    English translation of the lyrics:
    Be Mine
The beautiful night is glowing ashes
In a mass of stars the world awakes
    Naken I stand
    Alone on this spot
A man so fine but so timid
    Warily approaches, watches
His hair as dark as seaweed,
his skin as fair as chrystalline stone
    Be mine, be mine
    Be mine, my world
    You back away
    Frightened, longing for bliss
    Seduced I follow you
    Stay with me
Sea and sky intertwine at the brims
    Aroused your hands shiver
    I enter your space
    Feel who I am
    Be mine, be mine
    Be mine, my world
Locked the chest, hid the key
    Sanctified it against sorcery
The man is now my sea
    The night is no more
    Spellbound he embraces me
    I become his talisman
    Everyone has left
    And I am alone
    My world, my world
    My world, be mine
    My skin, my capsule
    I do not miss it
    My skin, my capsule
    I will never forget it

My baby LOVES Eivør. When she is upset, no matter how hard or long she has been crying, if I play a song by Eivør, she immediately stops and listens, and falls asleep before the song is over.
Edit: my baby is now a toddler and Eivør is still foolproof. Every single meltdown, without fail, is stopped in its tracks by playing one of her songs. 😊

I'm honestly jealous of how much you embrace your culture. I'm Scandinavian and all my life I've wanted to connect to my native roots and spiritually be apart of the culture. My father is from Norway and never passed on any costumes to me besides food. I was doing some research about Scandinavian mythology and I came across you singing and old folk song and I feel in love with your voice and the spirit you carry throughout the piece. I'm in love with how; even with today's modern culture; you still continue to embrace your roots and write and preform your music in a old fashion matter. I respect everything you do and who you are. You're so beautiful and present yourself so highly as a Scandinavian women. This may sound odd, but in America we don't really practice any cool costumes and as an immigrant; you quickly forget where you come from because you're so overwhelmed by a new place. You influence me to learn more about my roots through your music! Thank you

I have no idea what the lyrics mean... But maybe ten seconds into the song I started tearing up. This is music one can feel with the soul, not only listen with the ears. The language only contributes to this magical journey, it sounds so breathtakingly eerie and otherworldly, like an incantation.

HellCat I cry almost everytime I don't sing along with this song...
It's a love story of old, but with lots of us, it reaches deep into our core.
I believe every language can be felt, if we're just open and receptive and willing enough to go where the emotions dare to take us.
I feel she also sings with her heart, and noticed every soul who does this leaves an unique fingerprint on us..
      Long story short
Emotions are bliss when caused by music like this. 💚

That is one of the many purposes of music: for the soul to find healing. And as I've discovered, we come back around to certain types of music just when we think we're "over" one genre or another. It's because soul learning and healing is not a linear journey. Sure, we have our core favorite life themes and genres, but others may catch our ears because those other genres are meant to, because it's something we needed to hear. We may not always know why, but that's okay.
May your soul find the peace and healing you deserve. 🙏🙏🤗🤗

Oh man! Who is this beautiful 'forest-elf', she cannot be from this earth. It is simply not human to be so multi-talented and be able to enchant with such a superhumanly beautiful voice. I am at a lack of words. She has a unique style, writes such alluring 'scaled-down'/rather simply songs and performs them in a way that is...just. No, give up. I yield. She has simply put a spell on me - I am firmly in her grip!
I discovered her recently and all of her songs are just fully immersed with such feelings. (Sure, I admit I like some songs more than others - I'm foremost a 'minor-guy'...but haven't seen or heard any of her performances that has had a lack, of anything).
I've read a lot of comments on people having different opinions on whether the songs where she sings in English or Faroese are preferred. I can't say I really have an opinion on that matter though...probably since I partly don't tend to listen so much, or put too much emphasis on the lyrics - and partly since I tend to have a tough time hearing what people sing anyway. Regardless if it's in English, or 'even' Swedish which is my native tongue. A tendency where I seem to be the 'odd-one-out' on. (Perhaps it's because of my ADD - at least that's what 'they' say..? Who knows. Of course I can and do appreciate poetic lyrics when I'm able to read them - just like anyone else: and she has equally beautifully composed texts!).
There's simply nothing I can come think of that I could possibly have a 'complaint' about - except for that it took me such a long time to discover her. Ah, I'm just rambling now...
The Faroese must be proud of having produced such wonder!
    Cheers from Sweden everyone.

And when I though that Icelandic Grammar was hard...
Turns out the Faroese language is practically on the same level of Danish for "how these words are pronounced versus how they look."
    Don't judge me. I'm Icelandic.

I speak Faroese fluently, but because I grew up in Denmark I was never formally educated in Faroese grammar and spelling and had to teach myself as a child. Despite speaking the language all my life I still to this day have some difficulty when writing it and often make spelling errors. I really sympathize with any foreigners trying to learn it from scratch :p
To my knowledge it is extremely difficult to become fluent in Faroese if you are not a native speaker. I have only ever met one person, a Danish priest, who spoke it almost to perfection. I only noticed halfway through his speech that some of the consonants were a bit off.

I'm here in the U.S. and I'm reminded of how little diversity we have with the majority of musicians in this part of the world. I've never heard of this artist before, don't understand a word, and can't stop listening. This music hits parts of me in ways I can't explain, it makes me feel things I haven't felt in a very long time. I listen to her voice and I start crying and don't know why. All I know is I love this music and am very glad I found it.

I'm absolutely trøllabundin by your music. It's so enchanting. I even understand some of the words, Swedish as I am. I love that U sing in your mother tounge. We've got enough of artists singing in english, even though they are from non-english countries.

Speaking as a language nerd and musician whose mother tongue is English, I completely agree! 😁😁 I don't speak a word of the Scandinavian languages, but I don't care. I love the sound of the Faroese language. It has a musical magic all its own, much like other languages I've heard and attempted to learn. Learning other languages as a US native has a schizoid stigma: you either are looked at in awe and envy because others want to learn even basic Spanish, just for example, and they can't quite grasp it.
Or you get shaming looks by xenophobes because you don't want to just speak English, and they think that by learning other languages, we're not forcing immigrants to "assimilate," as if we're the Borg collective from "Star Trek." 🙄 There seems to be zero middle ground.
And then there's comments like yours, which make me feel...vindicated, for lack of a better word. 😅

@@a.katherinesuetterlin3028 Thanks. Yeah, I think all of us misses out on many things when we don't embrace other cultures, even though we might not understand the language. With music we understand the feel it creates in us.
