  • So we came home from church on Wednesday evening (adult bible study and prayer meeting) and Erik showed me the gigantic egg he found in one of the chicken nesting boxes! The kids have been so excited to see what's inside of it....so I thought it would be fun to turn on the camera and include all of you! We can find out together! Sometimes, new egg layers lay some odd eggs. All of my girls are fine, healthy, no one seems to be hurting, so.....I am very thankful this chicken was not egg-bound!
Thanks for hanging out with us. xox

You are so lucky she was able to lay that one, Heather. I've had a hen die when an egg like that dropped into her abdomen because it was just too large to pass. Mine was not a new egg layer, either. I didn't know it until she passed and we were able to open her up and see what made her abdomen as hard as stone. Poor hen. Whew, your hen dodged a bullet! That's a cool anatomy model! ~Cynthia

I prayed over it and thanks God he didnt find a dead hen in the nesting box and then went out to check every hen! Making sure all were ok. Have mercy. Remember when we talked after I helped my first egg-bound hen whose egg was coming out a bit sideways and i was able to straighten it enough for her to lay it. It was so traumatic!!!!!! I am thankful for a good outcome. We have had enough death around here. 🥹🙏🏻

My recovery has been very difficult and painful at the age of 73 when my leg broke..My walking is so terrible R leg has never been a normal size . Bad news the catscan showed I'm walking on a non union fracture. Dr at the VA .University had said I'm not in good health to have anymore surgery . When his nurse called Mon. she wanted to make a appointment about surgery options. I'm so confused and I know our LORD AND SAVIOR is in control, either a healing here or the ultimate healing in Heaven . Glad you enjoyed it I bet she announced that egg LOUDLY and PROUDLY! and probably complained a lot to my rooster. It's funny because the rooster will pace like an expectant father outside of the coop and answer the hens after they lay their egg!
