Their rendition of Poe's Dream Within A Dream is one of my all time favourite pieces of music. Propaganda and Trevor Horn are pure ambrosia! The music of the gods!
Bloody hell...woooow! Have on earth was this overlooked by mainstream vendors back then? This is a masterpiece! Just stumbled across this. Loved Propaganda back then as now. Abba meets Depeche Mode i called them and Claudia's enigmatic vocals just grabs your soul doesn't it. This is fabulous. Can't stop playing it. Takes to another world this song...
That reminds me of my teenie years in East-Berlin. Went to a club and the DJ played it for the first time and i was very impressed and asked the DJ for the name of this wonderful band. Thank you, Trevor. You made our lives so much better... Kath xx.
The 80s might have ended with Stock, Aitkin & Waterman (SAW) being the “golden” producers, but Trevor Horn was the 80’s to those that were only a little older. ABC, Frankie Goes to Hollywood & Propaganda, to name a few were far more influential and their music still stands out today some 40 years later.
The song structure is so interesting - two clearly defined verses, the refrain is probably "sell him your soul - never look back"... I have to look at it again, the various elements have unique way of shaking one's sense of orientation off. Also a really well done live performance!
All of this Prince's Trust concert was very well produced and done at a professional level. One of the biggest moments turned out to be Ryan Malloy singing with Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Gotta say I am thrilled that Trevor Horn got the rights to post these videos. 😊
The first moments of Dream Within A Dream, when I realised I was listening to a musical version of an Edgar Alan Poe poem: I can still recall the frisson...
Someone else who knows OneTwo! I did have this back in the day, no idea where the heck it went to - but thankfully the album seems to be on youtube in a range of forms.
One of the BEST SONG of 80' and ever, plus the MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE,and also the NUMBER ONE PRODUCER OF THE WORLD......what else? PERFECT!!!!🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Produced, not written by Trevor Horn's ZTT. The german band Propaganda, with members Ralf Dörper, Claudia Brücken, Susanne Freytag and Michael Mertens, are the respective writers and artists/musicians. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda_(band) Unfortunately for them, they were somewhat inexperienced with the business side of the music industry and had signed a contract with ZTT records that resulted in them having to perform but hardly making any profit, while ZTT had all the copyrights and benefitted from this production and the spin-off (re)mixes. Not long after that the 4 original bandmembers split up. Claudia went her own way, and Ralph made music with his band Die Krupps. After decades Claudia brought some of her former and other collegues together and started touring under the name X-Propaganda, and they released a new album not so long ago.
Amazing. Back then I liked it but it was just part of the charts, every month there was a new sensation. It is only today some realize what a quality gap we have with the majority of compositions from the past compared to what is delivered today. It specifically becomes audible when you use an orchestra and having such a real good voice like in this performance.
in the 80s i was sound designer and engineer for Martin Hannett and i had slave to the rhythm and propaganda albums as my most played. i didn't know Trever Horrn was behind them until later. then he became my fav producer . sorry ////martin
In the UK this amazing classic only reached number 27 in April 1984, but in West Germany it was a huge summer hit - spending 11 weeks in the Top 20 including 5 weeks in the Top 10, peaking at number 7 on the official singles chart. It's well worth hearing the full-length 10 minute version: ruclips.net/video/MxOaokdqRSA/видео.html
I bought this single when it came out only to find it was different instrumental version....grrrrr.....great track. Propaganda were a curveball in musical style compared to the pop fare of the time...fantastic...viva la 80s!
It’s funny to catch the elements they would keep for the final version or use for other songs. The bass for example has been clearly recycled for tour the france
Loved this song so much that I worked out a plot structure for the creative writing part of my English O-level, and just hoped a title was included that I could use to cover it. Can't remember the title I chose; it wasn't a bad fit. good enough that I got a 'B'
Aside from ABBA (of course), I'm struggling to think of a group fronted by two such stylish women with music of such depth and complexity. Classic. Ladytron, perhaps? The recent X-Propaganda offering is, in my opinion, as good.
Why isn't this included in the Trevor Horn - The Prince's Trust : Produced by Trevor Horn (2004) playlist? Such a good concert! ruclips.net/p/PLxXwsithTj6pxCv5fTVkOS1X1Yuigkq-8&si=47EOTDqMdvojddOQ
My favourite band and album for 40 years. It's never changed it's just perfection in every way. That performance was outstanding
Their rendition of Poe's Dream Within A Dream is one of my all time favourite pieces of music. Propaganda and Trevor Horn are pure ambrosia! The music of the gods!
Li adoravo. Come ora.
A Secret Wish is such an unjustly overlooked gem of the 80's. And Trevor Horn did an amazing job with it.
Stephen Lipson produced the album
Always loved that album. That trumpet was stuck in my head for years 👍
@@rauljuliannestarez3610 Correct - supervised by Trevor Horn.
one of the most underrated 80's pop track. Love the complexity of if.. it all fits perfectly together
Listened to the album for the first time yesterday. Really good, clearly a TH production.
Bloody hell...woooow!

Just stumbled across this.

This is fabulous.
Can't stop playing it.
Takes to another world this song...
ABBA, not "Abba".
I was at this concert - non-stop Trevor Horn produced acts. Started with Buggles, ended with Frankie. Awesome night.
I envy you. I’d have sold my soul to Dr. Mabuse to have been there!
Love Claudia's voice. Trevor Horn. Music production legend and pioneer of how music is supposed to sound.
Totally agree 👍
This Is A Music Masterpiece In Every Single Way. 1️⃣
💯
Na 1930? Wel ff rustig eten he!!?
That reminds me of my teenie years in East-Berlin. Went to a club and the DJ played it for the first time and i was very impressed and asked the DJ for the name of this wonderful band.
Thank you, Trevor. You made our lives so much better... Kath xx.
Love both Propaganda albums and the spin off solo material. Fantastic live version, would love to have seen Propaganda live back in the day.
This concert needs a blu-ray release!
I have it on DVD, but yeah you are right.
1000%
Is that a cloud service?
I love it....one of the best Band's in the hole 80/90's....
SAW produced a whole load of utter junk. Trevor Horn was far better
SAW made all their artists sound the same, I prefer the Horn acts
And Seal!! Also resurrected YES with 90125 and Trevor Rabin🙌
Age wasn't always a factor. I was 14 first time I heard some of those bands. Actually 10, if you count The Buggles. Loved most of it.
SAW was junk pop. Thorn was pure art pop.
The song structure is so interesting - two clearly defined verses, the refrain is probably "sell him your soul - never look back"... I have to look at it again, the various elements have unique way of shaking one's sense of orientation off. Also a really well done live performance!

😊
I still have a ZTT white label 12 inch single of this. Incredible arrangement. This is a fantastic live version. Thanks Trevor. 👍🏴
The first moments of Dream Within A Dream, when I realised I was listening to a musical version of an Edgar Alan Poe poem: I can still recall the frisson...
Awesome!! ❤️❤️
unbelievable how they have changed in all these years, more beautiful with the years😄
The best live performance . Goose flesh feeling.
great to see this tune in HD once again---bravo!
Jeezuz, I had the hots so badly for Claudia Brücken back in the 80s.
I love the arrangement.
Truly stunning-the talent assembled onstage and this performance, one of the best videos on RUclips.
How gorgeous is Claudia? Her voice is amazing and her vocals with Paul Humphreys in OneTwo were stunning!!!!!!!!
Someone else who knows OneTwo! I did have this back in the day, no idea where the heck it went to - but thankfully the album seems to be on youtube in a range of forms.
@@clonmult its a great album. They did a demo called Gone for Good which never got on the album. Stunning track.
I was describing my favorite Trevor Horn moments to a 23 yr old this morning and as if by magic...this popped up on youtube ❤🎼
SuperHit! Thanks! Hello from California!
Brilliant artist - and band/Trevor Horn on bass!
SIMPLY AMAZING!
Masterpiece
grandi ❤
Absolutely stunning!
Stunning
Sencillamente espectacular ❤️❤️❤️
Brilliant! A Secret Wish was an epic album.

🇧🇷meu Deus que espetáculo, parabéns Trevor
Esse cara é unico!
Muy bonito, preciosi concierto. Gracias Trevor. ❤
I'm selling my soul to Propaganda, Trevor Horn and the whole brilliant bunch on stage! :-) :-) :-)
Just Brilliant !!
Trevor Horn produced so many things, musically, and had the Flair, underrated, a genius 👏 👌
Brillant, i love this Band and the Music. Please release a Concert Blu ray.
One of the best bands the Cold War ever produced 😎
Another masterpiece by T. Horn
To be fair, you have to give credits to the band for writing the songs and Trevor for his production. A fantastic album.

Amazing. Back then I liked it but it was just part of the charts, every month there was a new sensation.

Toll - leider auch schon wieder 20 Jahre her.
Fantastic! 🔥❤️
One of the 80 hits..danke claudia😂
What a great song. So much energy!

Around 40 years......still🙂👌🎶
Maravillosas
Agree with a few of the comments below, A Secret Wish and 1234 were superb albums, not one dud track on these albums. Still an excellent song today
I once sat in a tube train seat opposite Claudia Bruchen, circa 1983/4. My claim to fame.
Frau Brucher
@@MrErCojone Brücken is her name.

I'd love to see a Duel or P. Machinery live cover (or even the famous "Propaganda for Franky")
🙏🏽

amazing! Propaganda is alive!
Kein Zurück für Dich❤❤
Great ending the last few minutes
Yes drummer Alan White, spotted at 1:53.
Aside from ABBA (of course), I'm struggling to think of a group fronted by two such stylish women with music of such depth and complexity. Classic. Ladytron, perhaps? The recent X-Propaganda offering is, in my opinion, as good.
Don't forget the B52's! Kate Person and Cindy Wilson!
Warpaint. And they are four.
Forty Years????
Claudia Brücken!
For my part, 1234 is the best album of this group
I love Claudia Brucken
Brücken, not "Brucken".
absoliute iconic....... KEIN ZURÜCK FÜR DICH 🤗
Was that older drummer Alan White? 3:12
Yes, RIP. This was an evening of Trevor Horn’s music and he was a member of Yes along with Alan.
TREVOR ROCKS.... I'm a satanic gambler!

wow: living proof that some of the best music came from the 80s

So far from today bullshit
Sorry not the real propaganda... 0/10
