when you're not from either LA or NYC but you just wanna see if you can somehow relate
+Genat Haile New York values.
Lol
cuz you human
I was born and raised in LA and the only time I've been hiking was when I went camping when I was 9 and it was horrible. Ima stick to sitting on the curb and eating hot Cheetos with my friends.
Same
New Yorkers walk a lot... Hikes aren't new for us
yo that's true tho
Facts
I don't think that's what she met. You walk to get around not as hobby or for fun. Or at least the common person.
I live in upstate New York near the Mohawk mountain preserve an all everyone does is hike it is great
Think they meant NYC.
Why am I watching this, I live in Europe...and it's 03:56 am
+Caffeine we have it 05.12
Same! Omg I'm so glad its not just me😂😂😂 It's 4:19am now
+Hannah Sadikovic 11:30 pm 😂😂
Go to sleep!
+J Unicorn this is spiralling out of control
My husband is from Cali, I'm from NYC, it irritates me how laid back he is and slow he speaks.
lmao
Spiral Breeze LMAO I'm from Texas and people can't tell because I talk fast
I like texas, was at riverwalk in san Antonio, I also like the big dance floors in some bars
***** See? I'm about to get mine too, since NYC just passed chronic pain. But I don't smoke. I'm gonna take a tincture. I bet that makes pot heads mad. Wasting perfectly good weed to make a potion.
Spiral Breeze Please don’t say Cali. Most Native Californians like me get irritated when people say that. It’s California.
I just moved away from New York to Florida. Against my will. *Pathetically reaches for New York and whimpers*
I feel your pain...
+Michelle Evans i know that feel...
Florida is so great thoooo
+Michelle Evans did the same a few years ago. Can't beat the weather but no culture and lousy food
+Animal Jam not all of Florida is Sunshine state you have places like where I was raised it is humid and let's just say not safe
I just realized that buzzfeed just tried to introduce a whole new lineup of people....... y'all not slick
+naji jorden lmafaooooo
seriously.. we know what's going on here
😂😂😂
you just noticed...
I think I've seen the girl in purple plaid before
I hate it when I say I love in New York, and everyone automatic my assumes I live in NYC. I seriously live closer to Canada than NYC.
hallelujah! I'm not the only one 😆
LOLL that's hilarious bc I am from NYC and I went to Niagara Falls once a few years ago and they ask my family and me where we are from and we say NY. and they seemed unimpressed and they're like oh ny is just across the bridge haha. it's just funny bc saying you're from ny usually causes a reaction and this time it didn't. (we eventually said we were from nyc lmao)
Lolo Lin I grew up in Brooklyn before I moved to upstate NY and now I'm half an hour away from Vermont
that happens to me, I work out of town, meeting new people all the time. I live in Buffalo, I think people would laugh because of our winter weather @ 4 superbowl loses.
I live on Long Island but I wish I lived upstate
When you live in a small Canadian town in the middle of nowhere and the point of the video just flies right over your head
Right? I was so confused
agreed 100%
lucy where do you live I'm from Canada too
lucy haha same
same😂😂
Who turns down free pizza or bagels???!!! 😲😲😱
New York has the best pizza and bagels in the world
haha!! The sushi is one of the best too. The reason the food in NYC is so good is because everyone from around the world comes here!!! I suggest you try as many types as you can!!
That's funny the same thing can be said about San Diego (my home town) and LA they're both very international cities.
I was referring to SUSHI
Once you grow up on NY pizza and bagels, they are absolutely disgusting everywhere else.
She said "2.5 miles" and I said "Walk."
LA isn’t really a walking type of city but as someone from Portland Oregon (pretty much walk, bike, or ride the max everywhere downtown) I definitely agree with you
Yea I'm from the Pacific northwest so that's nothing for me 😆
Ayyeeee NY represent!!!
Ayyyyeee LA represent! But I have relatives in New York, and it's so awesome as well!
what's goof homeboi!
+Adam Acevedo good*
Yasss
I couldn't live in any other city, except for Nyc
when you say you live in NY and people think you come from NYC, It's so annoying. I'm practically Canadian!!
minekat 22 IKR I LIVE IN LONG ISLAND AND EVERYONES LIKE "thats not ny tho...."
minekat 22 omg same. I live in Albany and I've actually met people that have never heard of Albany or didn't know it was the capital.
Kimberly Napoli sameee
It's so irritating, I love visiting the city but COME ONE there's more to NY than that.
no, there really isn't lol
This video was somewhat accurate. I've lived in NYC my whole life after moving here when I was three and honestly it is very stressful. All is literally, work, work, work to pay your ridiculously high rent for not much space and a very fast paced life. What I love, though, is that everything is either walking distance or it is ridiculously convenient. Everything in NYC is made and thought to be for one's convenience. You can't beat that! This is why I would never move. Transportation although annoying after years or dealing with it, is so convenient and easy to understand. The subway system is so well calculated and designed to get you ANYWHERE in the city + the bars & restaurants, shopping, parks and museums are just a blessing! NYC is awesome! Stress + bipolar weather? Not so much
Lol I'm from LA and I LOVE hiking. And the bottle of green juice look like what my grandma has every morning. Taste pretty good. I will say public transportation isn't very good. Most people here have cars.
"2.5 miles"
Every Angeleno knows you measure distance using time..
"How far do you live?" "Like about half an hour away.."
Lol new yorkers don’t use miles either usually you just say what neighborhood you live in and they get it
And if that doesn’t work it’s blocks
Totot Redondo ohhhh that’s why I didn’t get it. I’m a new yorker😂
Which equals to 2.5 miles in LA. Fun times!
i live in la and i don’t think i’ve ever heard someone say the distance in miles only ever in time
hiking? you mean like walking long distances...... for fun😂😂😂no thanks
no hiking on Cali mountains🔥
I don't get the point of hiking without any type of view.
+Jackson Catlett views like the la skyline, ocean, etc
Walking's become a novelty to them since they drive everywhere and thus don't have to walk 5 gajillion blocks from their subway stop to their office.

No bars in LA... she aint in LA..
Alfonso Alvarez she’s in the wrong place
I know right I have two bars just 5 mins walk
I live in la echopark
Arent they mostly gay bars? Not that there is anything wrong with that maybe she jsut isnt into that culture
@@tablo1394 haha
Do people actually like hiking or do they just say they like hiking bc it's an "LA thing"
+SharmiS
here in LA theres a lot of hiking places that have really nice views, so we do actually like it
+Nhung Tran you've never climbed the Appalachian trails :p
+Nhung Tran personally from what I've seen of LA hikes on videos with the large sandlike paths, I wouldn't call that hiking. Try hiking in NH where your going up an actual mountain with thick green forests and huge boulders.
+Horse Lurver exactly. we are not saying that we are doing like mountain hiking, but just walking a nice distance around nature. like the malibu creek trail or just around the Griffith Park
+SharmiS Everyone should just live in San Diego. You know how you watch the weather and get a forecast for the week and see 7 days lined up? In San Diego, DAILY, you see 4 temperatures: beach, inland, mountain and desert temps lined up. I don't think there's a better place to live. Expensive? Relative to where you live, but yes, it's still Southern California. I'm still kicking myself for having moved away. And, yes, real hiking, if that's what you want to do. To snow caps.
In LA, there’s more than a bar, you have beautiful beaches, fine fine restaurants, tons of shopping centers/malls. And hey if you want snow, head to the mountains😄.
This is so accurate! I moved from NJ to WA and I had the same reaction about camping, pizza, and especially coffee.
I was born and raised in NY. I lived there all my life until three years ago when my parents decided to move to LA for no reason (nothing to do with job or anything) we just moved and LA is really cool but I miss NY and all my friends and I can relate to this
From NYC and live in SF now I can totally relate to so many of these... especially the lunch, nightlife, and the hiking,
I'm just wondering why would you want to leave NY 😑
Right?! She probably moved for work, but other than that, it makes no sense.
As a NYC native, I can tell you all we want to do is get out
orando15 this city will drain the living daylights out of u..trust me! I'm moving out of here in less than 2 weeks
orando15 cuz it’s not Cali
Robert please NYC u like pizza you know the answer also just please it’s awesome
New York City ❤️ not perfect but once you live here you'll never want to leave
James what did you decide?
New York sounds way more fun
+willdoseago Cuz it is!
We have HollyWood🔥🔥🔥
+Julio Morales weak argument. nyc has the best performing arts schools and so many shows and films are shot in NYC, it doesn't really matter.
If you have money, it is
+Francis M. True
I GET THIS SO MUCH except i moved to florida instead of cali
SAME
I moved from Florida to los angles! It’s so much worse than Florida
I moved from Brooklyn to Fort Lauderdale and then Hollywood. I moved right back to NYC. But I miss FL. 😕
I feel bad that you guys had to move from NY...now I’m here alone........:(
I've lived in NYC all my life and people have actually told me that I'm chill enough to be from cali, and the two times I went out there I loved it . The west coast
New York ain't just the city...
YAY SOMEONE WHO GETS IT!! 😄😄😄
Hi
it's a state of mind right ?
lol let's be honest no one really cares about the upstate part of New York
Lmao you right
As a born and bred New Yorker moving to la for college was exactly the same experience shown in the video , I really liked it though.
New York pizza> any other pizza
When you go to NY for a school trip but you don't get an opportunity to try the pizza :(
+George Delgadillo 😔 maybe one day you'll experience real pizza
+George Delgadillo go to a pizza spot that looks a Lil dirty on the outside for the real thing tho
+naji jorden Legit tho, I went to Italy two years ago and went to New York last year and the pizza was WAY better in New York... and i'm Australian
Yeah... I was born in Italy because my dad was stationed there and their pizza is kind of strange compared to pizza from the U.S.
So this is what Joe from You went through
Where my Cali squad at?🏄🏽♀️☀️
Here!
Homeless on the street
lol I love it when la people say they're going hiking. I'm from Colorado and I'm like that's just not hiking but do you.
Lauren Rauh Wow you're dense. Again, the whole point of my post was that there are actual mountains within the city limits of Los Angeles. The entire city is nearly as hilly as San Francisco, but, most people are unaware of that fact as the city is so spread out. Its like you refuse to learn anything, even when presented with facts - which makes you willfully ignorant. Mt. Lukens is the highest point within city limits at 5,075 ft., and that is just the highest. Again, a simple google search would have saved you the embarrassment.
*"Also I never said denver I said colorado so lets take it down a notch."* Remember, you started all this by saying that people from LA don't go hiking, when if fact not only do we go hiking, we do it within our city limits, unlike Denver (the most comparable city to Los Angeles in the state of Colorado) whose residents have to travel to hike.
I don't know what you consider large, in terms of cities, but for example the city of Boulder has a population of about 103,000 people. There are - in fact - 70 cities in California with larger populations than Boulder. Some of which are "practically in the mountains"
So again, you need to get your facts straight: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_California_cities_by_population#/media/File:LA_Skyline_Mountains2.jpg
Oh my god I'm crying laughing at the amount of effort you are putting into arguing with me. Like its a bit ridiculous. Also if you wanna get all factual the highest point in southern california is San Gorgonio Mountain. "San Gorgonio Mountain, also known locally as Mount San Gorgonio, or Old Greyback, is the highest peak in Southern California and the Transverse Ranges at 11,503 feet" I'm even being nice saying southern california which I dont know exactly where that is but I don't think its in La. the highest point in Colorados highest point is 14,433. Also the LA area is larger and you could travel longer then to just leave Denver or its suburbs to the mountains. But whatever, my whole original point was Colorado has better, more beautiful, hiking then any where else in America and espically California. Just my opinion.
Lauren Rauh ayyy👐 I live in colorado too. Here in Denver. Shout to you Lauren and yeah I agree with you statement about Colorado.
Lauren Rauh you don't think southern California is in LA? How woefully ignorant are you? Ppl in LA drive 5 mins and hike in Griffith Park or they can hike in Big Bear. The crappy weather right now prevents ppl from really enjoying their hikes in Colorado, whereas it's 65 degrees in LA.
Lauren Rauh I Also live in Colorado!
Wouldn't trade my LA for anything :)
iHumberto Me neither, getting a burrito right now.
At least LA people don't have to struggle in a snowstorm.
You wouldn't understand
and we're eternally grateful
At least we don't have to worry about water
We don't have earth quakes.
Snow storms come and go quickly and they only come in particular time of the year.
It's nothing compared to years of drought..................mmmm... maybe not. I'm not looking forward to this blizzard.
talk about it. this snow storm is killing us rn
NYC best city in the world okay. let's get that straight.
Good place to visit. I wouldn't want to live tho.
Nope, Moscow all the way. It's like nyc but bigger, cleaner, more historic
AND NO RATS
Nope it's LA
+Firefly 100%
+Firefly Miami for the win
When you're from the Midwest and can't relate but you watch the video anyways..
I travel for my job and I like them both but actually one of my favorite cities is Seattle. The people are pretty laid back, large parks are not too far away, and Mt. Rainier is not too far away. Vancouver is not too far away, and you can go whale watching too. Boston is another great city. Lots of great universities nearby. Historic homes. Cape Cod is not too far away, either. But about as fast paced as New York City and the traffic can be pretty bad.
I love watching everyone read on the subway. It can bring you to tears after L.A. traffic and reading famous people news like it's literature. I look around on the subway sometimes and think, wow, this is some real melting pot isht.
Minnesota to Florida. Same stuff because I can relate
There’s a huge difference between being from popular Manhattan NY and being from the main boroughs not many people speak of
...was the woman on the phone Kat Von D
I was scrolling through the comments to see if I was the only one who thought that.
Saaaaaame I think it is
+Hi I'm Kris | Krisartsee Same
Yeah New York is cool but I'll always prefer LA. I love the laid back vibe yet still like active, I don't know, can't really explain it but yeah. LA is the place for me
When New York is freezing and LA has the perfect weather for a thin sweater😏🔥
Julio Morales ny is only freezing in the winter
That's false! Try living in big bear lakes
aesthetix x Wow that sounds horrible. LA isn’t freezing in the winter but if we want snow we could literally drive an hour away to go skiing 🤷🏻♀️
This is actually false I've seen people in LA bundle up like it's blizzard with negative 0 or below temps.
Nyc is so much better. Sorry😳
Go and play in the snow
+Andrea Bushnell I will 😘
No.
yup
+Nicole Smith than a L.A? Yes. But not better than S.F.
in a New Yorker that would love to move to L.A 🙌
I'm*
Can't relate to the New Yorker I'm Californian 😂❤️
same
Yasss Cali life ❤️😂
citlali villegas sorry bud cali is the end for good pizza but New York is a different story
Being born and raised in NYC, I relate to this so much.
Jess's eyes are so bright and pretty at 1:50. Fantastic lighting. So beautiful.
NY sucks. It's too cold. I wanna move to LA
I know, I live here.
No, the winter is just cold, the others seasons are warm so stfu
Natalie_ Gamer it's pretty damn cold for 3-4 months. No one wants to do anything but stay in their apartments and you can't go hiking or to the beach. There are about 3-4 months where the weather is warm enough to want to be doing stuff outdoors, maybe 1-2 months where the ocean water is warm enough to swim in and the beaches are open. August and September can also get hot and humid af, better than winter, but again people aren't eager to be outdoors for too long due to the heat.
Suk MaDiq traitor
Only good for the buildings get ideas
True tho like N.Y's always in a,traffic jam for no reason like
So is LA. and their smog is ridiculous.
+Anisha Renee Traffic is not as bad.
+George Delgadillo in some parts
Lol no one smart from ny would drive anyways so it's not a problem
+Anisha Renee la and ny have the most smog out the whole USA. Probably America
Still waiting for her NY accent!
+Kary Bueno most new yorkers don't have that stereotypical nyc accent.
+SharmiS exactly I live in nyc and I don't have one lol
+Danielle Scheubel same. I live on Long Island
The accent depends on ethnicity, area you're from and age group. I guarantee an Italian guy in his 40s from Howard Beach will have one.
I'm from NYC and I have the accent.. But I noticed a lot of people try to lose it cause they think others will feel like they sound stupid
0:25 Stop, this is already accurate! I prefer to meet friends for breakfast around 7 am so I could go to work right after and then run errands :)
Lmao New York isn't just NYC
Exactly! It's more than just a big city!
L.A isn't just L.A there's other cities
LA is also Louisiana(ik it's a state but yeah)
melisa d TRUE I'm in lower New York like rockland
+Ulit 8 Exactly like Burbank, Glendale theres a lot lol
I WAS BORN IN NY AND MOVED TO CA AND THE PIZZA WAS SO TRUE
They didn’t have true pizza in NY?
I'm never early I'll say a joke what do you call someone who makes clothes for rabbits
A hare dresser
Get off RUclips
+Rain Beerhorst cheesy lololol
OMG THAT WAS SO FUNNY!
now get off youtube.....😐
Hahaha
+Natalie Valenzuela I think I was 10 in that picture 😝 I'm 12 know
Having grown up in California I can confirm a lot of our hobbies involve some form of excercise. Anytime I ask a friend if they want to hang out they say ya we should go hiking.
Living in New York, you never stop. You're always busy! The only reason I would move is for a pace change, or living cost, it's so expensive here... Worth it though.
Personally, the traffic isn’t worth it to get to the hiking spots. The only hiking I do is walking in and out the dispensary.
Ugh I need to get outta nyc and move to LA
Monica Lum traitor
To step in human feces all day. No thanks
@@tarapeterman4340 W
Hahaha
I live in France and I'd LOVE to live in L.A, but I feel like it's really expensive
finn Eight depends on the area you live in. It’s cheaper than most major European cities, like London and Paris.
If y'all don't like LA then go back to NY and stop complaining and leave us alone with our palm trees and beautiful beaches 😒🌴
Beautiful .... cooolllld beaches
Yeah! I love in L.A. and I can tell u that no one take slow and leave us alone with our mountains for hiking 😒⛰️
Aline Pasillas oh yeah your palm trees beautiful beaches and uhh what was it oh oh I know! ...legal marijuana
beautiful.. b R oW n sanded beaches....
I’m from the east coast not a New Yorker but this is all extremely relatable I’ve never been to LA but organic stuff and like hiking sound like a pain
I’m from Chicago and I really wanna know what it’s like to live in another big city, but I’ll always love Chicago 🥰
ive always wanted to live in NY......i live in TX.....
Hannahforever 18 why would u do that???
Hannahforever 18 where in texas did u live? if u dont mind me asking.
Ang actually i live in South Houston. and its nothing special unlike NYC that place looks beautiful.
Lydia Royal I've always wanted to live in Oregon, I live in Ohio
Lydia Royal ayeer
Cringing at the people who call California "Cali". NO ONE FROM CA USES THAT WORD EVER UGGH PLS STOP
thank you
I think its more of an eastern thing, we always seem to cut the names of states and cities short: Philadelphia= Philly, New York City= NYC, New Jersey= Jersey, etc. No other place in the USA has a name like California so we just cut it to Cali, its quicker and everyone knows what we're talking about.
Where's the Chicago video
as a Chicago girl living in LA I agree
Represent!
+Bria Delaney (briiiyonceee) We just dodge bullets all day
Represent!
someone from naperville ate it. it got mistook for a cassero-- i mean, chicago pizza.
The transportation one applies in ATL too. It literally takes an hour to go somewhere thats 3 miles away. If you dont live right next to a train station, you have to take 2 buses and a train to go anywhere
I'm just here in Atlanta, wishing I could visit both cities to see the difference.
When you can't relate because you haven't been to either one of these places
a new yorker going into LA walking around town: they look around, and they say "where is everyone?!" someone walks up and says, "um, there like 300 people out here." the new yorker says, "yeah i know right, its like a freaking ghost town!" later that night in her bed, she says: is everyone dead?, i don't hear a thing!" she gets up and looks out her window and she says: omg where are all the cars at? there like 100, its so barren out here!"
Yeah, LA is sooo terrible. With our quick drives to either the beaches, mountains, or Disneyland. Don't forget our horrible line-up of vintage and historical food places like Pink's and Randy's Donuts. Oh dang, I forgot about the amazing hikes with killer views, amazing taco trucks, and In n Out. Yeah, it's super bad here, please stay away.
6FeetAbove "nobody cares about Disneland and beaches" LOL okay I'm sure hikes aren't limited to just people in LA. Also, if you want to believe that NYs mexican food is better than Cali's, which is right by Arizona and Mexico, you're living in a dream.
TheJellyWarrior Nobody cares about hikes outside of LA. And I didn't say NY has better mexican food- we just have better food overall.
So happy to be a native New Yorker and still here!!!
From Michigan, moved to Arizona, and currently in Missouri. Can’t relate...
How about one about the struggles of being from Massachusetts. or just New England as a whole.
yes please
New Hampshire 😌
New Yorkers Unite!
Well, I'm from Georgia so I can't relate to this at all! 😂
***** Get some rest!
“How far do you live?” “2.5 miles” 🤣🤣🤣
Do the struggles of someone from NYC or LA adjusting to Midwest life!!
Yeah... I should live in New York
So, basically LA sucks in comparison to NY? But we all knew that already.
+cristian elizondo thats manhattan. That's the only place people know about nyc. There's other places. There are 4 other boroughs
+Chantel F Thank you. Everyone forgets about Staten Island 😂
+cristian elizondo there's plenty space. People in NY just don't like "yards" and having big open space. We would move somewhere else if we disc
lol u forgot about long island.. plenty of space here... plus upstate as well.
cristian elizondo its not just about space. NY is a more modern urban area. NY is busy place and holds lots of oppunorties for people to work and live life. It's gonna be crowded. It's a city compared to a more surburban rural place. It depends on what suits you or how you just have life. Everything closer to the city will be crowded. Where I live queens, it's not that crowded. It's pretty decent. People just want to be closest to manhattan because that's where people work shop and other things.
New York is the best state tbh
+Adam Acevedo i think they're talking about nyc tho and not the whole state because honestly the rest of it is pretty plain
+Surprised Patrick the rest is only good for ski resorts and hiking
Surprised Patrick NYC is the best also. (I live there)
Diauts true.
+Surprised Patrick There *was* Woodstock, but that was '69.
I've lived on both coasts. The thing about la.... the dating scene is not cool, there's always a car chase, and traffic sucks . But not all the time. The weather really is awesome. The pace can be as fast or slow as you want so that's cool. You can live in the city or a suburb area that's no more than 20mins away. I love music so the bands that I like are always out here. And it's closer to Cabo😌 But one of these days I'm definitely moving back east... After weather stops being important to me (and I stop wearing makeup jk).
I moved up to nyc. It's funny how we know how many miles one place is from another. Love it here
don't know why this girl was saying that there was ONLY a birthday party to go in LA. LA has plenty of night entertainment: concerts, clubs, bars, restaurants, and the beach; let's not forget all the universities there that have frat and sorority parties and football games (if you are young). this video was not acurate at all.
if LA was this boring the famous wouldn't live there.
Rosie Her LOL LA is the place for nightlife!!! So many concerts, raves, and clubs over here. Plus Vegas is only 3 hours away, 30 minutes by plane.
Why does the girl on the phone sound like KAT Von D ?
People from L.A be like: "But we have really nice weather", nice weather? We haven't had much rain in years, were in an extremely bad drought. Your "nice" weather isn't being so nice to you.
New York is currently buried in snow, so ditto.
+chs75 lmao that's just our winter
5SOS and SDK Travel bans, freezing rain warnings, tidal flooding, 30+ inches of snow, trapped in your homes, being trapped on highways for hours...well okay then, but you guys can keep it.
+chs75 it's usually not that bad lol some people are even enjoying it. Plus all main roads have been closed so there's no way that people are trapped on highways.
5SOS and SDK Tell that to the 250,000 people without power or the 18 people who have died in storm related incidents, thus far....I'm sure they're having a blast!
This is giving me Seattle vibes. We always look like we're ready to go for a hike or run.
I'm from New York. Spot on. I no longer live there and the pizza and bagel thing and public transport problems are my life.
I literally just moved to Southern California from New York. Go figure!
+Riachanai How do you like it?
Have you hiked?
THERESA IN THE HOUSE!!!
I feel like the only one of these things that is actually accurate is the transportation. LA transportation really is horrible but other than that this is so stereotypical of like "white" LA lifestyle.
the night life part was so true. you never spend a whole night at one location or in one borough. it's just too much happening
Pretty accurate as a New Yorker that moved to LA 2 years ago. Can never get used to the traffic, can't find good pizza or bagels, and everyone is much more health conscious. It is interesting I have always heard the stereotype that New Yorkers are not that friendly but in actuality, I have found that New Yorkers are much friendlier than people in LA. Who would have thought! :P
When u think L.A. is Louisiana but it's not ;~;
so that's how joe felt
none of these struggles are faced by Casey neistat
OMG THE HIKING THING IS SO RELATABLE.
literally barely anyone in NYC/Long Island hikes lol.
1:11. When the phone isn’t even on speaker 😂😂
