Bought 1 of the Ozark trail knifes a week ago and been carrying it since. Great action, figity and blade is staying sharp out of the box. Ended up grabbing another after looking at 3 different stores. 👍👍
I bought 3 before all the buzz and I have been reasonably impressed so far. Today I talked to the sporting goods guy and he said they are selling as soon as they can be stocked and that a huge shipment is due in a couple of weeks with a limit of 4 knives per customer. Jerks are buying them up and listing them on Ebay. Madness....
I picked up 3. No issues with any of them. Perfect blade center, no blade play once I tightened the pivot... no complaints. This is a much better design than any of their previous releases.
I've yet to see the orange knife in the case at our Wal-mart. BUT, I drove home and ordered one online, then picked it up at the same store a few hours later. They must hide them in the back!!! i'm also waiting on the $60 Kershaw Leek that's been shown on other videos to be on clearance for $19 .... our sporting goods guy says ain't happening, lol )
There is the saying "you get what you pay for" and for a $10 knife the ozark trail one goes above and beyond, but you will not find a comparable one from any other company that matches in price and quality. What does that mean? It means Ozark Trail cut corners somewhere, the question is where and how soon will it be evident and how will it effect performance? Like buying a new car, you have two options; buy when its all the rage as it comes of the factory floor, or wait for everyone else to spend thier money to figure out the problems. That said, with the advancements in available blade steels over the past few years, D2 steel should now be a baseline for acceptable steel on a knife. D2 is no longer a premium steel when you look at what is available, but it is still good and should edge out (pun intended) all the other budget steels. The real reason we dont see this happening already, apparently, has something to donwith the heat treat stage. Apparently it is a costly time consuming process and many manufacturers would rather produce quantity over quality. Im not a bladesmith or metallurgist, so there is a good chance i habe my info mixed up or wrong. Whenever i look for a budget knife i start with looking for D2, then determine, based on my intended use, if a different budget steel will work better, like ease of sharpening or better corrosion resistance etc.
Great comment. I've been using it for about a week so far and it's been holding up so far. The heat treat isn't great, but it hasn't fallen apart yet so that's a good thing😂 Thanks for watching!👍
So, how do you really feel about the Mountain Dew 'Liberty Chill'? That Swiss Tech is actually a pretty good looking knife - looking forward to the review thereof!
That Barlow looks cool, I’ll have to keep my eye out for one of them. Thanks for showing us what you picked up at Walmart. I can’t believe it took you almost the whole bottle of that mountain poo 💩 to discover you hated it.😂😂😂😂 take care.👍
I've heard the same reports. After a week of use, the lock is still functioning fine. The springs feel very weak compared to other crossbar locks, so I wouldn't be surprised if they have limited longevity. But so far, so good!😂 Thanks for watching 👍
How about a challenge? Use it daily for a month and then do another review. Let's see how you feel about it then. At the end of the day it's a $10. knife and it shows it after a month of opening boxes, cutting straps, and cutting cardboard. My experience is it's a $10. knife and nothing more. A better knife is the Kershaw Hotwire. Nevermind it's not $9.97 anymore. It's up to $14.97
This isn't a review, my guy. I extensively carry and use every single knife I review. This is a first impressions. It would be monumentally stupid to review a knife out of the box. Feel free to check out more of my content to see my process. And I agree. It's not an amazing knife compared to every other knife, but I think it's a really compelling knife for non-knife people. We'll see how it holds up through use (I don't have much faith in the omega springs) but I'm pretty happy to see Ozark Trail going in this direction. Thanks for watching, man👍
Don't watch much football. As for jumping on the bandwagon, if you go back through my channel you'll see that I've been reviewing Ozark Trail for years. This one got a lot of buzz, which is cool, but I'm going to give it an honest review after I carry and use it for a few weeks just like every knife I review. Thanks for watching, man!👍

Yeah, the hype around the Bugout Killer is getting absurd. It's cool, but clam down guys!😂
You got a good knife centered blade and bright orange that's even more rare.
Yessir. Thanks for watching 👍
I'm seeing a trip to Walmart in my future.
Hope you find some good stuff!

Nice, man! Yeah, this is the best Ozark Trail yet. I'm excited to see how it performs!👍

19 bones for a Leek is pretty sweet! I'm going to have to keep my eyes peeled for that👍
The handle feel and action reminds me more of our pyrite lights 😊
The texturing on the scales is very similar 😂
@@gideonsstuff wait till they do 14c28n and mircarta with compression lock 🤪

The Swiss Tech is as amazing as the Mountain Dew is horrible

I can't believe it took that long either... 😂
The barlow is so freaking nice! Thanks for watching, man👍😁
I see some people reporting the lock mechanism doesn't always function properly it will be interesting to see if those are isolated incidents.

Just like the model t you can get any color you want as long as its orange.😊
Exactly 😂😂😂
Excellent video my friend 👍. I gotta get that Swiss Tech!
It's really nice!
@@gideonsstuff I looked at both my local Walmart's and neither of them have it in stock yet.
@@h4rry4x44 Hopefully you find them soon👍
I just missed getting one here in Tulsa.
Here's hoping you find one next time!👍
Nice brotha!

Poison indeed
I think these guys are full of crap our walmart has never sold out of these knives. There is always plenty in the case.
I don't know, man. It took me awhile to track mine down.😂
Can't find that knife in any of the Tulsa area Walmarts.
Please have that Walmart ten the online there available then, bcs the 4 Walmarts near me are out when I looked, and online is unavailable.
