Bernardo is so cool. He's being arm-in guillotined, coughs because it's so tight and painful and immediately says: "That was great." LOL. How can you not love this dude? Meeting of two of the most awesome individuals in the sport.
That's everyone though isn't it. Like oh damn I'm going to learn this. He's awesome because he's a multi year black belt asking the questions us noobies want to.
Re: guillotine--I learned after first arm is under neck, 2nd hand comes to the 1st hand next to your body, not over opponents arm or you don't get the choke!?! Has this changed?
Bernardo is so down to earth humble guy. He's first to admit that he hasn't seen this and that detail; great attitude for learning. I wish there was more instructors like him. Most jiu-jitsu instructors just come with pseudo-reasoning why they fsiled to mention certain useful grips and angles when being questioned.
The High percentage chokes was the first dvds I bought as a 1 stripe white belt. I was amazed how easy it all was to put into practice so early however the details are what sets it all apart. I can say without a doubt that you'll be happy with the chokes instructionals.
Amazing. Simply amazing. Great details! As a fellow "small guy", I've definitly been a fan of Lachlan and really appreciate Bernardo's humbleness and genuine positivity. Such great videos!
Lachlan is the perfect combo of informative and concise - Amazing attention to detail without ever being overwhelming or rambly. My fav internet coach!
Damn, wish I had seen this when it first came out. So, so many great details! What really blew my mind is the Anaconda Choke detail--I've always reached with the choking arm as far as I could, because that's how I was taught. I've been missing the artery by going so deep this whole time, which explains why my success rate with them is hit or miss *facepalm
I have just subscribed now having watched 5 videos and the details in the moves covered in encounters with each BJJ opponents/instructors has been inspirational and a very useful set of technical skills to adapt and apply to my progression in BJJ. Other people may receive similar or the same input from these videos. Thank you
Damn. That RNC second hand detail at 4mins is great. Those mechanics for the arm in. So strong. And for the anaconda. I was also one of those guys that goes deep with that choking arm. Never again!
At 4 min, there's also a hand-locking with the chin, which perplexes le because in a real life situation it would leave you open to punches to the face ... Any thoughts ?
@@12584526 it's an amazing tradeoff. You get to prevent blood from going to his brain in exchange for some weak WEAK punches to the head. Btw, if they become a threat you can simply move your face out of the way. You can allow yourself to move your head and sacrifice perfect mechanics since your opponent is not defending the choke intelligently. You still end up with the advantage
@@12584526 the punches will only be generated with the arms power and them using their arms elsewhere means you don't have to fight their hands and can secure the choke easier
Amazing tips. The sneaky thumb push in neck counter force and the knuckles behind the neck to to tighten the choke before locking in is amazing tips that we never saw anywhere. Thank you for sharing!
"And what will you do with all that money you won from the lottery, Sir?" "I will try and enlist Lachlan Giles' services for a full year, 1-on-1" Best money spent, ever..
I have a physical disability and have been severely underweight for the majority of my life. I'm a very small guy, 5'10 and 110 lbs on a good day. I've never taken a BJJ class but I've rolled/light sparred with friends a ton in my teenage years and a few of my friends had a little experience in BJJ and wanted to "toughen me up" so they taught me what they knew, and having submissions especially chokeholds in my muscle memory has saved my ass in a few self defense situations, nothing feels better than submitting someone larger than you because you had more technical knowledge than they did, I'll definitely teach my daughter everything I know and enroll her in classes, and I suggest the same to any other father out there. It breaks my heart to think of how many innocent people, especially women, lose their lives in a brutal attack where if they had even minor hand to hand combat training they probably would have survived.
Re: guillotine--I learned after first arm is under neck, 2nd hand comes to the 1st hand next to your body, not over opponents arm or you don't get the choke!?! Has this changed?
I'm no expert but when Lachlan sits up on his elbow to finish off the rear naked choke I suspect he gives his opponent more of a chance to spin out or something since they are sitting slightly higher so they will have more leverage with their legs
Bernardo is so cool. He's being arm-in guillotined, coughs because it's so tight and painful and immediately says: "That was great." LOL. How can you not love this dude? Meeting of two of the most awesome individuals in the sport.
It happens the same to me. I find it very cool when a technique works and it is powerful.
Bernardo is awesome. A world champion who still gets excited like a beginner. Gotta love that.
That's everyone though isn't it. Like oh damn I'm going to learn this. He's awesome because he's a multi year black belt asking the questions us noobies want to.
That is literally everyone that has trained BJJ for 5 minutes
Hokay guys....First here...Huuge honor for me
Blaze rofl :D
ok guys
make sure you watch it til the end the last technique is really an amazing one
Haha 😂
Hespect brother...🙏
that is single-handedly the best RNC lesson ive ever seen
agreed
100%!!!!
Re: guillotine--I learned after first arm is under neck, 2nd hand comes to the 1st hand next to your body, not over opponents arm or you don't get the choke!?! Has this changed?
It's good but have a look at the latest video with J. Danaher he breaks it down bit by bit👍
Danaher's breakdown is undoubtedly better

*Bernardo getting chocked to death*.
“Man that’s amazing”
Lachlan Giles is one of the best instructors I have ever seen.
He really is great isn't he.
Lachlan steals your oxygen.
Bernardo: "that was great."
Huge honor for you, love your videos and your positivity :)
Bernardo the positive energie that you give to us is from another level. Thank you for that and as a great bonus you also give us epic videos. 🤙👍🏻🙏
me seeing the amount of free information bjjfanatics gives out: "some men just want to watch the world learn"
1:08 - rear nacked chocke
6:13 - arm in guillotine
11:03 - anackonda choke
Poor Bernardo suffering for us to get better. Thank you!
Wow, the RNC one is incredible, is like noone has taught me it before, is in a totally different level! Lachlan is a GREAT instructor!
Go search john danaher's rnc

Bernardo is the best. You can tell he absolutely hates being the choking demo guy but he takes it stride!! 🤣

Absolute gold! Lachlan is great. Bernardo is great, what more can you ask?
Lachlan Giles explaines perfectly every detail !
I don't think I saw Bernardo suffering so much in other videos :) Great deatails and execution by Lachlan. Bernardo's face at 7:34 tells everything :)
Brazilians love to say the word “guys” 🤣
I can't remember if it's Bert or Ernie who this guy sounds identical to....
Bernardo sounds a bit like Swedish Chef, and he brings a smile to my face just as easily. Great guy!
If you are thinking about buying a lachlan giles DVD, just do it. You won't regret it.
Bernardo is pound for pound the nicest and most humble man in all of sports
Amazing details professors! Thank you so much for evolving my game.
"its a HYUGE HONOR FOR ME" hahaha all the time
Bernardo everyday I get new details to take with me to the mats, but I revisit this one the most. Simple details applied perfectly. Oss and thanks
It's pronounced guillotine not guillotine
Those details are phenomenal. Giles is much smaller than Bernardo and he still hit these chokes beautifully. 👌👌👌
The 2nd choke is like a guillotine/Darce hybrid, great for us lil guys
Nice video! I can never hit that arm in guillotine but I'm not stepping up and tighten it like that. Definitely going to start trying that.
We suck
Amazing tips. The sneaky thumb push in neck counter force and the knuckles behind the neck to to tighten the choke before locking in is amazing tips that we never saw anywhere. Thank you for sharing!
Lachlan "the giant slayer" Giles. Cool techniques man.
Love their instructional..absolutely gold🙏
So good thanks, might have to rewatch this 1000 times 🤙
You are great guys, thank you very much!
Fantastic detail - will be watching more of Giles' videos.
"And what will you do with all that money you won from the lottery, Sir?"
"I will try and enlist Lachlan Giles' services for a full year, 1-on-1"
Best money spent, ever..
13 people don't like this... i guess they are ADCC gold medalist's...
So awesome to learn from these guys! Thanks!
3:35 "I cant find it." 😂
I was gonna comment this 🤣😭🤣
Thank you this is going to help me and my daughter we are white belts and we are just loving BJJ Osss
Bjj is just who is the most sneaky. And this dude is super sneaky. Really enjoyed this.
Tucking the elbow applying seatbelt nice detail there.

Fantastic details #Lachlan Giles! Love it!!!
But how to defend against these?
Bernardo using the word choke as much as he can while Danaher's not in the room
How do you stop from losing your bottom hook? Once I lose that my control falls apart.i don't have long legs
On that first rear naked, can bernardo bridge up and stack his weight on you while you try posting to elbow for the finishing arm to come in?
Kermit the frog
Brown Daniel Rodriguez Carol Martin Jason
excellent
Lachlan looks like an Office character whenever hes in a vid and Bernardo speaking
Dustin Pourier could've used this advice
Fantastic details! Thank You!
Lovely little details
such gold nuggets!!!!
I wish that Lachlan had addressed how to deal with the right hand when you’re going for the rear naked choke.
This was great. This was amazing.
Amazing video, I am going to work on the details.
That's probably the best tutorial I've seen. More of that guy!
"Ah its so deep." We're a bunch of weirdos
Those are all good until you run into a loser who bites... 😡
Re: guillotine--I learned after first arm is under neck, 2nd hand comes to the 1st hand next to your body, not over opponents arm or you don't get the choke!?! Has this changed?
its just a different type, there's guillotine and arm-in guillotine
Wonderful! Thank you so much.
I love it thank for the video
the detail for the RNC blew my mind.
Thanks guys
Excellent finishes
Great details!
Amazinh details. Oss
This was a real god video.
Such good details
If you're not already, make sure you subscribe to the absolute mma St Kilda channel. Lachlan puts out a heap of amazing content on there!
4:16 Try to block that Bernardo hahahha
If you didn't read the (amazing details) in Bernardo's voice then you are not a bjj fanatic.
Brilliant. Thanks Lachlan and Bernardo!
going to start carrying a blade. some bjj wanna be will bleed if I get assaulted with that ground system
Just tap and appologise, because you probably were an ass if someone gets you in one of these.
Amazing details.
