Unboxing the ULTEM-ate Knife (Get It?)
I think you like it... just admit it
You'll find out my full thoughts tomorrow 😁
Hell yeah
You know it😁
Nice video. I like ur dinosaur collection
Thanks for watching! 👍😂
Looks like a knife i would appreciate in the golden years...
And it's still awesome today!
Hey Gideon. Nice!! I really enjoy seeing the opening nature shots on a lot of your videos, as I have never been to New Mexico. I do have a suggestion: could you try the following - hold your camera/phone close to your chest with the forearms locked to your ribcage (think chest lever grip cutting) and use your hips to very slowly pivot to make the scanning footage. That would turn you into a gimble of sorts, and could make the video look more stable and even more appealing. Why am I being so bold as to make such a request? 1. I honestly want to help make your videos better. 2. I watch RUclips on a large screen and I have a visual stimulus issue where jumpy footage makes me feel dizzy and nauseous sometimes; I can thank my mom's genes for that.
Thanks for watching, man! That's a great suggestion. Sometimes I get caught up in the moment and forget to take care with my videography.😂😂
Scales are wonky but I love it anyway! Good stuff brother 👊🏻
It's such a great example of simplicity being awesome
If thats a 1977 hans solo its kool sold mine for 100 bucks paid a quarter at a flea
Maybe I should have scooped it up😂
Why do caps cost so much? Because you'll pay the price, sucker.
Except I didn't pay that price. That was kind of the point. I don't buy expensive hats😂
Excellent video my friend 👍. Doesn't your Cabela's have a knife counter where they display the more expensive knives?
They do, but I forgot to film it😂
C'mon man, you will still live without any of that Chi/Comm shit.
Never said I couldn't. Literally just looking at what knives are available at brick and mortar stores in my areas
People charge that much because people pay that much... Vote with your dollars guys...
Exactly
Damn thought I had a lot of miles at 196,000 2010 Nissan titan had not one issue out of it thankfully
Just crossed 300k this week😂 I recorded this video a few weeks ago, wish now I waited until I'd hit 300k for sure 😂
240k on my burb when rust got the better of it 😢
Sounds like it had a good run😂
Amen brother!!
Had to be said 😂
Try replacing the battery in your remote.
Tried that. No bueno😂
Those aren't scratches that's called character 😅
Exactly!
How do you like your steak?
Wall to wall medium rare👍😁
doing everything right man !
Thanks for watching 👍
flawless transition
Thanks😂
100% some man stuff, good luck to you man
Thanks for watching!
Great video! Just got a sub❤
Awesome! Thanks for watching 👍
This was a fun little video. Kinda scummy for that one table to advertise mass produced damascus knives as hand-made in America, but it doesn't surprise me much; whether it's pure ignorance or malice, I can't think of many things that are faked _more_ than "hand-made damascus", lmao. Also, you're painfully right about hats; I have no idea why they're so expensive, but it sucks. You should show off your hat collection one day.
Yeah, whenever I see "handmade damascus" I always get suspicious 😂 I think a hat collection video would be fun👍😂
AWESOME!!! Definitely some "MAN STUFF " THANKS BUDDY!!!!
You bet, brother!
Mine formed a dent in the blade because it was smacking the inner connection piece near the tip. Did yours do that?
No, it didn't. I'll keep an eye out for that issue though. Thanks for watching, man!👍
Thanks for showing your adventure, the red beds and cave you went in with the stalactites, stalagmites, and water were my favorite parts to see.
Thanks for watching, man! I can't get enough of those redbeds😂
Nice vid! ❤
Thanks for watching!
I’ve had my eye on that knife for awhile now. I see it at Miejer stores up here in Michigan. It’s over 30 bucks so I haven’t pulled the trigger. I’m going to look around and see if I can find a better deal. Thanks for the video my fellow Camillus fan!
If you find a good deal on one, I think you'll really like it!👍
nice
Thanks for watching!👍
Interesting looking knife. It has a prehistoric look to it.
That's a great description of the Damned Designs style!
Aren't most companies using sealed bearings?
Yes, but no bearings are 100% dust, muck, and water proof.
I live in Northern Michigan near lake Michigan. Deep woods with rolling hills. No mountains but nice little hills. Trout streams everywhere. Gideon I’d love to see Northern NM. Some day you should see Northern Michigan. Great video!
I would love to see northern Michigan! Thanks for watching, man👍
While not "high quality" it still is better than the buck trapper. Better walk & talk, better retention, less blade play... & $13 cheaper than the buck. & the edge ratention is great. I spent an hour wittling a round oak branch into a square oak branch... still hair popping sharp
Nice! I'll make sure to stay away from that Buck😂 Thanks for watching!
My very first thought as soon as I heard what this video was about was "This is dumb", as I continued watching, because I'm also into "dumb" subjects...ha ha As it turns out, i had to IMMEDIATELY find out how I open slip-joint knives, from both pockets, framelocks that I don't flick open (Sebenza 31) and any other knife style I may own...HA HA...I'm right handed exclusively and hold knife in right hand while opening blade with left hand. This is the same way with any other type of knife, like Sebenza that I don't flick open, or non-flipper.
I'm glad I made this video to get this topic rolling😂 I love dumb topics👍
I love mine! ❤️
It's pretty sweet😂
Slip joints are stupid and dangerous.
Strongly disagree. If you know what you're doing, they can be awesome. But fair enough 👍😂
I was really thinking about this knife after all the hype it got. I am so glad to see this honest review. It saved me a lot of money.
You're welcome, man👍😂
The Xmas & X-Giving is perfect. I developed a taste myself. So it is CQB and Knife hunting. 😂 That damn ale
You're damn right 👍😂
What kind of gun?? Thats what we mean if we ask what you're carrying. Decently cool knife, needs a gun and a flashlight though.
I'm primarily a knife reviewer, folks ask me about knives on this channel😂Firearms make an occasional appearance here and there, but they aren't the channel focus. This knife is not cool, I kind of hate it due to the lock failure demonstrated here. My flashlight is an Olight Arkfeld. My job prohibits me from carrying a piece, so I really only pack a gun on the weekends. I appreciate the comment and if you ever need knife info, check out my long form stuff!👍
decent knife the clip is way to big
The clip is pretty awful, but it unfortunately isn't the only bad part. I have a full review out if you're interested in hearing more👍
Depending what pocket I’m carrying it in, I’ll grab it with my right hand put it in my left hand and use the right hand to pull the blade open. Much easier if I carry it in my left pocket, it just stays in my left hand with the right hand pulling the blade. I’ve never actually thought about it until this video but I remember seeing some of my elder relatives opening theirs like your grandfather does.
I'm so glad I made this video😂 This has been a great discussion
Hmmm I'm version 2
I feel like this could be a personality test for knife guys😂😂
Recon 1 Tanto, or Recon 1 Clip point; or this AD-10 lite Tanto? For general EDC & do-it-all-knife
For a do-it-all, Recon 1 Tanto, though I do love my clip point 👍
I used to drink a lot of Ginger Ale as a cure all lol, any time I was sick. When I caught COVID, everything tasted like dirt, and I tried to drink some Ginger Ale, and it was just nasty. I haven't drank it since.
Another wonderful thing ruined by COVID...
Shitty knife I hate 420 stainless steel
I think either way is fine as long as you don't grab the blade and try to flick it open.
Agreed😂
I've never had a bearing knife that didn't end up grindy and gunky tbh
Yeah, they get grimy. But they're also super simple to clear out
@@gideonsstuff how do you clean em?
I wasn’t taught how to open one, just figured it out. If I’m opening it to use it and efficiently get back in my pocket I open with left hand and close it on my leg. If I’m just showing it to someone and I don’t trust them to be safe with a such a dangerous spring in the knife I’ll open it slowly with my right hand because it’s not threatening at all. Not in my dominant hand when it’s being opened should in theory make non-knife people even less scared of it. Just my thought, seems a little deep now that I’m actually saying if I’m being honest.
It's an interesting rabbit hole to explore😂
I do it the same way as your grandpa.
Great minds think alike 😂
