Where can I find the brickyard baseplates. I can’t find them on their website? Are they the best off brand? Is SCS any good they have a 10 pack of 16x16 on Amazon.
Starting off 2023 with a beautiful moc doesn't need too much printing or stickers just enough to add that pop of detail that wasn't there with your older mocs i love to see how you've grown Mocs better and better
Thanks, I have instructions available for this as well now, both on my website bevinsbricks.com/store/ols/categories/instructions and rebrickable rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-134054/Bevinsbricks/general-store-vintage/#details
Lego seriously needs to consider doing modulars of this size alongside their big one every year. It’d be a great way to let more people enjoy modulars without breaking the bank. Great design!
Buy wall building bricks, windows, doors, and plates direct from lego. Honesty it’s just as much fun as buying sets because you can create whatever you like. I haven’t bought the last two modulars because I haven’t liked them. I spend that money on building my own. Also nice to have a lego city that’s not the same as everyone else’s
This reminds me of alot of storefronts in my last town I lived in. The colors you chose are awesome and the stain glass window is a nice touch. That will go great with you’re new train station.
Another fantastic build. I am really liking this scale and size you are doing with these buildings so far. Again your attention to detail in a build is awesome as always.
Thanks man, trying to rope my builds in a little this year. With the prices constantly rising the large builds were kill me. I still love doing them though.
@@BevinsBricksWorld I think having some buildings like this size and also some of your sky scrappers you already have built will add a nice variety to your city.
Love the store. You don’t see too many stores like that anymore. I actually have the Western General Store that that sign comes from. In fact I have the entire western town and the Fort Legorado set, all original.
Thank you, I really find doing the small 16x32 is a much easier task when it comes to designing buildings. Can keep the build time down to one to two days.
Good start of 2023. And immediatly a lot of details. What of course we all like to watch. Great is also that you have a standaard method for the lichting. And like a mentioned on Instagram. Good that you Bevinized the backside 💪💪
Nice building, with this and the train station I am getting a feel of an area of old but well kept buildings, and it is very cool. I think adding a light to the General Store sign, so people can find the store in the dark is a good idea. Looking forward to seeing it in the town when you have placed it.
Dude. Love your vids. Compared to that dutch guy i use to think your city was too gridded and ‘blocky’ then i saw you light up cars, buildings, and everything and i fell in love! Even your custom mocs like this are simply great. Loved the police station you did too! I always wonder how people get so many of the masonry 2x2 bricks in so many different colors
Thanks I appreciate it, I actually like brickcrafts myself his city is partly why Im redoing mine. As for the parts its all about being willing to spend a ton to buy them. What I have I found a really good deal on bricklink over seas, but had to buy large quantities to get them.
I agree: the color combination is great and one I don't think I've seen often. I also agree: the general store sign should be lit up. I have that western set, but the stickers are not in useable condition at all!
Beautiful general store Daryl. I love the color scheme. This will fit in perfectly with the train station. I agree the general store sign needs to be lit up. I really wish Lego would make printed windows again as I didn’t start collecting Lego till a few years ago. Looking forward to the placement of this MOC.
Thanks so much, Lego has made a lot of interesting Windows over the years, my favorite new windows are the ones that are used in Diagon Alley and they are printed as well. They're not your traditional Windows though. They are trans clear Bricks but still work great when you can find them.
I absolutely love this! I've been thinking of doing something similar for a while now. I MOCed up a hardware store in an old-fashioned sort of style a few weeks ago that matches up with this perfectly.
You'll have to share some pics of it to my Instagram would love to see it. I plan to build a small hardware also but I'm gonna make it a ACE hardware :)
Great video, looks awesome, like always. I know you now have some other priorities regarding videos, but would you share again, in some future short videos, your electrician expertis? Some tips and trick you use regarding wiring, measuring stuff, maybe correct soldering, combining wires etc.? I know you did that in the pest a few times, already learn a thing or two from you, but always like to learn more this side of the builds from expert, alongside your master LEGO creations.
OMG-Setting the standard for Modulars. I wonder if the official LEGO Modular’s are even code compliant. Seriously, no indoor plumbing, electricity or gas heat. 😂 Well done Professor Bevins. This is how it’s done!
Really cool build honestly. I built a virtual Lego general store/soup shop. I'd say mine is extremely similar to yours, it has a brick design like yours. I actually took inspiration from a model toy train station general store. One thing i was gonna add is that you should put that window air unit on the other window because you're then impeding the escape.
Happy new year!! Woaow Daryl!!! Your city gonna look like a model rail road I sayed it again I know, but, that's what's I'm feeling about your city. Your work is great!! Love you Daryl!!😊
Impressive details in the build, as always. For realism's sake, I would think the back A/C unit would be in the other window so that window could allow access to the fire escape balcony and stairs; with the A/C where it is, I would think people couldn't get in and out from there. I'm nowhere near as good of a builder as you are when it comes to all the details, but I've found that when I'm MOCing up modular buildings, I tend to build much deeper toward the back of the plate to allow for more details inside. I see you're leaving about 9 studs open for the back alleyway. That makes me curious if you're planning on making outdoor scenes in the city with all that space.
@@BevinsBricksWorld It looks good where it is. I didn't realize the issue with the stairs. I'm sure if there was a fire, a minifig could bust out the glass and squeeze through the one window. :)
Thanks, getting a large part collection takes time. How I started Gathering my parts was buying used both Lots off of Facebook Marketplace. Now I only buy bulk new parts from Lego and Bricklink. Keep in mind I have been collecting for 24 years though this Insanity doesn't happen overnight LOL.
@Bevins Bricks Lego ya that's what I've been doing is keeping an eye on marketplace and eBay. But some of the prices the lots sell for on ebay surprise me. I just seen 10 pounds sell on ebay for $600.
I love the use of classic parts to bring into a modern moc! Perhaps some small overhead angled light builds would work for the general store, since it's not exactly a high end store with a light up front sign, but rather a more mom and pop type shop. Definitely excited to see it in your city. ^^
Thanks so much, I have a bunch of ideas I'm going to be trying to use a lot of my vintage sets for parts. As this was a lot of fun to do. For the lighting I am going to just put two small lights or something above the sign from the roof.
I absolutely love these smaller buildings! You need to get on Lego Masters, I can’t believe how smooth and good you make this look! I noticed you upgraded the lighting method by adding clips now? Is there a place to buy the small expansion boards like they have in LED kits? I’ve been wanting to go the edgelec route for so long now. I always look forward to your builds and hanging out.
I make my own lighting and also use blinky Bricks and brick loot. The expansion boards I think your talking about are on blinky bricks and if you buy them use offer code bevinsbricks for a discount. As for Lego Masters I will never be on that show they require entirely too much time off of work for filming and I can't take 8 to 12 weeks off from my job.
@@BevinsBricksWorld that’s exactly what I’m talking about, you nailed it! I didn’t realize they had different size plugs like the FX kind Vs normal.
