Wow, great video. Really helpful the way you break it down. Just couldn’t beat her on standard “give me balance” but after watching this through twice I beat her on “give me grace” level. As a 61 year old grandad my reaction speed isn’t what it was! No going to try give me balance again. Thanks Ox.
I just beat her today and took me 2 & half hours in normal difficulty. But if I had seen you video then I would have done it earlier. You did it in give me no mercy, hats off to you!
Thanks yeah this was my first playthrough at the time for Give Me No Mercy. I ended up beating this again on Give Me God of War when NG+ Dropped. I have guides for NG+ as well.
Loved this video. Really in-depth and a lot of handy hints. I’ll most likely watch this a few times over so it all sinks in and I’ll let you know how the fight goes when I get to it.
One thing I noticed about her red-circle forward-dash poke vs forward-dash wing-clip attack is: she always dashes to the left or right before thrusting forward. If she dashed to left, she is going to follow up with a wing clip attack, and you can press L1 and block that. If she dashed to the right, it is going to be the unblockable thrust attack, so you should double tab evade to roll right. Don't know if this is a 100% thing, but then again, nothing is in this fight.
This is the best comment. I thought it was a 50/50 but in reality I think avb is right. It makes the fight much easier. I beat her on hard. The video explains well that the fight has a lot of rng built in. Its a brutal one. Fit for the hardest challenge in the game. Again good video, and excellent comment.

Thank you so much for this. I finally beat her utilizing a ton of your tips. Honestly, when I got through this, I didn't feel I had done much differently or better than many of my failed attempts. The random patterns simply lined up better. For example, on my successful attempt, whenever she began to initiate her AOE attack, I just happened to either be close enough to double tap shield or far away enough to dodge roll out of trouble. I lost count of how many attempts ended quickly over things like that. Thanks, again. Really solid guide.

Basically, this fight for me was either brutal strength or tactics full of patience .(Like 110% patience) I went with Besreker set , all maxed out except the chest armour and in relic I used the hilt of skofnung (which you get after defeating the Berserker king) . It came handy with the berserker armour which replenishes the relic very quickly. Then I used maxed heavy runic attacks in all 3 weapons which you get at the Raven tree . Wrath of the frost ancient on axe and mountain splitter on spear. I used them at the right time by using Freya’s poison clouds which made Gna loose 1 level. Took 8 out of 10 health bars like this and died. Used rage stone and took 1 bar by fury and sonic arrows to stagger her. Then quickly used wrath of the frost ancient and WALLAH !!!!! SHE WAS DEFEATED ! Took me 5 attempts to do it.

I've mostly learned all of her patterns, now I just need practice, but I've been pulling my hair in frustration because I couldn't find a way to dodge those blasted lateral bifrost feathers. I thought they were unblockable, but it turns out I've confused them with the vertical ones. I'll try again, thanks again for the help !
Hi 👍 Yes there are two types and what I learned to do is have my shield up and just be ready for that red ring dodge. It's definitely a hyper focused fight. Thanks for sharing your progress!

Great guides! I studied your guide for the king and I beat him in a reasonable number of tries. All I need to do now is beat Gńa and I have the platinum.
If you walk straight at her she will back up against the wall and you can just slam her with everything you got, she is basically pinned there if you get the runics out fast enough... Sometimes she slips out but if you manage to get all 6 runics and the relic while she is pinned, it really kicks the fight off right...
@@oxfordking Probably cuz you stopped too early, walk right at her like you're just gonna walk right through her, she will say "Good" and then step back, as soon as she steps back she is on the wall and you just unleash the runics.

@@oxfordking Maybe because you played on hard difficulty... I wouldnt expect that to be a thing that changes, but yeah I did it consistently for a few hours until I had it perfected. Its super important to get her as low as possible before you have to use your resurrection stone... I think she is significantly harder then Sigrun was and It was work to firgure out Sigrun too.

Thanks for the video! I was prepared to spend hours trying to beat her, but I managed to beat her on my second try! I used a tanky defence build with the Steinbjörn chest armor and Surtr waist/bracers.
Appreciate the video. It was like watching Madden break down football tape but sadly this lady still has my number. You did help alot though...I know more than I did before but with her it's kinda like you said how it took you hours, practice, and a little luck to finish her off.
I actually smoked her 90% with the blades... I opened up with a quick attack where I dump all the runics for all 3 weapons and the hilt of skofnung relic attacks all consecutively while she is pinned against the wall, this crushes close to 3 of her health bars right at the start of the game, then from there I run out the rest of the fight with blades so i'm not usually too close to her... Fighting her up close and personal is brutal...
Yeah I had the 3 Chakram Hilt for the longest time and still may even go back to that when I face her again in Give me God of War. The Cooldown on that one is waaaaay smaller than the Blades.
The non-roll "evade" always worked for me with the "emblem of elusion" for the boost. Otherwise yea it was like 50 50. Either way she's a PITA. Took me probably 10 hours of trying. And the it would have taken longer if I didn't have half her moves committed to memory from GoW 2018 lol!!
I was either strength or luck build at first. it took me days and never killed King Hrolf. Until I used defense build by pressing L3 in the option menu. And then wow I managed to kill King Hrolf after 3 times after using the defense build and within an hour against Gna. I used Steinbjorn armor coupled with others as along as defense is 500+ . Also for Freya I used sigil arrows instead of the green arrows and it kinda stuns Gna more often. Use the spear by default and used your tactics (not too far not too close) and waited for blue circles to use the runic attacks x3
The Bifrost that you got later is not from the 4 ball element attack, it's from the King himself, when he is on low health he gets a Bifrost aura and you get Bifrost anytime you're near.
This boss fight is not hard but it’s her moves set that keep killing me. Every time I dodge the wing charge she somehow still hits me. I’m slowly giving up. She backs away, she interrupts your attacks no matter what you do to her. You can’t block or parry anything. I changed my build countless times to see if I can beat her but nothing works.
Man I said those exact words on stream - This Boss fight is not hard, its the window of which she clips you, almost cheap - but yeah I switched up to Real Shift with the Gauntlets and Waist - it seemed to help more than I thought. I hope you persevere. That Win will be Sweet af.
her moveset is cheap. everytime i get grabbed, buffs and any kind of timers are reset by the time the anaimation ends. some attacks's hit boxes are decievably big. and i could swear she has health equevelant to 3 bosses. lots of cheap stuff. if you really want to beat her and "prove your valor", memorise her move set and persevere.
@@oxfordking i just beat her. You're right that W tasted so so sweat. Watching your vid changed my mind set so thanks. I was pretty aggressive. Realm tear pommels on blades and axe + 2 perks that increase meter gained + 9 realms + realm tear relic. THERE IS NO ESCAPING MY VENGEANCE GNA!
Lmao I'm only 8 minutes in but I used that rotation on gmgow to take her out within a dozen attempts. It was only like my third attempt with this strategy. The Valor str buff, the bifrost storm, the seidr cast and detonator's might helped a lot and were some of the few things I didn't already have equipped tho.

I’ve been stuck on Gna for almost a week. Today I got her down to one bar & she just start going crazy on me. Can’t dodge get everything is unblockable
1 bar is huge progress. Only thing I can recommend is pay attention to her movements and memorize those audio queues. I hope the guide is somewhat helpful.
I spent ours playing this last night trying to learn her pattern. The most frustrating thing is she somehow overpowers my runic attacks as they happen and im left vulnerable.

@@Equint77 Another tip for you is stick with your favorite weapon with Gna and run with it. Sometimes fiddling with different weapons can be detrimental.

TIP: if she dashes to the right and does that gut punch, evade to the right and you won't get hit. if she dashes to your left and does her wing hits, just block. PSA: after her wing hits she may string it into a gut punch so just evade to the right and you'll be fine.
I use the Onslaught shield against her and certain Berserkers since they seem to have double blue circle attacks. Aside from that, when she does the "For Asgard" flying attack, I get caught every time. I've dodged and I still can't seem to escape that attack
My recommendation on the "For Asgard" bit is just be ready for that move every time she's at a distance. I have your thumb ready to go on Circle and once she does, just have in your mind that she'll do this 3 times consecutively. Sometimes, she'll just one or two but most is Three. Also, Below 50% health, she'll switch it up to the BiFrost version of "For Asgard" for those I count to 3 in my head then dodge.
The only thing I'm having problems with is the purple feathers she throws at you for some reason I'm having a hard time dodging. I'm double tapping dodge too but they always seem to hit me, everything else I've got figured out. I'm in GMGOW though so maybe the window is much smaller idk. Any help would be appreciated.
I have the same problem but after watching this video, she throws straightish features that need to be dodge, but the curved ball feathers need to be block..I can never evade them
Only thing I can't "download" is the two jump offscreen attacks - one is instant and the other gives a nice delay and bifrost circles to delay your dodge How do you distinguish the two before it's too late and she slams down on you? If you wait to see if it's the bifrost version it's too late if it isn't..
Yup I go over this exact challenge in the video - the quick one happens with full health - at 50% and lower she moves over to the slower one (delayed) with bifrost. Count to 3 and move. Hope that helps.
@@Slapsta72 Yup, as soon as you hear "For Asgard!" Dip right (or left) but get in the habit of dodging Right. Its an Audio Queue you have to practice. She almost always does 3 in a row but in my video she only did 1 or 2 instead of all 3. This fight required patience and Mid Range.
Amazing. Idk if I missed it, but what about the poison and ice chakra rings she floats around herself? How do I get rid of that quickly? Seems like when I try to hit them she’ll 1 hit me or if I block/ evade her I get hit by those poison ice rings
I just discovered this boss last night going to finish some side quests and build up my armor and weapon abilities. But I noticed for some reason her health bar was all red for me does that serve any significance. This guide is amazing and will for sure be using it when I go back.
So the funny thing is I stumbled across this Boss by accident in the stream - I had no idea this was even a thing - this is the first I've heard of her Health Bar being all Red. Did you engage the fight to see if the Red changed? And thank you for the compliment on the guide - It's my first attempt at a Boss Guide. I'm going back to do the Berskerker Guides as well hoping they gain some traction (longevity). Especially when/if this eventually hits the PC.
@@oxfordking yeah I tried a few times and I was not ready stat wise I still need to level up some of my weapons and relic abilities. This is definitely hardest fights of the game thus far.

Dude this boss wasn't has hard but close too due to both the speed and unpredictability like Maliketh, The Black Blade in Elden Ring. All she had was Red Circles almost and if she wasn't so fast I could take her down but like the Berserks I can't hit her plus totally agree she knocks the shit out of you in the first 3 seconds if you run towards her. And you're echoing everything what I think/say when I battle her and at 24:50 notice how you break her shield and hitting her she isn't taking that much damage. God does that piss me off especially when you're so damn close to killing her.
Yeah over 50% health she does 3 in a row - count in your head 1 Second then DODGE! again and again for the other 2 - Its fast, you just have to get that timing down. Now below 50% health she does a delayed For Asgard - for this one count to 3 - 1, 2, 3 DODGE! This helped me out. Its a timing thing.
All I can say is do 1-3 Hits then back off immediately, stay within a mid range distance and prepare to parry/dodge her next move. Repeat (I prefer dodging usually since most of her "Yellow circle" attacks are complete baits...They will stagger and shield break you hard if you block them) Choose high stagger and quick casting Light and Heavy Runic skills as options...coz animation lock is a b1tch/Double edge sword. And Listen to her audio cues, like "For Asgard 3x, Rise! rise" to know exactly what she will do next.
@@oxfordking yea but I finally beat her I leveled up to Max got my weapons to Max and killed the berserker king to get the hilt now I have the platinum trophy
Pay attention to the colors of the projectiles. The blockable ones are more colorful. LOL. Also, make sure you can see her perfectly by using camera lock (R3). The combination of unblockable and blockable projectiles (left and right) was the most difficult for me. Wait a little bit before dodging to make sure there's a red circle, because dodging blockable projectiles could kill you. LOL.
This "fight" is complete, total, BS! This "fight" is one, giant, cheapshot-fest. Land a few lucky dodges, and blocks. Do your runic attacks, realm shift, rage mode. Do barely any damage. I've never played a more cheap boss than Gna. I'm a Soulsbourne gamer and this is by far more frustrating than those games. The most unbalanced and you can barely land a few conventional hits in. Doesn't help that Kratos is slow and clunky.

her moveset is cheap. everytime i get grabbed, buffs and any kind of timers are reset by the time the anaimation ends. some attacks's hit boxes are decievably big. and i could swear she has health equevelant to 3 bosses. lots of cheap stuff.
if you really want to beat her and "prove your valor", memorise her move set and persevere.

I was pretty aggressive. Realm tear pommels on blades and axe + 2 perks that increase meter gained + 9 realms + realm tear relic.

Lmao I'm only 8 minutes in but I used that rotation on gmgow to take her out within a dozen attempts. It was only like my third attempt with this strategy. The Valor str buff, the bifrost storm, the seidr cast and detonator's might helped a lot and were some of the few things I didn't already have equipped tho.
I'm probably going to get my ass handed to me on my 2nd Character. This video guide was set to Give Me No Mercy. My 2nd Playthrough is set to Give Me God of War 🤦♀️

I’ve been stuck on Gna for almost a week. Today I got her down to one bar & she just start going crazy on me. Can’t dodge get everything is unblockable
1 bar is huge progress. Only thing I can recommend is pay attention to her movements and memorize those audio queues. I hope the guide is somewhat helpful.
I spent ours playing this last night trying to learn her pattern. The most frustrating thing is she somehow overpowers my runic attacks as they happen and im left vulnerable.
So I felt later on that doing runics ended up killing me. I just did them at the start.

@@Equint77 Another tip for you is stick with your favorite weapon with Gna and run with it. Sometimes fiddling with different weapons can be detrimental.

TIP: if she dashes to the right and does that gut punch, evade to the right and you won't get hit. if she dashes to your left and does her wing hits, just block. PSA: after her wing hits she may string it into a gut punch so just evade to the right and you'll be fine.

I use the Onslaught shield against her and certain Berserkers since they seem to have double blue circle attacks. Aside from that, when she does the "For Asgard" flying attack, I get caught every time. I've dodged and I still can't seem to escape that attack
My recommendation on the "For Asgard" bit is just be ready for that move every time she's at a distance. I have your thumb ready to go on Circle and once she does, just have in your mind that she'll do this 3 times consecutively. Sometimes, she'll just one or two but most is Three. Also, Below 50% health, she'll switch it up to the BiFrost version of "For Asgard" for those I count to 3 in my head then dodge.
The only thing I'm having problems with is the purple feathers she throws at you for some reason I'm having a hard time dodging. I'm double tapping dodge too but they always seem to hit me, everything else I've got figured out. I'm in GMGOW though so maybe the window is much smaller idk. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem but after watching this video, she throws straightish features that need to be dodge, but the curved ball feathers need to be block..I can never evade them
Only thing I can't "download" is the two jump offscreen attacks - one is instant and the other gives a nice delay and bifrost circles to delay your dodge
How do you distinguish the two before it's too late and she slams down on you? If you wait to see if it's the bifrost version it's too late if it isn't..
Yup I go over this exact challenge in the video - the quick one happens with full health - at 50% and lower she moves over to the slower one (delayed) with bifrost. Count to 3 and move. Hope that helps.

@@Slapsta72 Yup, as soon as you hear "For Asgard!" Dip right (or left) but get in the habit of dodging Right. Its an Audio Queue you have to practice. She almost always does 3 in a row but in my video she only did 1 or 2 instead of all 3. This fight required patience and Mid Range.

Amazing. Idk if I missed it, but what about the poison and ice chakra rings she floats around herself? How do I get rid of that quickly? Seems like when I try to hit them she’ll 1 hit me or if I block/ evade her I get hit by those poison ice rings

I was struggling with this boss so much for about an hour then I turned on some music and I literally perfected the boss

I just discovered this boss last night going to finish some side quests and build up my armor and weapon abilities. But I noticed for some reason her health bar was all red for me does that serve any significance. This guide is amazing and will for sure be using it when I go back.
So the funny thing is I stumbled across this Boss by accident in the stream - I had no idea this was even a thing - this is the first I've heard of her Health Bar being all Red. Did you engage the fight to see if the Red changed? And thank you for the compliment on the guide - It's my first attempt at a Boss Guide. I'm going back to do the Berskerker Guides as well hoping they gain some traction (longevity). Especially when/if this eventually hits the PC.
It means her levels much higher than yours.i think purple bar is 1 level or 2 and red is more etc.
@@oxfordking yeah I tried a few times and I was not ready stat wise I still need to level up some of my weapons and relic abilities. This is definitely hardest fights of the game thus far.

Dude this boss wasn't has hard but close too due to both the speed and unpredictability like Maliketh, The Black Blade in Elden Ring. All she had was Red Circles almost and if she wasn't so fast I could take her down but like the Berserks I can't hit her plus totally agree she knocks the shit out of you in the first 3 seconds if you run towards her. And you're echoing everything what I think/say when I battle her and at 24:50 notice how you break her shield and hitting her she isn't taking that much damage. God does that piss me off especially when you're so damn close to killing her.
Yeah that last part of her health... same with Sigrun as well. It's like the last bit of health is actually an entire Full Health Bar all over again.

Yeah over 50% health she does 3 in a row - count in your head 1 Second then DODGE! again and again for the other 2 - Its fast, you just have to get that timing down. Now below 50% health she does a delayed For Asgard - for this one count to 3 - 1, 2, 3 DODGE! This helped me out. Its a timing thing.
She really tough I see that alot videos that when they are fighting GNA and King hrolf they attacking with more heavy hits and how they do that
They have Gear on that triggers abilities that hit harder.

Yo I have dies to this boss 67 times because at the end she does an unblock able move and when I doge she still hits me what should I do?
Is it the Red Circle Stab move?
All I can say is do 1-3 Hits then back off immediately, stay within a mid range distance and prepare to parry/dodge her next move. Repeat
(I prefer dodging usually since most of her "Yellow circle" attacks are complete baits...They will stagger and shield break you hard if you block them)
Choose high stagger and quick casting Light and Heavy Runic skills as options...coz animation lock is a b1tch/Double edge sword.
And Listen to her audio cues, like "For Asgard 3x, Rise! rise" to know exactly what she will do next.

Pay attention to the colors of the projectiles. The blockable ones are more colorful. LOL. Also, make sure you can see her perfectly by using camera lock (R3). The combination of unblockable and blockable projectiles (left and right) was the most difficult for me. Wait a little bit before dodging to make sure there's a red circle, because dodging blockable projectiles could kill you. LOL.

This "fight" is complete, total, BS! This "fight" is one, giant, cheapshot-fest. Land a few lucky dodges, and blocks. Do your runic attacks, realm shift, rage mode. Do barely any damage. I've never played a more cheap boss than Gna. I'm a Soulsbourne gamer and this is by far more frustrating than those games. The most unbalanced and you can barely land a few conventional hits in. Doesn't help that Kratos is slow and clunky.
