@2019 What are your options and what do you want to do in the future? If you have no plans then go through with it. However if you do have a realistic plan I think you should aim for that instead. Working a job that isn't going to help you achieve your goals is just a waste, unless you have no options that is.
@2019 (1) Think it over what YOU would like to do. (2) Get as much information on the different jobs, courses and occupations as possible. (3) Consult a careers adviser. (4) Think about a practicum to gain some first hand information (It took me one day in a surgery to put me off the idea of studying medicine... :-)
The biggest mistake in early 20s late teens is to follow the path *_other_* people want you to follow instead of something you're good at and passionate about.
Thank you Raphael, good timing. I'm 18 and so far my worst mistake was thinking that I was lame. You along with Antonio made me realize that I have to care about me more and here I am, dressing up to be the man I know myself to be and building up my confidence and self esteem.
There is always a “test” in a testimony, and your testimony is truly encouraging and inspiring. It’s a pleasure to see good hearted people doing well in the areas that are meaningful in their lives. Thank you for all you do.
My fiance's father passed away when she was 18 from pancreatic cancer. I have learned from that experience just how aggressive a disease that can be so I am very glad that your father was able to recover from it. Your mother too of course. I wish them all the best.
Don't be afraid to start over. For years, I knew I needed another source of income to restart my freelance work, but I thought I had been out of the game too long in that field. I bit the bullet and said no matter what happens I've got to try again. Sure, I didn't get a lot of interviews at first, but persistence paid off. I've been at it for two years now and only wish I had swallowed my fears sooner!
I’m 27, a lot of this hit home because I’ve been on this learning journey very heavily the past 2 years. Letting go early, stuck in a rut, consulting mentors, etc. This is by far my favorite GG video. Thank you Raphael.
first off, I'm so glad you found success! I hope your parents are getting better and better. I wish you and your family Health, Wealth and Prosperity. 🙏🏾
Work hard throughout highschool, be frugal with the money you make, put it towards a good education and nice clothes when you graduate. How you present yourself and the knowledge and wisdom you impart is what matters if you want to get by in the world.
As someone who has been fortunate to be on the receiving end of both sven and Prestons knowledge for at least 2 years I am glad that I will be able to use what I have learned from them in the past and what I have learned today to help me in my pursuit of being a gentlemen. Thanks guys, please keep this amazing work up
I have learned that life should be lived to the fullest. That a person should never stop learning. Listen and learn from your parents because they will not always be with you. Love your spouse. Love your children. Most of all be thankful for every day that you are given.
GREAT VIDEO! I'm feeling down about myself and I'm 22 seeing these videos to see what I'll wear/do when i make it in life. At no time did I EVER expect you to say you had hardships and struggles like the average joe like me. Thank SO MUCH for opening my eyes and making me feel like it's possible for people like me to ever feel important just by taking it one step at a time. Thank you Mr. S. Raphael Schneider 👍 👍
Owen Hexley You are a very lucky and smart 14-yr-old!!! Watch some Jordan Peterson / Jonathan Haidt / Steven Pinker and Gentleman’s Gazette, and you’re going to have an awesome life! (And read your Bible for the deepest, truest wisdom of all!)
This is such a heartfelt video in which you made yourself vulnerable. Even better than your typical videos, and the lessons you've learned are valuable and instructive. A true gentleman indeed.

For me I learned that the path to wealth lies in creating businesses and then growing and selling them, using the profits to create bigger and bigger businesses and then selling them too, repeating the cycle until reaching financial independence. Wish I could go back in time and tell myself that.
I'm so happy you and your wife landed back on your feet. Life is tough and I greatly admire those people who actively work hard to get out of tricky situations. We need to be there for our friends and family and one day they will be there for us. Thanks for your advice on this wonderful channel!
Mr. Sven thank you for opening, to us about your life experiences to our young generation. I'm grateful because in your mistakes and in the learnings that you have passed onto us, will greatly help me and others in life. I said this because the life experiences that you brought up is very personal and full of learnings.
Raphael, true wisdom! Additionally I might include: 1. No one cares after school if you got all A’s. Brain surgeons still become brain surgeons with C’s and no patient ever asked to see their grades first! Their results are what matter to the state and their patients. You won’t care either when you get older and wish you had experienced more of life. 2. Learn early the value of ethics before you face dilemmas. 3. Don’t assume you live in the golden age of...(fill in blank). Time may reveal it was a golden age of darkness. 4. Don’t equate information with wisdom. Neither should you expect either before their time.
Turned 22 last week. Haven't been super financially responsible in the last year but now I'm moving out and in college looking forward to getting myself back on track.
Nice channel keep up the good work. My major regret in life is I have worked unsociable shifts for 20 years and I have missed loads of precious family and friends time which I will never get back 🙁
Hello raphel I would just like to thank you have you have helped me a bunch with my male fashion knowledge and and you have convinced me that dressing up daily is actually good I always liked dressing up but never thought of doing it daily
Great advice. I especially like "Why am I going to college?" Far too many people just go because it's expected, but have no idea what they want to do and all they're doing is prolonging their adolescence for 4-5 more years. It's important to get a degree in something useful that will actually get you a decent job (say, health care) as opposed to art history.
This what I think makes the Gentlemen's Gazette unique. Raphael not oy teaches you how to dress and act better, but also gives you pointers on how to live a happy and successful life.
I feel you about law school. It was a difficult decision to leave it, but I knew I wasn't happy. I ended up self sabotaging myself to get myself out. But I would not change it for one bit. Worthwhile experience, but not something I'd go back to. I much prefer my profession now.
I really needed this in my life right now. I certainly hope I can heed your advice, as I am at a major crossroads in my life currently. Thank you dearly for this video.
Thank you for these tips! This has really put my mind into place since I am currently 23 and I’m in the middle of a lot events that need to be picked apart or kicked away. Thank you
Best men's fashion/lifestyle channel on youtube by far. This guy is so well researched, personal, passionate, and well spoken. Alpha M is one big infomercial and has a snake oil vibe now. Guy has turned into a such a sleazebag. Antonio from RMRS seems to being the same route unfortunately. Please don't turn on us, Sven.
Excellent video with great tips, perfect for heading into my mid early twenties. 1:00 I can afford to shop at the store on the receipt, the thing is just finding an open Sears.
Often these life advice videos give very valid advice, but it's all the same. You went at it in a more personal way, and mentioned a variety of things I haven't heard others say before. Quite frankly, that was the best life advice video I've seen, although I am admittedly coming at it as a 40 year old with a variety of life experience who agrees with everything you said. Especially about quitting things that aren't working for you - wow would younger me have benefitted from that. I am a lawyer. I've had various business ideas, but law has always been my golden handcuffs. I'm comfortable at my practice, and I doubt I'd make as much doing anything else - and this holds me back greatly from doing things I might actually care about. Your point on this hits home hard. I'd love to have something of my own, but have made a successful legal career of being a worker bee for the rainmakers. Yet, being 40 and essentially a partner in name only certainly grinds on me at times... Anyway, outstanding video. Every young person should watch it and take it to heart.
Correction: You cannot save your way to prosperity, in the same country in which you are trying to achieve it. A general rule. If you stay where you are, you will need to earn an outsized income. If you expatriate intelligently, you can return relatively quickly with a prosperous level of wealth. This is due to the fact that you will be paid, usually, commensurate with your qualifications in your home country, but you will often be able to achieve a very much lower cost of living.

I think the biggest problem in my 24 is that i just can't dream what i want to do. Life just happening and you watch it. I have a little bit rock'n'roll type of live and i love it but there is no prosperity in future if i continue that lifestyle :(
Yeah, certain sacrifices have to be made to make your dream a reality. I quit my well paying job to go to university, because it didn't make me happy. People often said that I have more in me, so I chose a more modest lifestyle for a few years. I haven't graduated yet, but I believe that it will be a good investment in 10-20 years. (I'm not from the US, so tuition and living expenses are a lot lower)
This was one of your best videos, and that's saying something! I'd like to see a video about something mentioned in your video... Seeing yourself as a brand. What are the mistakes you made in your 20s?
2019 Do it, don’t do it full time, summers, and part time. It’s good to learn how to do different things as a man and will help you later on.
@2019 What are your options and what do you want to do in the future? If you have no plans then go through with it.

Chose the wrong subject of study at university. Took me pretty long to find the right one...
Following courses that weren' t useful

Wow this is great advice...
"Make more money"
"Don´t be too proud to accept money from your parents." is another gem.
Oh wow, such great advice.
None of the advice in this video was REMOTELY similar to that.

I am thirteen and about to get a summer job when I'm fourteen, this is definitely going to be a video I save and look back at a lot.
There's a book called The Wealthy Barber that's pretty informative and entertaining at the same time. Someone your age, could really benefit from it
