I hope luck is on my side, never had vr device ever but always liked to follow vr content in general
could you release an app on applab? i installed with mobile vr station and never needed an external device i dont even think it needs developer mode

Biggest scam ever.
It literally takes 2 clicks once you have debug mode enabled...
I setup developer mode and debug option but whenever I press select device the tab pop up to choose my headset doesn’t show
I found the issue I was using the app if you install in browser the tab will pop up

Does this require v63? also you did the install from the adb and pc connection, and you enabled the login and link account with code # from the web bowser on the headset, so it not really "web installer" but it is "web link code enabler", is this correct??.
I'm trying to do the web installation but when I click on the select device no pop up comes up at all, any help?
did you hit the button, to allow USB debugging in the headset?
I got the same problem as you! then I tried with the browser it let me download the app. Then I installed it manually from SideQuest
Make sure you have allowed de-bugging in your headset settings! If this has been disabled the pop-up won't appear.

@@GDrisic Be sure debug mode is on the Meta Quest app, you've tried every USB cable you own. Be sure you're on the Quest main account too. Restart the headset and PC just incase. If all else fails, look for a no PC and Phone Tutorial on RUclips for SideQuest.
I've got adb wifi turned on, but when I try to change something like resolution it says unable to connect, try again

Since my monitor is broke I couldn’t do it on my computer so I did everything on my vr m. But after I got it the adb network it it doesn’t work and only shows a red text. Any amswers

I need a little fixing problem. My Wi-Fi thing was on and for some reason I couldn't change the settings because it says unable to connect. What do I do after that cuz I already allowed the debugging

Make sure you have followed all steps exactly. It Dev Mode isn't enabled it won't work.

When I do this. I don’t get the option for device settings? The lil WiFi symbol at the top isn’t there either

No, it's built into the browser. You'll need to use Chrome.
I see live captions at 2:41, what is that?
In certain video game’s and on specific apps it can text live captions for some to see what some one is saying

Is there an apk file for the latest version?
im connected through usb-c - usb a cable, video just said use a data cable and not a charging cable. i dont know the difference. i thought data cables were used as charging cables. either way, on the select device nothing shows up even when using the official quest link cable. i press select device. nothing. doesnt bring up anything. HElP
Data cable can be used to charge a device along with data transfer, while a charging cable can only be used for charging purpose. At 1:57 we go through how to fix the select device issue!

A number of things that could be the issue:
The cable is faulty.
Or the port could be damaged. (even if it charges the device, it doesn't mean it's going to allow the initiation of the ADB connection).
Debug mode could not be turned on inside the headset.

Yes in the settings panel by clicking the hamburger icon on the left. Be sure wireless mode is enabled at the top of the app Wi-Fi icon.

Hey sidequest, why when i change my graphics higher on the headset app, its is laggy and unplayable and i dont even set it that high, is there any way i could use the easy installer becuase when i am on the website, it says advanced installer or web intaller, not easy installer. Hello, I am a junior developer and I would like to know how to apply for WIFI network debugging permissions on Quest devices?
I have tried many methods, but they all failed. Functions such as turning off the guardian and increasing the resolution require adb commands. I don’t know how to obtain wireless debugging permissions through code, as shown in the video.
Click the wireless icon at the top of the app.
Everything works perfectly up until the install itself, i can really only install anywhere between 1-4% of it before the download freezes, very perculiar

If you have to connect it to your PC, does it really deserve to be called a web-based installation? Like seriously, the whole point was to not have to connect it to the PC.
Yes, but you can change resolution, and you can do it with a phone, after installing it it never has to be plugged in
@Jayden_gtag_BANAN i can install the advance mode and running great but before I couldn't install through web because when I click select device nothing happens. I can acess the pc app but I also would like a VR App. What should be my issue?
You can use your Android phone too. Or any device other than iPhone with a Chrome browser.

My god why is everything a troubleshooting nightmare with this fucking thing. developer mode is on, the usb option thing =/(&% in the headset is on, I am using the cable that came with the quest 3. There is no indication they are registering that they are connected to eachother
Sorry to hear you're having trouble. If you're using the Desktop app, you'll see the headset is connected when a green dot appears in the corner of the window. You'll need to make sure you accepted all of the permissions that appeared in your headset during installation, too. Yeah, sure "quick and easy". Man I HATE Side quest so much. I mean, what kind of app should require signing up as a developer to Meta? Then you have to go to their website and spend hours figuring out how to download the stupid thing to then plug in your VR headset to a PC, all just to get it working on the headset. I really wish this piece of trash never took off, the Oculus Store is wonderfully convenient. I hate how I have to go through the difficult steps of downloading and redownloading this trashy app. Why can't Sidequest just put their app on the Quest Store? That way you wouldn't have to waste hours of your life trying to install it.
I raged a bit here...... Side Quest is cool, the community is great. I just wish it was user friendly.

Sideload or download them, then play away! If you're sideloading, the launcher will be in your 'Unknown Sources' folder-found in the filter of your app library

A few things could be the problem here:
The USB cable could be faulty (even if it charges the device, it doesn't mean it's going to allow the initiation of the ADB connection).
Is Debug mode on? This is required for the process to continue.
Are you on a secondary account? It is currently not possible to sideload onto a second account. SideQuest can only be install on a primary account.
You may need to re-enable 2FA in your Meta Account.

You need to install from Chrome for the settings to appear in-headset.

Instead of a pc can you use an android phone? The video doesn't explain WHY you need to connect it to your pc.
A PC is the most supported and 100% works as long as you've got debug mode enabled, have a USB cable and use Chrome on the PC.
Android support isn't officially mentioned by us or said to be supported. So anything more than that is a bonus. Remember, this is experimental. It will get better and have better availability.
PC is the sure fire way to get it going that we've officially tested, we'll explicitly tell you what we got it to work with in every videos. Android can be hit and miss. If you manage to get tit working on your phone browser, all the better.
