      Kurt Haller no i just dont see why mess with it then it voids the warranty. To me if your going to change it then you never really liked it at all. If i spend 50 grand on a new truck why change the rims and tires if they are new. Now if the get damaged then i might change them

      Love your Husqvarna & the way you have it set up. I have a older ktm-300xc & love the 300 2 strokes. On my bike I have a carbon fiber pipe guard the same radiator guards that you have + fastway handguards. I still would like to put a lectron carb on it though but the keihin isn't to bad.

    So the top pro enduro riders arent using the Rekluse Auto clutch and left hand brake because A- They dont need to
    B - thats catered to your leisure easy rider thats a little competitive
    C - A lot of their control comes from always using the clutch... hopping over logs, going up hills, rough terrain etc its more control
    D - The Midwest levers are good with Rekluse, not so much with stock clutch. Midwest is an easier pull but you also have to pull it further into the bars. With the stock clutch lever, cut down a little allows 2 finger pull but I only have to pull it in less than an inch from full out to completely disengage clutch. Couple tradeoffs.
    Now for my Dad that, your bike is an ideal setup for sure! Really like your vids

    I have a 2017 TE 300 and I’ve gone through the suspension, added a lectron carb, v force reeds, FMF turbine core silencer, trail tech fan kit, bullet proof radiator guards and a different impeller for cooling. These mods made the bike much much better.

    I love the dirt bike vids. I am not sure who the quote is originally attributed to but the story goes like this.
    A young dirt biker approaches the wily old local pro after a hard race. The young rider says
    " I am your biggest fan, and I am setting up my bike just like the pros, I have $500 bucks to spend on modifications - what do you think I should do to upgrade my bike?"
    The old vet looks at him for a few seconds and says-
    "Son - spend that $500 on gas and ride that bike just like it is."

    I really don't wanna see ya get hurt, not covering that clutch, and not having that rear foot brake. You can't cover the clutch, and the hand brake at the same time, and that's just asking for a whiskey throttle accident, especially being new. Keep your hand brake, put the foot brake back on, and put the stock clutch back in, or run the rekluse manual. That 300 will get better traction, and control with good clutch technique than that auto ever will. The rekluse on the big 4 stroke's, is kinda ok just because they stall so easy, but hate the heavy pull, feel, and control on my Husaberg Fe501 rekluse core exp 3.0. 2 strokes just don't need em, they almost never stall.

    • @cedricboivin9422
      @cedricboivin9422 3 года назад

      I agree, the clutch is the best protection against whiskey throttle. One little pull and you're back in action.

    Just bought a NOS KTM 2017 250 XCW. I added skid plate, same bark buster guards as yours, Ktmand Husky radiator guards and FMF 2.1 shorty. Having small Issues as well with adjusting the carb, much more I may go with the Electron. Had a Rekluse on my old bike and starting to miss it. Every thing else I replace when it breaks. No pipe guard until factory one gets damaged and then I have an excuse for buying a FMF Gnarly 😄.

    You're a beginner yet you went out of way and spent at least a couple grand on upgrades. Proper technique is far more important than any of that stuff. Its yours do with it as you please. I've been riding since I was 6 that's 20 years eve learned a lot along the way and one thing I learned is technique is king.

      This winter has been really mild compared to last year. Cody is at a higher elevation and bit farther east from me but its been relatively mild for him too. Not a lot of snow and a few days pretty cold but days of relative warmth and lots of rain too. Right now we are having a week of warm days cold nights. 2 inches of snow yesterday and then a few more inches tomorrow night. Here in Vancouver it will melt off pretty quick but farther east it will hang around a while longer.

    Hey Cody, it wasn’t the bark busters crushing onto your hand that is the issue; it is that your hand gets trapped when the bar gets forced towards you (and the other end away) or when you go over the bars forward. Either way nice set up I’m sure you’re going to enjoy.

    Cody this is why I laughed when you said you would keep it stock. I don’t think anyone keeps a bike stock. There is one recommendation I have and that’s getting a tank bag to carry your gear instead of a back pack. My cousin got paralyzed from riding with a backpack on when it caught on a tree. But you do you and enjoy the riding I’ve been riding since I was 13 and it’s always fun

    You're 300 has come a long way VERY quickly, and Its got all The Right Parts if you ask me! ( Except for 10:20 😂 ) But, its you're bike what ever works for you is the important part. I did the TUbliss thing and it was a god send. But, I did have a problem with sealing. Im Doing Hare Scrambles this year an I figured Id try the bib mousse for a change. We shall see how it works out..

    • @GladiusJon
      @GladiusJon 6 лет назад +1

      Right on, I ran them all of last year. Not sure how many miles or hrs it ended up being. The Traction from them Are Just out of this world!! On mine, The Inner Liner Stayed Intact through some 0 psi Rocks which was good. But I kept loosing pressure in the tire from bead sealing issues. I found the Inner liner rim lock had to be torqued just right. Any loosening or over tightening and It would deflate rapidly. The Main issue really was to no fault of the TUbliss system. My rims were not Trued on my previous bike. My way of thinking is The Bib might save me If im in the middle of a Hare Scramble and I bend a rim.

      I keep telling him to look into the Clake instead of the Third-Hand setup. His buddy Bob probably could have schooled him up on carb tuning and saved him dropping the $$$ on the Lectron, but not a bad card played, since he didn't go the EFI route. Not sure where he gets his info on EFI issues, but ruclips.net/user/kylebrothersenvideos has been raving about the new bikes, especially for people who don't understand jetting :-)

    Put the 13t counter sprocket back on, and go up 2 teeth on the rear. The reason the 12 tooth is hard to find is it wears out chain slides, and the tighter turn around the counter sprocket add's rolling resistance.

    Hi Cody, I am not into bikes and do not know much or even anything about them, But even I can see that the "out of the box" bike cannot work for everyone. As humans we come in a wide range of sizes and shapes so it is obvious that some alterations will need to be made before the bike is ready for use. I think that the people how tell you that you are wrong don't know what they are talking about because they only have their perspective of what needs to be done and this can vary so much, as I said I don't do bikes but I still enjoy info from people and can accept that I don't know everything. Keep on riding and be safe.

    Nice review, I own a 2019 TPI and it actually works very well. I put a skid plate and put Evans coolent in it, and that is the only mods so far. I also own a 350sx and a 125sx, and both bikes have mods that really help on the trail. The best mod I seen in your video was a spark arrester, its much needed to be legal on public ground.

    I'm not one of your critics, but before you discount your subscriber base keep in mind that you might have someone here that also has experience setting up privateer and professional race bikes. Don't discount suggestions just because. You never know who the advice is coming from. 😉

    • @sethusk
      @sethusk 6 лет назад +10

      I think that's exactly why he's discounting their advice. If you had someone standing in front of you that was a proven master mechanic who specifically sets up bikes for your terrain and environment and someone on the internet who might be a master mechanic, but you have no idea and no way of knowing, who's advice would you take?

      @@sethusk: Nobody puts a Rekluse on a 300 2 stroke, that wants to ride really tough terrain through, ditching the foot brake is another really bad idea. He's gonna get into the habit of not covering the clutch, and there's no rear foot brake now, and that's just a whiskey throttle accident waiting to happen!

    When you said that you knew a man that know everything, I rolled my eyes thinking "Yeah right, everybody does" but after seeing the results I can say that he his a wise man. I would not want a rear hand brake probably for the same reason that the pro don't use them. Better clutch control. However, if you like it keep it. Really nice handguard setup, I have taught of doing it like this before but I never saw it. My only concern is that chain. I hope that you did make it tighter. I know the video is 3 years old but if somebody see this, relax with the wheelbase story and keep a good chain slack because that is way too much. On a bike with no chain guide, you won't do a mile before it jump off the sprocket.

    Hey bud that's awesome build.... I've got an 18 TX 300.... LOVE LOVE it... I would absolutely love information on that left hand brake setup you have.... Because the Husky went to Magura brake systems and recluse doesn't build a LHBR for them.... Just Brembo.... The way you have your bike setup is spot-on... Be safe out there

    we got the fact you wont listen to comments your buddy knows it all ... that said people are talking about getting your hand/wrists caught up in the hand gaurds no smashed in between like if you got flipped over the bars and you let go and got hand shoved between guard and the bars could be a bad situation that has happened to experienced people and it fucked them up badly

    For sure get the proper fork springs. The fork and shock springs need to both be sized for your weight, for the suspension to work as designed. Plushness vs firmness should be controlled through valving and the clickers. I like your choice of bike and mods so far.

      Ah, now I see why people are against the guards. Still, isn't this like saying if your car goes over a cliff the seat belt could kill you? If I go over the bars I think I have bigger problems than the hand guards. Just sayin'
