Simon toning down his natural accent and speaking to Yanis in a Rene from Allo Allo voice so he can be more easily understood cracks me up every time. It reminds me of an Aunt who moved to Spain and just added an O on the end of each word thinking the Spanish would be able to understand her better. Their relationship is comedy gold.
It warms my heart to see how the whole family moved to France and live close together so the oldies are part of everything and not shoved off to the side. They all seem to be active and still full of life... what a positive attitude life can do for one
The generosity extends through the Petherick family. Wonderful to have 4 generations in the family still alive. Everyone Helping as usual, you all work so well together.
@@__Dude_ that was a bit of an unnecessary comment. There’s no need to be bitchy when those who work with these people are obviously happy to keep working with them, and as for the personal financial circumstances that is nobody’s business aside from Gwen & Billy!

Hey! We are Aussies visiting France and we stopped by the convent on Friday for a sticky beak but no one was around. As we were about to leave, Alex showed up and waved. Thanks Alex. We were on our way to the open weekend at the Chateau de Purnon which is owned by two Aussies who are renovating it.
What a beautiful generous gift to Simon! The kitchen will look beautiful in his farmhouse! Such a wonderful family to donate instead of throwing it out. Recycling at it’s best! Yanis was especially cheeky with Simon today! So fun to watch! You all deserve the Friday brew! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
I so love watching the Pethericks antics, with Yanis, Simon, Billy, Grandad and all of the clan. I look forward every day for new updates. Will miss Simon when he goes back to the UK. It intrigues me as to what Simon does whilst he is there. Yanis’s English is coming on in leaps and bounds, well done Yanis.
Yanis, if using his native language, would be a very funny, loveable jokester. It ain't so easy in a 2nd tongue. I know. Gets me into hot water sometimes - unintended.
Billy has a very big heart and always eager to help others. I have watched him over the years and he has always been so generous with people. I am happy for Simon this will help him so much with his budget.

Never a dull moment, huh? It's nice to have a house that's big enough to take all the extra family antiques. Everyone else is downsizing; Billy has a chateau and a convent (and a friend in need)! It's not like you're short of bedrooms, Billy.
My wife and I have been binge-watching this series since mid-June, and have just caught up. It's nice finally to be watching in "real time," and not gazing into the past. I'll save some accumulated comments for later vids as I watch, but I do want to say that Billy is missing out on some serious merchandise revenues. There's a fellow Brit digging a "secret tunnel," and he's selling jars of "Tunnel Dirt" by the carton. Every single original beam, plank, and even lath from the convent is a hand-made artifact from 250 years ago, and I suspect that, cleaned up and presented correctly, they would be eagerly sought items for fans of this series, as well as fine offerings at the as-yet unimagined convent gift shop. Speaking of jars of dirt, the stuff you pull from between the floorboards, especially as some of it has seeds which still germinate, might well be popular, as well. Anyway, let's crack on! =^[.]^=
You are a gentleman Simon, I adore you! And I have a Simon and Yanis fan club in my family and the other half are Rick and Dads fan club , but we love you all…. Transplanted Irish Catholics in USA we are.
All of the furniture moving, repurposing reminds me of my moves from apartments to house. You guys show awesome stamina in picking up heavy furniture. Your fellowship is commendable. I would enjoy seeing some more house renovations at Simon's farmhouse, if he would allow it on your channel. Cheers mates ! 🍻
Billy,Grandpa,Mic,Yanis,Simon,Rick, and Alex. I’m glad Simon was able to receive kitchen. A lot of dismantling and reassembly work. Will look nice in the end. Grandpa donated beautiful furniture pieces. Well my loves until Monday. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🌹🌈❤️🇺🇸🕊😇🙏🌞👍
That house is gorgeous, recycling the kitchen cabinets is a great idea too. Sometimes what Billy says is just so funny, nice way to end friday, CHEERS!!!
New kitchen? How wonderful and it is oak too. Love that dresser you left at the convent, that is beautiful. I went back and watched the very first episode of the renovation of the convent kitchen. How amazing it all is now. That was a lot of work. I also thought of a new place to put the recorder. That one room where you found the Spinning yarn wheel behind the priest hiding place with all the wall paper. Have a great day
Interesting that everyone only seems to think the stained glass panels that came out of the bar in the convent can only be used vertically. You could also mount them horizontally on the wall, or even on the ceiling. Imagine them with dim back lighting of some sort. It would be eye-catching for sure.
Great video seeing furniture and the kitchen relocated to where it can be still used! Billy, I think what you called a dressing table at the chateau looks more like a secretary where someone would sit and write letters or look over bills. Such a small fridge compared to those here in 🇨🇦!
Such a lucky man to have parents and grandparents still around to share your adventures with. Mine departed too early and I have felt alone for too long, I miss mine immensely. Cherish every moment with them.
Such beautiful furniture, I think it's wonderful that it will go to the Chateau. Totally awesome that Simon would get to reuse that kitchen. I'm so impressed on how you reuse and recycle and not sending it to a landfill.
Those herringbone floors are stupendous! The big plus with the furniture for the chateau, was that wardrobe, because of period time design of no closets!
Happy Saturday gentlemen, grandparents! The kitchen cabinets that’s going to be Simons farm house is exactly the kind of that my parents installed on my mothers farm house kitchen in Michigan! Only the stain color was the tone of the kitchen door. Maple for Michigan- land of four varieties of maple trees, including sugar maples which make sugar.
Well that was a productive Friday😂😂 What a treat to have such generous parents and grandparents. Perfect that Simon could utilize something that could have easily ended up in a landfill. Will be fun to see it installed at Simon's house.
Simon- that kitchen set that was donated to you is perfect for your farmhouse- right style too. Have fun with it when you get it installed. Also the furniture that is going to Chateau fits there as well. :D Crack on Guys !
I JUST bought a little antique sewing cabinet with a sticky drawer and I’m going to try the wax candle. I was also told to leave it sit in its new hinge to acclimatize - that worked a little bit.
Simon! I agree that the tile countertop is dated and the groves are e the devil to keep clean, but you mentioned replacing it with wood. Don’t do it! Wood countertop is impractical and hard to maintain. Stone, marble, quartz,or granite are more expensive without the sure regret that you will have if it’s wood. Billy your grands’ furniture already look nice at the chateau! That salon where you put it is beautiful!
We installed a wooden countertop and my wife loves it. We put three coats of a product called Waterlox on it. It’s not a food grade finish but when would we put food directly on the countertop? We are really happy with it.
