After I landed in the Faroe Islands, my Airbnb host was sweet enough to pick me up and bring me to their home since my car hire didn't work out. Susanna had the radio playing while we drove to Kirkjubøur. It had just rained and the sun had burnt through the clouds. Thousands of cascades were pouring down the cliffs and this song came onto the radio. Eivør, I listen to this song and am reminded of the greatest memories and the kindest people and the incredible beauty of your homeland. Thank you for breathing this into the world and giving so many of us warm hearts and refreshed souls.
The more new music and music videos of Eivor I discover, the more I fall in love with her. She is simply enchanting and stunningly beautiful. Her voice quality and musical talent are superb and her emotion and expression is unmatched. I hope someday to see her perform live

Eivor, here's a story. As a child, my norwegian mother told me a bedtime story about a Viking forefather who "sailed far away" and was lost in the fog for many days. He couldn't find the sun with his magical sunstone. He lost began to lose hope and released his Raven and it did not return. Then after many hours he heard his Raven from the distance and clouds parted and he saw a stone castle atop hill. He rowed furiously to the land and met a Wizard who fed him, gave him dry clothes and provisions. The Wizard then cast a spell upon him. Ironically, the name of the story was "Veiviser og Faroya" "The Wizard of Faroe". Then I translated the lyrics to Trollabundin. I wonder if we were told a similar story as kids?

Je suis allé deux fois aux Îles Feroe, et c'est la deuxième fois en 2016, dix ans après, que j'ai découvert cette chanson sur le ferry, j'ai tout de suite acheté le disque, et cette chanson est devenue la bande son qui épouse dans la Paix du Christ ce pays et ses habitants. Et cela est valable pour tous les pays que composent ce monde ; il suffit d'aimer les gens et d'être équitable avec eux et alors ils partagent le meilleur de leur bien, de leur culture dont la beauté de leurs paysages qui viennent comme leurs biens de Dieu : c'est comme cela qu'on changera le monde.

This song and recording is a true masterpiece but sadly is so under known as is Eivor. She is one of music's all time great singer songwriters/performers but so few people know her outside of parts of Europe.

At 2:27 there is a device among the keyboard player's setup that looks a lot like an Omnichord, something I remember from the '80's that was a popular fad for a while. I don't think this is one because it appears to have far too few buttons but I wonder if it is related somehow (same manufacturer, perhaps).
Nordic beauty at its best! Oh, and nice idea gluing your belt with duct tape to your guitar! I've always used these rubber rings from the beer bottle stoppers to keep it where it belongs but this is also worth a try :D
