Thanks I just installed.
Tips:
Green wire goes to the grey wire with white/grey sheathing. Red wire goes to the brown wire going to the rear brake.
I had to use pliers to get a solid connection on the splice clamps, especially connecting the red to the thick brown one. At first there was no power so I had to squeeze the clamp pretty hard with some needle nose pliers to get a solid connection.
Make sure the metal splice part of the clamps don’t fall out when you’re fiddling with it under the tank, mine fell into the abyss and I had to fish it out with needle nose pliers.
Make sure your gas tank hose doesn’t get kinked, (it shouldn’t) just something to be aware of on r6 and r1’s.
I started my bike on the rear paddock stand and went through the gears as it told me, keeping the rpms slightly above 2k rpm.
Do you completely cut the Grey wire or splice it in?
Just about to fit my Healtech Xtype to my R6 (2009) and this is the best descriptive instalation vid by far 💥💥💥
Ah nice!! I’ve always wanted to put a gear indicator in my bike ever since I got used to the gsxr having one lol
Hell Yea! Now we'll know what gear we're in to smoke some super cars!!!
But you should be downshifting when you come to a stoplight anyway. So do can you not know if you're in 1st?
I have a 2007 r6. The only wire I don't know where the red wire to get power from. It seems like I don't have any brown wire....do you have a better photo to show the connector of that brown wire or the location of it?
@@Alex.running did you found it ? I also looking for the same mine is 2009, I don't know where to connect the red one 🥴
Tap into any key on power and you should be fine.
Helped me a lot man thanks. What i did is i took a little straight piece of metal (about 4×1cm) bend it to about 30° and screwed a hole in the left corner so i could mount it to the right inner screw of my left mirror so that i could glue my indicator on it so that i would be straight to the speedometer
Tap into a “key on power source” not just any power source. That’s super important for anyone wondering.
Thank you. This was all i needed to watch to install mine
Thank you very much friend for the video!!!! without you I could not connect the meter. You are a pro!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Your vids are funny, I crack up when you hope you’re electrical stuff works lol
Did you ever upload a full video of the install? I never had one on my 06 but my buddy just started riding on his 06 and we're installing it, works fine up until we start the bike it's not reading the rpms any suggestions?
Nice video, would like to try this, it was kinda hard seeing where you connected wires but only video showing how to do this so kudos!!
Epic video thank you
Excellent vid my dude!!
You should try and get a gold visor to match that bike !!! Would look so sick👌
Awesome brother. Looking good
W video. Thank you very much
Awesome mod
Thank you man. I freaking hate riding my bike because I can’t get my gear indicator to work. I followed al the instructions, the indicator comes on, the gear numbers counts down the. Shows an L (learning) but it never gives me a single to go into first gear.
Did you tap into key on power or constant 12v power?
Damn dude you made that’s shit look hella easy. So imma try again
the headlamps are so cool Where can I get it? Can you send me the vendor link?
Cool🔥👍
Gracias amigo😁👍
Hey man just want to ask if you can comment the link where you bought that camera mount on your side mirror thanks in advance
Does your work properly? Mine only goes to 4th and doesn’t read 2nd ?? Is that happing to you
Good video 📹 💫 💝
Could you please tell me how to take out the pilot light?
Bought that for a friend that has a Gen 1 hyabusa and we installed it with no luck. It cycles but won’t work.... frustrated. Can anyone find me a video for THAT bike??? Love the channel!
I need some help. i connected mine on my cbr 600 F3 from 98. It does blink L slowly but not fast when i start the engine. when i have the wheel off the ground and engage first gear the indicator circles and thats it. any help? Green wire is not connected cant find where to get my neutral from could this be the issue?
It don't have the N for Neutral???
Alright I already know id fuck this up
Ok so I just hooked mine up and it’s flashing L slowly it won’t flash faster or go to 1st gear I have it hooked up to the grey wire I have a 2009 Yamaha r6 does it maybe have to be hooked up to the blackish brown wire? PLEASE HELP
My buddy is having the same problem. will update once we figure it out
@@pvtwillward I figured it out it was hooked up to the wrong wire I thought it was the grey wire but it wasn’t it was the other one so I switched it and it works great now
@@pvtwillward the red goes to the brown wire going to the rear brake.
Lol this is the exact same almost as the one I bought on amazon for like 60 bucks canadian.
Yummy :)
Mine doesn't flash L fast and it doesn't go in gear anyone know how to fix it ?
Anyone watching. Pls for the love of god don’t use scotch locks when wiring accessories. You’re just creating problems for later. Go get butt connectors and proper heat shrink and do it right the first time.
U really shouldnt need a gear indicator but its nice to have. Just learn your bike sounds man... much love tho
Hope you raised your garage door a little so you didn't get poisoned... Otherwise it's a good do it yourself video thanks...
who the hell did the wrap?? looks so lovely from a distance but close up looks a friggin mess my god what a
shame.. to much yap mate in uk yes jabba jabba to much
You should always know what gear you're in, but I never needed a gear indicator. Just saying...
Too much work, I'll just remember what gear I'm
🙏🇺🇸🇬🇧❤️
You should always count your gear shifts and know what gear your without a indicator and those connectors your using will cause problems because they are Chinese made shit. Oh use twisted wire with solder on the joints you make, anything else is obama-fucked connections and is the lazy man's way if doing things and will cause problems down the line. Yes, I am a certified electrician and I'm telling you from experience!. Ride safe buddy!.
