go out. not because it’s quarantine but i just don’t see the point in leaving my sims house.
you know it’s bad when you only buy a pack for that one counter, that one sofa, that one light god help me.

2. Infant, toddler and teen life could be SO MUCH more dynamic and that’s on period.
I only had Generations, Supernatural, University Life, and World Adventures in the Sims 3 and that was enough for me-
In the Sims 4 it seems like having every single pack, game packs/expansion packs/stuff packs, will never fully quench your needs...
SAME. I never felt the need to buy every pack with sims 3, but this one I’m buying every pack that comes, even the ones that I hate, JUST to try and get something

i mainly build though, i don’t really play as sims anymore bc the gameplay sucks. realm of magic has pretty furniture but i also have never actually played realm of magic, i’ve just built with it lmao

idk about the sims 4 but I thought the supernatural stuff in sims 3 was pretty cool (I didn't have it myself but my cousins did and we played with it a lot) so I don't agree with her saying there shouldn't be any fantasy stuff. I mean it could be boiled down to one expansion pack like in the sims 3 and not dragged out, so then if you want fantasy and supernatural stuff you can buy it and if you don't then there's no need.
@@isalovi1771 supernatural kinda stuff was actually in 2 packs if you count vampires in late night. There were also genies in showtime, plantsims in university, mermaids in island paradise, and even imaginary friends in generations and mummies in world adventures. You could disable those things or just not interact with them if you didn't want them. But I mean, I think most people liked those little fantasy things anyways. The sims franchise hardly feels like a realistic simulation game to me, but I think that's why everyone likes it so much. If sims 4 didn't have a supernatural pack people would riot 😅

The fact that eco lifestyle trailer just came out...it’s a huge disappointment-*recycled* ideas of previous packs that didn’t make the cut combined together in an useless, stuff-pack like expansion pack. Most people who are “excited” about this pack are actually excited about the ladders that we’ll probably get in a basegame, and that speaks for itself
I reached a point where I enjoy using violence, drugs, zombies and cannibalism in my sims game to make it more fun.

The one thing that I really want the sims to have - and they didn't have it in sims 3 or sims 4, is the characters that you are not playing to create drama too. I want my sims to be approached, I want to be able to say yes or no to a kiss from a stranger or from a date, I want action on their side, because whenever I play the game and try to date someone who is not my sim I'm doing all the work -- it feels so weird. We had the secret admirers over text but it was like only once and for celebrities - why can't we get that in highschool - highschool crushes? getting a note in a locker? consistent secret admirers? -- they could come to my sims house.. that would be awesome, also again I miss the robbers. They made this game for children, literal kids, that's why its so PG, but the only people I know who plays sims are like 16-25 ALSO im REALLY FUCKING MAD the adventure/vacation pack in sims 3 had THREE WORLDS!! THREE - Egypt, China, France.. we got the jungle where the only thing you can do is dig dirt
ALSO.. I know that's unrealistic butt.... I would really want to be able to go to school with kids, like sit in a classroom get detention make mischief ALL the highschool stuff... skipping class would be fun but only with an open world - like go to one class but then skip the other and then come back.. ALSO I want to be able to go to a boarding school with them... that would be THE COOLEST. THING. EVER
Also all the elements that they stripped for being non-PG were in the games that current players played when they were actual children which just magnifies how strange it is.
You can't even get married in Selvadorada, I brought my sims there with their families and found out that I can't even have a destination wedding ... THE NERVE

yes pleaaaase. For a game that touts diversity the dark skinned people are all ashy and their hairs are awful looking. I had to search for food skin tones and found amazing hairs. Braids and pretty afros.

especially base game. i’ve stopped playing sims for over a year now but before i bought any packs the game was just so shit that i relied on mods and even that couldn’t fix it for me

What's the point of cars tho. The world isn't open and the neighborhoods or whatever are tiny. What difference would cars make?

@@pasteldreams5413 sims 2 had them. Sims 1 had them. None of them were open worlds. The reason why ppl like cars is because of the realism and the immersion it brings: the sight of seeing your sims ride a vehicle is a lot better sight than seeing them simply disappear into the void.

the only expansion packs I have is get together, city living, get famous and get to work, and literally the ONLY reason I got any of those packs is to play around with certain mods that require them by mod creators. If the only reason I will buy your pack is to play with certain mods by mod CREATORS that add gameplay that should’ve already been added to the game, then we have a problem.
I feel that, some of the last few game packs I have bought are because they are required/recommended for the Not So Berry Challenge like Spa Day and the camping one over the packs I was somewhat interested in getting.
This was literally me for so long, and that is really distressing.
