Yes Simon, keep on doing metal detecting. The Doors look great, the plasterwork looks great. The garden gets better and better. I love all the different projects. See you next time❤
The diversity of what everyone does keeps it interesting; plastering, building, cutting, cleaning, painting, metal detecting and planting. Just to name a few.
Yes please - do carry on with the metal detecting. One of the things I really like about watching the convent changing is all the different facets of it: The sheer graft that makes the big changes, The design - the furnishing and fittings that give the rooms their own character, The garden and its transformation The searching and the discoveries that give glimpses of the past lives lived here.
Billy, the garden is looking wonderful with the exposed grand stone walls and expansive space. I love what Mick, Rick and Steve are doing out there. Simon keep exploring the garden with the metal detector. It’s telling the story of the nuns, planting vegetables and flowers, praying and losing some of their precious medals along the way. When the library is completed it will be enjoyable to see all of the findings displayed. Great work everyone. ❤
I love seeing the finds from the garden. I think it is a great idea to display them in the library be it in a frame on the wall or in one of the cabinets the choice is up to you all
Everybody working on the convent are amazing, taking so much pride in their work and it shows in the end. You all deserve an afternoon at the pub, for a beer or two. Jobs well everybody.
It is amazing all the treasures that are being found around the convent grounds! The religious artifacts are so beautiful, and it is so refreshing to see you all have such respect for them and those who carried them. Thank you Billy, Mick, Rick, Simon, Yanis, and Alex, for making so many people's lives brighter. Your hard work and efforts are greatly appreciated around the world! Be safe and take care. You're always in our prayers!
Simon, the Crucifix with the "nail" marks on the back, if you examine it closely you'll notice it's two pieces. Christ is a separate piece from the cross. Those marks on the back are the back side of the tiny rivets used to attach Christ to the cross. Those are wonderful finds. Wonderful plaster work. It's great to watch the craftsmanship! I enjoy watching the cleanup of the back garden, and the lovely transformation and renovation/restoration of the inside.
Simon and Yanis will be glad when the ceiling is done, as much as Billy is glad his Osmoing is done! Tedious, indeed, but looks fantastic! Nice finds again in the garden! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
The ceilings need to be done 3 times more, one on each level and the back section of the Ground floor presumably where the larder is unless Billy wants to keep it the same but update it, Simon and Yanis (The flour grader!) have their work cut out!?!
Looking at Simon at the picnic table and beyond to the convent gates I remember when Billy first showed us the convent on the opposite side of the gate and how overgrown and the trees and vines were. What a LONG way this has come in a relatively short time. What a great job from Billy, Gwen and all of those that helped.
Just wanted to say, Billy, that I love the music that you play. For me, it makes it more enjoyable. I also missed the music that Alex picked out. It made it more of a cinematic experience. Love the videos in any case.
I love watching the exciting finds in the garden, and the transformation is beautiful. I'm thinking, buried treasure will be discovered in the future, will keep watching ❤
Yes, Simon, I do enjoy watching you guys find little treasures. Alex, show a before and after of the garden area. I know Mick and Rick are still working on it, but I would love to see an overhead shot. So much has changed it is hard to keep up with where they are at.
The finds in the garden brings so many scenes to mind of nuns living their devoted lives, whether gardening, nursing, praying--hopefully all in peaceful energy. Thank you for sharing and would love to see more----especially the quiet slow contemplations of Simon as he holds the items in his hands.
You are all doing such an amazing job, with ceilings look beautiful. The garden is really coming along and the metal detecting is exciting to see what you find. The doors will be amazing when they go up.
Alex, I enjoy your creative eye! Your crews continue to CRACK-ON even when you are not around. Billy is a wonderful “Trail Boss” and unique gold digger to calibrate the metal detection. Your channel never disappoints and even the daylight in the future bar makes a FUN episode on Sunday. Yanis, Billy and Alex on draining the pipes and moving stain glass windows. Big job and interesting.
Please keep metal detecting..it’s incredibly interesting, and as a lover of home libraries,yr library will be the perfect place to display all the lovely artefacts. The gardens look terrific, and the interior is as always stylish and you guys are wonderful to watch…love from Australia.
Everyone is doing such amazing work making the inside and outside of the convent beautiful again! 😍 The grounds outside will be so much easier to manage once the grass starts growing. I'm so glad you decided to seed it before next year. Billy, would you consider inviting Davy, the landscape designer, for a visit? The plans he created for both Stephanie and Dan are so amazing. I think it would be super cool to see him pop up on your vlog and offer up some ideas on how you could beautify the Convent grounds in stages. That way you can slowly work it into your budget. Just give it a think. Happy days to you, Billy! P.S. I really miss seeing Sadie, and where on earth is Ryan?! Could you please let them know they are sorely missed and need to post a quick hello so we know they're okay? Thank you. 👍✌Cheers! 🍺💖✨
Those doors are going to look amazing once they're installed!! It must feel like it's taken you forever, but for the viewers, it seems like no time at all❤❤❤
I love everything you show. Plastering, metal detecting, garden jobs. So interesting to watch. My gardeners heart is all excited to see what the garden will look like in the future. Hope you will plan some herb beds and roses and lavender .... Would be awesome
Great job Gentlemen!!! That garden area is looking wonderful, Mick is doing such beautiful work on it. Just think next year this time that grass is going to look lush and green. Never would know it was a jungle of brambles and ivy. lol We wont tell your secret. The dining room ceiling is moving right along. We are going to miss Alex and Simon when they leave but the work will continue on. Have a great day
Billy, are you thinking about inviting the people in the village for a tour to show the progress so far? Maybe there are a few that know stuff about the convent, too?!
I’ve often thought along same lines. The Pethericks have put their local on the map and it would be lovely if (when ready) they reciprocated by holding “towny” events, meetings there - wouldn’t it?
Love the idea of having the local town folks being invited to see the progress. There’s a weekend coming up where a lot of private chateaux are open to the public. Maybe once the library, bar and dining room are done so all the equipment will be gone. 😍😘
Should run a contest as to how many rolls of tape it takes to finish the plastering of this room. What a wonderful team to watch transform this historical property.
Thanks for sharing all the special medals, crosses, and artifacts you uncover. It’s fascinating to see. Billy - you truly have impeccable taste. I love the special touches you add to each new room. It may be small but makes an impact!
Alex, here is a SUGGESTION. …..you should string some of the sound effects of the metal detector to compile a unique intro “theme song” for your channel.
Well done to you all today gentleman. That ceiling is almost done! My neck hurts just watching you guys doing this part of the job. Love the metal detecting Simon. Hope you’re getting a fair amount done at the farm. Will you consider having some of those beautiful doors at your place? Mick the garden is coming along nicely. You’re a champion among men. Love to you all ❤❤❤
It's on its way to becoming "pleasingly manageable" others might consider it a little bland if they don't like the rural aesthetic, "beautiful" requires a lot more investment and a ton of work, the two or three workers have done well in a short space to tidy it up though. In the future it needs to be able to sustain itself economically and that means a sizable chunk needs to be handed over to orchards, vegetable and fruit growing with a large greenhouse, at least a quarter, the Swimming pool will also need a greenhouse like structure to take full advantage all year round and cut down on maintenance but in the end it all up to Billy and his finances!?!
Mick handles the digger like it's a toy. He never ceases to amaze me. Mick is a jack of all trades, and master of most, if not all. I know Alex isn't leaving till next Monday, but I'm missing him and his sweet little sidekick already. The same with Simon. How long will each of them be gone? I had to laugh when a big dollop of plaster fell on Yanis's face. There was enough to do the rest of that section they're working on. 😂 Just kidding Yanis. Maybe Billy needs to buy some zip up jumpsuit covers to protect their clothes while plastering. If there are any nuns still alive that worked in the convent, if would be funny if one of them recognized their crusifix, or medallion. Finders keeps though. Another great, or should I say grate (from A/C} day today. See you guys tomorrow. 🤗
I love the metal detecting you have made some very nice finds. The garden is coming along nicely. The ceilings look amazing as do the doors. Nice to see the maintenance work Billy.
It would be great to display these and have a card with a short explanation of what each medal or cross means, how old it might be, whatever can be learned about it. Even a "We believe this is a..." would be neat for people to see.
Absolutely fantastic video! It's great to see you again, Billy. Yanis is hilarious in the videos-he really knows how to make us smile every single time!😊
Mick was right, digging a stump by hand can take a month. I live in the Houston area and had a big tree fall over during a hurricane. Since the power lines were down, there was no school . My 3 teenage boys were happy about that, but bored because they had no TV, video games, etc. so they decided to attack the tree stump. Simon and Billy! Maybe on Saturday or Sundays until the weather changes maybe take an hour out of the day and metal detect the yard and see what you find. It’s an idea!

Maybe you can make a little display room where you show everything cool and old you have found like the gun and the crosses and medals. Would be cool, especially for guests! Like a history room. Edit: Simon mentioned something similar at the end. Keep looking for cool things like this!
Love the metal detecting in the garden. Perhaps you could find books in a library or something to help identify the pieces you find. The new doors look great.
Simon! The small silver medal is called a “miraculous medal” because it was miraculously popular after the devotion backing it was introduced in 1830. I am wearing one myself today! The only you are finding were probably placed in the soil by the nuns as a form of blessing. Of course the size and material of the crucifixes would leave me to think the same thing.
Have you thought about asking the Mayor or council over for a look around? Or even post a day you’ll have chapel doors open so people could pop their head in for a look see? You’d find out if locals are watching. Everything is looking amazing.
My dog had some extensive surgery. So, I’ve been hanging out with her to get her through this tough time. Browsing on RUclips, I started binge watching this adventure you’re all on. So much work has been put into this convent. Bravo guys! Anyway, the metal detector seems to be an exciting device and a nice break from the tedious tasks. Since these are going to be working spaces w/ crews, might as well create cleaning schedules for each area (like the vents)...at least you have time to do it now .🙂
I can truthfully say we were all over that convent today....except up in the air. I can't wait to see who gets the windows....one's on the way and has Billy talked to Simon about them?

@lindagage7315 it's great to see him in his natural environment! Worked till retirement, and now he still works hard amongst family friends.
