Can I just say, as someone who played this game late due to family and work just being too busy, your videos helped me out tremendously. Also, not giving spoilers away is extremely hard to find. Thanks a lot.
Hey thanks! Glad to hear you've found my content helpful 😁 I definitely know what it's like to have limited time to play, so I'm glad to hear my videos have helped you out!
Late to the party as well on GoW:R and I find this video very helpful. I don't really mind progressing slow on the story or game itself as long as I can fight in style lol
It is also worth it to use the rond of purification to throw the status effect on you onto your enemies and that includes bifrost. It was my favorite because you don’t always need to be hit by bifrost to have it cling to you so it is easier to get rid of than waiting
Dude... I've platinumed, 100% the game on normal difficulty and am now half-way through my GMGOW playthrough.... And just like the advanced combat video this is overflowing with mechanics I don't use nearly enough or at all. Great shit as always, this deserves way more likes than it has.
I platinumed first in normal mode then yesterday got platinumed in GMGOW, still doesn't knew this element stuff, never froze enemy with axe R2 nor used flame or anything. I didn't even know how to use parry with shield, entire game in GMGOW used shield which blocks yellow ring attacks. Don't know if i m fool or feel proud to platinumed in both modes. Maybe will try in new game +.
[Vaporize Frost] and [Extinguish Flames] Is actually nuts. It makes the game MUCH EASIER. Also each mob has a specific weakness to either Burn or Frost to trigger first, this particular weakness makes dealing with multiple of the Same enemy type much easier. After you get the Hex arrows is basically a garantee Win to every fight. That being said: Lunda set is just too good :v
What do you mean by "much easier?" Which difficulty are you referring to? I find Normal pretty easy but then No Mercy can be too hard. No balance at all.
The hex state doesn't just make it easier to apply element effects and create explosions, it can also boost an element, like with frost, normally enemies are just slowed, but after you hex them, they will have the same effect as if you threw the axe at them, they won't be able to move. Also, it is really useful, for damaging bosses, who are already in an elemental state, because after each hex explosion the enemy is cleared from the hex effect, so you can immediately star building it up again. If you focus on hex build-up with your companion you can just send a barrage of arrows at them, creating multiple explosions
@@bigboibebop No, I haven't done any testing, just what I could see while playing. And it's pretty difficult to spot the difference with burn damage without proper testing. But I also wander if hex boosts other elements
Yes, true. Hex is by far the best against einherjar due to taking 2 instead of 3 to 4. There is a lot to cover with einherjar in general, so I won’t go too deep into it lol.
On the frost effects uses: Not only does it slow down their movement, like how fast the move and attack, it slows down every aspect of them. If you freeze an enemy and launch them into the air or knocking them down they're basically unable to do anything for like 7 seconds. Meaning you can do some longer combos for extra damage (combining it with vaporized frost is deadly) or launching an opponent so u can deal with another.
Thanks for the guide! I really love the elemental mechanics especially frost, burn, and hex. It rewards you for not taking damage and give you a very powerful extinguish or vaporize for the burned or frozen enemies
Hey bro, thanks for all the effort you put into this. Really appreciate your well articulated, on point explanations without wasting the viewers time. Helped me a lot. Cheers.
It was helpful to know that I could hit them with the shield to activate the bifrost ! I’ve beaten the. Game and started over and going through the game again , so great video , very helpful
There’s an amulet set that boosts damage against status afflicted enemies. I want to know every way hex effects elemental damage. Speaking from experience, hex disappears quite quickly when trying to apply status afflictions. The sigil punishment charm doesn’t get much use because the status bar gets deleted as soon as another one appears.
I definitely hated Hex until I realized it causes the explosions when the status builds lol have a lot of fun with it now and only use sonic when I am doing stun builds.
Good video, great for beginners but I think you should have went into enemy elemental weaknesses far more, a good example is sonic. Most enemy’s take like 4 sonic arrows to get soniced, BUT grind are far less resident to it, they take 2 to 3 which on paper doesn’t sound too much, it becomes game changing since you can sent them backwards with blades aim R2 and into CG(combat grapple) into the hood attack due to it coming faster from that attack(and others) and it DESTROYS them due to them being far weaker to stun compared to most other enemy’s. This isn’t even the full extend of how much depth there is to it, but I don’t think you want to go that deep but point is it’s a fantastic tool. Ask me more questions about it if you want.
you did forget to mention that you actually get a sheild rond of purification where you can return status applied to you back to an enemy so thats another way getting hit with bifrost is a good thing because you can shield bash and transfer it off yourself. its never good to get hit but if you must its great to expire those status on you asap and turn it around on them.
Good tip! Another tip for wulvers, if you attack them outside of attack animation and before they transform with the blades traingle slam, it will always launch allowing for ring outs aka insta kills. You can also cancel their transformation with runic attacks(not regular staggers like axe frost bite sadly I think). If there is no ringout spot, you can use a infinite with BoC with OH(Orion harpoon aka aim r1).
You can use Wrath move (L3 + R3) with any one of your weapon to instantly apply frost or burn element in an AOE around you. It'll apply the element with a single move even on GMGOW difficulty.
