Another theme in Pixar movies (at least more recent ones) is that happiness isn't getting what you want, it's wanting what you have; a message I fully believe and support.
I really liked the message of this movie, and I think the line, "You don't get to choose who Riley is" really contributes to it. One emotion doesn't define you, but all of them and all of your experiences do.
The line also calls back to the first InsideOut movie when Joy was basically in command of Riley and is doing all she can to do what is "best" for Riley by excluding other emotions especially Sadness, and in InsideOut 2, Joy realised that again, simply replacing what Anxiety interprets is best for Riley just doesn't work like fixing an incorrect gear in a machine, it would just put Joy at the top and above the others again with mostly her interpretation (Riley's old sense of self)
@@ThomasTubeHD Agreed. And while I'm sure it will be a long time before we get an Inside Out 3, I wonder what they'll do for it. What kind of themes and emotions could it explore?
You worded the film's special qualities in an exceptional way. Both films have a similar througline of "listen to your emotions, accept the bad in your life, etc" but it's nice to see someone willing to see how the sequel actually tries to evolve the ideas of the first.
Inside Out 3 (My thoughts for it at least) Two new Sectors of Riley's mind would open and expand headquarters. I don't know what they'll be called and these are just placeholder names: Logos Sector and Ethos Sector. B/c emotions aren't the only aspect of a person's mind. The emotions would be the new Pathos Sector. This would introduce more complexity and nuance to Riley's mind. Ethos Characters: Morality and Credibility (and others idk yet) Logos Characters: Logic, Rational (in charge of Rational thinking), Organisation, Analysis, and prob others. Logic would the dominant force in this like Anxiety was in Inside Out 2. He would, well, consider the emotions are "too unstable" for Riley to entirely rely upon. So, Logos would effectively remove all power that the Pathos sector originally had (this is all 9 emotions) from headquarters for Riley's decision-making. I'm not sure how the plot would exactly go down but this is the general start and the movie could with Riley getting full control over every aspect of her mind, Logos, Pathos, and Ethos.
reading the coach's notebook affected Riley and Anxiety Too bad it's not like the park record book from Regular Show. So Riley would just have to erase and write other things to make it come true
You do make a valid point with this video. And I do see where you are coming from, especially after seeing Inside Out 2 a second time this past weekend.
I think inside outs message was to accept who you are but I would like to see inside out 7 it would be like about nostalgia taking over the mind and Riley dying it would possibly be one of the greatest ends to a movie ever but I hope there’s a third one atleast but yeah I hope they make more sequels to inside out but keep original content flowing inside out one and 2 are the 2 best movies I ever watched I hope they make a good triquel🙏

I like the lesson of inside out 2 loud and clear.
Inside Out and Inside Out 2 are honestly such amazing films, and I reallylove the lessons they teach about life and growing up.
Wait I throught Cars lesson was to slow down and enjoy life
That’s one of the messages, but I just took away different one 🤷♂️
@@MarngelRambles oh ok fair enough
@@MarngelRamblesThe message of cars is to have fun and be cool but don't be an asshole.
In a way slowing down and enjoying life can lead to finding value in humility and holding others in good respect.
definitely sticking around for more of your commentary!!! keep this up!

I think Inside Out and Inside Out 2 could teach us something or help us learn.

Good idea about the third movie. not all adults have the brain together and most are very messed up though.

Someone should talk about the fact that inside out and hazbin hotel both have a character called val
Oh dear…
Pretty sure a lot of franchises have a character named Val
@@eeveeofalltrades4780 sonic and thomas don't.
@@bluebellsforever I said a lot, not all
Why does that matter..??? Val is a common name?
