69 & 70 was such an interesting period - they became masters of the heavy psychedelic & rock/blues music by 68, and then they went back into the entire catalog of American music, old & new, and created new music blending all of these things together. Then in 71 they naturally birthed psychedelic jazz with the help of their new keyboardist, Keith. It was instantaneous, and the world was changed forever. What else besides bamboo can grow that much in three years?
You nail it, joefelice. Notice also that this one-set show is a prototype for the shows they were playing sometimes in 1970 beginning electric, then a more acoustic interlude, then back to electric. (Dylan picked up on this structure in the mid-late 90s, too.)
@@jimpowell6789 respectfully, Dylan was mixing acoustic & electric sets before this, much to the chagrin of his folky fans. Check out the docs Eat the Document and Don’t Look Back.
@@joefelice5062 Well, not exactly. In 65-66 Dylan would play an acoustic set, take a break, and come back for an electric set with the Hawks. Starting in 88 and through the 90s he played shows where they started electric, shifted to acoustic in the middle of his one long set, then back to electric, and also played shows where they started acoustic, then shifted electric, again all one set.
Casey Jones into Hard to Handle? I'll HAVE to listen to THIS! This is gonna be interesting. Thanks, once again, for posting and sharing.LIR, NFA! ✌❤🤘🤟☮
