Good question. This is specified by the people who govern our race series, so I didn't figure this out for myself. I expect it's just a way of getting more fuel into the engine, particularly at high revs. When we race, we spend most of the time running the engine between 4,000 and 7,000 rpm. Along with the exhaust we use and ECU remap, we get up to 130 bhp.
