Here's a tip that VERY little people know. If you are in an a-wing or interceptor, as you use the speed boost, pull back as if to slow down. You will gain the firepower boost but not lose any speed
One tip ! If you are both flying to each other and your enemy opens fire when in range you can do the barrel roll and still fire! This means that you wont get any damage and get a free kill :)
I've consistently been in the top 3 players on my team for every single game of fighter squadron since I watched this video. Thank you! Hope to see you come back soon.
Major tip for Battlestation. If you're a rebel, use a A-wing for the first part and then use the speed boost as soon as you spawn in. You'll get a big chance of getting the hero pick up or the Y-bomber or B-bomber pick ups.
So all DLC should exclusively cater to those who just want ground combat? What about those of us who asked and are happy with finally getting a DLC that caters to US for a change? You have Bespin, Outer Rim, 3 maps on Death Star, AND Scarif...but it's too much to give us 2 measley modes?
Krontok Maybe I'm just misinterpreting, but I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to get at there, friend. I was just jokingly referencing the fact that everyone wanted Space Battles then when they added them in Death Star, the main feedback was that there was too much space combat.
Excellent! Love it! One thing to remember about ships with shields: missiles will knock out shields - both on smaller craft and hero ships, and will offer some damage to the ship when hit as well. Hitting an enemy with missiles when their shields are up can kill them if their health us low enough. And using missiles to knock out a ship's shields can lead to a quicker kill if their health was high by following up with a volley of blaster fire. As always - a great video!
that deathstar map for flying is wonderful I can get 40+ kills on that map and the change to the mechanics are a godsend for a pilot loving person like myself. The interceptor having the increased dmg powerup instead of a missile is also wonderful and it feel s alot better to fly now.
Awesome info! I was so frustrated with flying that I never played it or would leave a game as soon as the word "flying" showed up...that for all those pointers!
Excellent video, very thorough. You're very well spoken sir. I didn't know about the lock on overheat, so thanks. When flying, I prefer to keep my distance, but not look like I'm keeping my distance. Flying casual. Cheers!
I enjoy the playing all flying modes and I use the pc setup and have no issue with maneuvering using the mouse (have a gaming mouse and just up the sensitivity). Keep the vids going, always enjoy watching!!
Awesome video! I feel like flying is actually the only area of the game at which I don't suck, and your video both confirmed many of my tactics and was wonderfully informative! I didn't know about the power sharing among fighter systems.
Just a fun fact, the U-Turn you were referring to is called the Immelmann turn, which, generally speaking, is a terrible maneuver for combat situations, so of course DICE put this in the game and not a loop :/. The opposite of an Immelmann is a split S, which is just doing the same thing, but losing altitude instead.
Just a quick thought, all flying vehicle are more accurate in first-person. Fun fact, you shoot slightly below when not locked on. Using a mix of third and first is essential, especially with ground targets. If you want that perfect missile shot on that AT-ST, or a person on the ground, use first-person. You seem to turn faster and sow down while in first-person, making in *much* easier to go through obstacles. When in third, your swinging you starship around an axis, while in first, you are the axis.
Not all of the time, just for ground ttack runs, after you line up or it. Or hitting the Star Destroyer on Battlestation from far away using torpedoes. First-person gives you better accuracy in those situations. Personally, I fly 3-rd person most of the time, and tactically switch to first when such accuracy is required (even if its ramming Darth Vader and taking one for the team).
How to not suck, at flying... NOOB EDITION! 1. Always be behind enemy 2. Target same person until they die, and not play the game like it's supposed to be played 3. X Wing noob it all the wY
Broncos13 Fan 1. That is the general principle behind aerial combat in pretty much any game 2. Similar to point 1, in most cases that is the best thing to do. Making sure there are no opposing fighters to challenge your teams strafers is your main objective. 3. X-Wing is the fighter class, the one most people want to do. It's job is to take out opposing fighters and protect it's team's A-wing. Many noobs use it for it's swiftness and many knowledgeable players use it for it's synergy with the team's aerial composition. No hate man, just thought I would try and point out why those points aren't necessarily noob, coming from a BF4 jet player and avid combat simulation pilot
dont get in stupid situations, dont die? dont use it if you cant maintain level 2-3? have at least 1 heal, and a jump pack, unless its all indoors/tunnels no jump pack?
I'd wait a bit for rebalances before you do. Right now Bossk is just a bit OP (not massively, but a little bit), and Chewbacca is really too slow to be effective (I wouldn't mind a few nerfs to his damage if that would give him better recovery time from moves and a faster sprint).
I was waiting the entire video for you to say how much the cloud car sucks lol. But great video keep up the amazing content👍congrats on almost 30k subs a few more days and you'll be there
Excellent video. Nice work, mate. :) I REALLY wish DICE implemented full yaw/pitch/roll controls for the ships (excluding the T-47, of course) along with cockpit free-look. I hate the simplified controls we're stuck with. At the very least, DICE needs to reduce how much the pilot/craft sway while turning. It makes cockpit view really difficult to enjoy (along with the lack of cockpit free-look). Another important issue that needs to be addressed ASAP are the mouse flight controls on the PC version. This has desperately needed some TLC since launch. The virtual joystick style control simply doesn't work well. The response delay is murder, and players need the ability to adjust mouse axis sensitivity and acceleration values as well the ability to toggle raw mouse input and adjust dead zone size.
thanks to the fact that you can switch between mouse/keys to controller seamlessly, I never had an issue with flying. Great video though once again Otaku 5*
Something that OTAKU didn't mention that I thought was worth noting is that the T47 Airspeeders handle a lot differently to every other starfighter. Their vertical movement is limited, meaning they can't move straight up or down like a regular starfighter, and they will skim terrain if you're flying very low to the ground AND are not at too sharp of an angle, otherwise you'll crash and burn.
I wanted to make the video focused more about the new space combat and less about specific fighters. The T-47 is just stupid as hell and breaks every convention of flying. I would have needed to dedicate an entire section of the video talking about how literally everything is different.
Personally I use a tactic that is very similar to the sneaky bastard except instead of using cover I will allow myself to be targeted circle around drop my speed and attack the enemy when he still thinks I'm in front of him. I will usually also stay low to the ground allowing myself cover and the small chance that my enemy will crash when they try to recover after realizing I am behind them. I find that the A-wing works best for this and on the imperials side the tie interceptor. Being low to the ground also allows me to be close to power ups and pick ups thus letting me heal and get cool downs plus the fighter support does help.
Kinda wish they did more with the left and right evasive maneuvers. I only ever use the top one that spins you up and back like you use as that's the only one that actually is worth using. It reminds me of the Blue Harvest line where Han is escaping the Star Destroyers and he's like "I know a few maneuvers, we'll lose them." and Luke is like "That's it? You just moved slightly to the left." That's exactly what the left evasive does and the right correspondingly lol.
On PC, a lot of people just use controllers, some people are good with keyboard and mouse (somehow) but generally people switch between the two whether on the ground or in the air.
My tactic is flying around the edge of the map with the enemy spawn in view, wait for a fighter to spawn, quickly fly behind him, take him out. They don't see me coming and it pisses them off to the point where they don't even bother picking up the fighter pickups lol
I like flying with mouse+keyboard because I can quickly change my DPI depending on situation. If I need to do sharp turns because I have someone on my tail then I change it quickly to 3200, when I play X-Wing or TIE Fighter I play with my standard 1000 and when I play A-Wing or TIE Interceptor I go for something in-between, forgot what the number was. The problem of flying is that it's not all that responsive and so you have to turn in advance when you want to eg. fly under the bridge of Star Destroyer from above the Star Destroyer: you cannot start pulling when you think you should but you should do that in advance or you'll crash.
Because of the nerf bat hitting the Falcon and Slave 1 so hard, they are basically useless now. I have found the best strategy is to fly either high above or below the main combat and then "hit and run" 1 or 2 fighters and retreat. Also, I never pass up a target within a reasonable distance in front of my ship. You can basically get an extra kill on your way in and out of combat...
If there are multiple fighters defending an objective, destroy the fighters first. When looking on, align the white dot at the center of your screen with the fighter you're locking on to. You will hit them more often. The slower your throttle is, the tighter turning radius is. As an X-Wing or any hero vehicle, ALWAYS pick up the cooldown reducer pick-ups in fighter squadron and battle station. They will boost your performance extremely.
awesome stuff again. i used to be a savage on walker assault in the skies but now people can see me coming when i dive bomb their spawn from the top of the map. screw it i just play heroes v villians now anyway.
Steven McAnaw Ah yes, that's right. He told me his father also plays Battlefront and that is how he learned about me. Nice to meet you and thank you for recommending my channel to him. We have become good friends and he is a very dedicated supporter of the channel. So I am grateful, thank you.

Hello otaku! I've been a fan for a long time and I've been thinking you should do this. It's called star card reviews where you reviews star cards their purposes when to use them and strategies if you do this maybe the first vid of this series can be jump pack or barrage maybe medical droid for death star dlc.Thank you
Just wanted to let you know that using a mouse on PC isn't like how you said at all: you don't have to keep picking up the mouse and repositioning it to turn. As the mouse is moved off-center it just continues to turn the ship. Using a mouse is in this mode is actually very doable once you get the feel for it. Otherwise, great video.
I fly on PC with mouse and keyboard. It works like a stick. I never lift the mouse. An inch to the right holds a right turn and so on. No lifting and sliding the mouse.
OTAKU GAMING Well, in star wars battlefront I can play normal. But when I am flying, everything goes sooo well. I know that everyone hates me then. But at least my score is good. And I am having fun :)
The lock on is the most annoying thing ever. I always get the lock on my enemy and they never do anything about it, but my blasters always miss anyways for minutes on end.
People complain about "the new battlefront has horrible space controls!" but I remember playing Battlefront 2 on pc with the exact same turning mechanic that PC players despise.
Here's a tip that VERY little people know. If you are in an a-wing or interceptor, as you use the speed boost, pull back as if to slow down. You will gain the firepower boost but not lose any speed
Ayyyy fellow Columbus fan!
Battlefront Official that Adam jahn goal 😱😱😱
Thanks so much!!!
Plentax - GTA 5, BF1, and more I'm coming to Columbus for a school exchange from Scotland in October 🙂
lewmar321 woah to what school?

Finally someone mentions it
Jelle Posthuma Awesome tip! Now my skills are complete.

people complaining about too much flying in Death Star, yet keep jetpacking in front of me when I go for a fighter pickup in WA
You can have too much Space Battles.

+OTAKU GAMING How not to suck at all the hero and villain vehicles
T.J. Corcoran I Know You
TheCoolGuy Awesome please elaborate
Personally, I have no trouble flying with the mouse. You just have to get the feel for it and you'll be doing sweet maneuvers before you know it. :)
Amazing guide OTAKU. Can't wait for your Battlefield videos, I've given up on this game.
Thanks dude, I'm excited as well.
Would you consider giving us your opinions about Battlefield 1 in a separate video?
Excellent! Love it! One thing to remember about ships with shields: missiles will knock out shields - both on smaller craft and hero ships, and will offer some damage to the ship when hit as well. Hey Otaku , I've been following you channel since about 4k and it's great to see that you'll hit 30k soon!
keep the great work up!:)
Hey Ben, I remember you :) Thanks for the kind words my friend.

the up manuver is called a immelman
Brilliant as always Brotaku! Your videos rule! Having said all that, I suck at flying. If I had an invincible ship I would still die somehow.:)
Thanks dude
Do a How to Bodyguard
Is it that hard to be a good bodyguard?
dont get in stupid situations, dont die? dont use it if you cant maintain level 2-3? have at least 1 heal, and a jump pack, unless its all indoors/tunnels no jump pack?
Odyssey2001 uhhh, just shoot its simple
Pls do a how to chewbacca and Bossk
Pretty sure that he's already working on it
probably
OTAKU GAMING lol
OTAKU GAMING Well you said it in another vid so... ;)

Thanks dude and I yeah...cloud cars are meh.
I don't know if anyone's said, but the maneuver with the up d-pad is called an Immelmann. Half a loop and roll out at the top.
It has been said but thank you anyway
Thanks for the vid OTAKU!!!!!! Flying has really been a hard one for me. Keep up the good work on your channel!!!!!!!😄😄😄
Thank you and happy to help

You covered most in this video, there's still some things I did not see that are incredibly useful, that I don't want to share for the better ;)
Fair enough
i love how you joke about annoying things in a normal voice XD thats why i subscribed!
Already joined the dark side...everything painful makes me happy now.
That manuever at 4:50 is the Immelmann, a real life manuever
love when you upload 😄
Sanchu

lol @ "That's it? You just moved slightly to the left."
The backflip U turn type thing is called the Immelmann turn.
Thank you very much
Since the added the cool downs on the lock-on. It is so much harder to get kills as Slave 1
Ugh slave 1 sucks so much IMO
You finally made this THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
^_^
YOU REPLIED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thx.
On PC, a lot of people just use controllers, some people are good with keyboard and mouse (somehow) but generally people switch between the two whether on the ground or in the air.
Thanks for this. Very helpful
Welcome, happy to help
OTAKU thank you so much for this video and listening to mine and others comments. You're are awesome. Thanks.
You're welcome dude, thanks for watching and I hope you stick around for more content.
OTAKU GAMING how much longer will you be on this Exodus?
the barrel roll is great in games of chicken where you are in a head on collision course with an enemy plane. they miss you hit they dead.
My tactic is flying around the edge of the map with the enemy spawn in view, wait for a fighter to spawn, quickly fly behind him, take him out. They don't see me coming and it pisses them off to the point where they don't even bother picking up the fighter pickups lol
Thanks dude!! This was really helpful!!
Thanks for watching
I've been waiting for one of these xD
Thanks for waiting
OTAKU GAMING no problem dude I love your videos
Luv the videos. Long live otaku
I like flying with mouse+keyboard because I can quickly change my DPI depending on situation. thx, i can never fly to well!
Hope it helps
Your grammars are impeccable
Sanchu
Wow awesome video. Went from like 4 kills 20 deaths to 20 kills 1 death in 1 match
Awesome!
awesome stuff again. i used to be a savage on walker assault in the skies but now people can see me coming when i dive bomb their spawn from the top of the map. screw it i just play heroes v villians now anyway.
HvV is life
Excellent video mate, thanks!
Thanks bro!
+OTAKU GAMING also btw otaku, my son plays in live streams with you, OranMac2000, he doesn't stop talking about it lol
Steven McAnaw
Ah yes, that's right. He told me his father also plays Battlefront and that is how he learned about me. Nice to meet you and thank you for recommending my channel to him. We have become good friends and he is a very dedicated supporter of the channel. So I am grateful, thank you.
+OTAKU GAMING that's ok mate, keep up the quality content.
I so badly wanted to dogfight on an x-wing, playing this game but the babyfied controls are so fuckin unbearable that I can't stand "flying" in this game. You can't even fucking roll, you have to press a button to do it for you.
I'm sure someone already hit this, but the backflip is called an Immelman, named for Max Immelmann.
Yeah, a few people pointed it out but thanks anyway!
What if I told you, I actually enjoy flying
I like big bums, to each their own.
Wut. Btw I love your vids and find them very helpful
Evan Randon
Thank you, glad you like them
Who doesnt
nice vid when are u going to upload weapon guides for the new Death Star
Shortly
You forgot to mention that you can bind turning on mouse and keyboard in the settings. This makes turn fighting a lot easier
I was trying to not get into too much specifics about settings and stuff....would have made the video even longer.
Not really a tip but the roll maneuvers are the best missile dodger, and if you use it a lot you'll know when to flip. You'll hear a burning sound behind you and that's when you flip
The problem is that if the enemy is behind you, even if you dodge their missile...they can easily just lock back on and shoot you.
I really like flying and I'm really good at it too (usually at the top of the leader board) but I still learned from this video, I can try some of the tactics you mentioned and they will probably make a whole new leader board just for me 😎 lol
A whole new leader board lol....
OTAKU GAMING yup lol
i love your videos keep it up
Thank you
the"Backflip-u-turn-thing" is called an immelman turn I think. (Probably misspelled that)
Finally a video how not to suck flying omg thank u I seriously suck at flying lol
You're welcome, hope it helps
thx m8 luv ur work
Thanks dude
"THE BULLETS ARE MORE LIKELY TO CONNECT"
RIP
Hello otaku! I've been a fan for a long time and I've been thinking you should do this. It's called star card reviews where you reviews star cards their purposes when to use them and strategies if you do this maybe the first vid of this series can be jump pack or barrage maybe medical droid for death star dlc.Thank you
I will consider it, thanks!
great vid keep it up
Nice job as always OTAKU
Thank you
You forgot a tactic : spawnkill the enemy fighters so you don't have to dogfight
That isn't nice....*evil grin*
krauzer7 u suck
6:41 Yeah. Those AI B-Wings really are overpowered.
I remember using a maneuver once as the milleniuem falcon once, I smashed head on into slave 1
My first like 6 attempts at flying it were to same.
thank you man keep it up
You're welcome, thanks for watching.
no problem man love your vids
Just wanted to let you know that using a mouse on PC isn't like how you said at all: you don't have to keep picking up the mouse and repositioning it to turn. As the mouse is moved off-center it just continues to turn the ship. Using a mouse is in this mode is actually very doable once you get the feel for it. Otherwise, great video.
I see a lot of players complain about it and say otherwise. I think it might just come down to hardware & settings.
YES!!! FINALLY!!! I SUCK AT FLYING!!!
Suck be gone!
Fighter squadron is a pretty good game mode to gain xp. I enjoy playing it.
Also good for credits...seeing as you aren't using any charges.
I might actually play death star now, I've been having a ton of fun playing outer rim lately.
I can never find lobbys for outer rim...QQ
huh, I find a lobby almost right away . barely any people seen to play death star here!
The video that I needed the most/ ;)
Same
Hope it helps
Only thing I learned is that I'd rather just crash and die 😊 (jk good video m8)
lmfao!!!!
Thank you so much!
Welcome
you're the best, Otaku!
Thanks dude
dont know if u mentioned this, but the x wing has better maneuverability in the air, and loops around in a smaller circle than the tie fighter.
Yes, I have an entire section of the video dedicated to this.
Otaku, are you going to put up videos on the new Rogue One DLC? How to play Krennic, Erso, etc??
Yep
that u turn maneuver is called an immelmann
Thank you. I was searching high and low and couldn't find it anywhere.
Thankyou finally
^_^
Nice job great review so you have a Xbox?
NOOO! You're spoiling a lot of my secrets in flying! :p
Sowwyz
I fly on PC with mouse and keyboard. It works like a stick. I never lift the mouse. An inch to the right holds a right turn and so on. No lifting and sliding the mouse.
Hey when is your next video? Scarif has been released.
Haha, this is what I do most of the time in Star Wars battlefront, a-wing+walker assault=top on the scoreboard. Still a great video.
SWBFPlayer Well, Who doenst prefer cheap kills?
sounds like my friend....wait are you noob medic lol?
OTAKU GAMING Well, in star wars battlefront I can play normal. But when I am flying, everything goes sooo well. I know that everyone hates me then. But at least my score is good. And I am having fun :)
SWBFPlayer :P
SWBFPlayer It takes a bit off skill though. But I will never stop! MUHAHAHA
Hahaha that hit and run tactic worked perfectly against that at st
Yeah I wasn't trying to literally hit and run on him, but it all worked out.
The "backflip" is called a Krogian Turn
How to honor guard please!!

The lock on is the most annoying thing ever. I always get the lock on my enemy and they never do anything about it, but my blasters always miss anyways for minutes on end.
I'm actually better at aerial combat than ground combat. I'm pretty good at ground combat though.
Ayden McGee I agree Im a great pilot and a great solider
Same here man, I used to get demoed in infantry, but do much better in flying. Better at infantry now
Ayden McGee me to
I'm not that good at ground combat (unless I'm determined to not lose no matter what) but I'm an awesome pilot, and I get better every battle.
I really hope I can get better at flying.
People complain about "the new battlefront has horrible space controls!" but I remember playing Battlefront 2 on pc with the exact same turning mechanic that PC players despise.
Cyber Venom7 nope its different
What sensitivity did you set the game to? Just wondering
